fun-fact: i opened a thread in the bug-forums about ionic pre-nerf. dev (don't recall who, maybe even bort) stepped in to tell us "wai"! nothing any pvp'er did or told em led to the nerf.
in fact in a podcast-interview or such geko was told about ionic and stated that it was not wai (lol!) and soon later on we got the nerf (-so many clueless pve heroes tried to avoid... for whatever reason lmao )...
but i guess the gro of the community just gets the developing-company they deserve lol.
Funny that you point out the ET solution, Lumpkin. I've been instinctively hitting ET whenever I get webbed and it does seem to neutralize the damage (if not the hold/disable effect). And this is without Temporal Insight, which I don't have.
Of course, I also have Aux2Damp running at 100% uptime and PH cycling at GCD, so maybe it's a combination of buffs. But regardless, I never get killed by the web per se. Rather, it's the legion of spikey escorts descending ony disabled carcass that do me in.
The full unresistable disable is annoying by anyone's standards, but it gets really bad if multiple people decide to use it, being as it has NO lockout period.

The same will happen with the Tarantula trait. There's no way in high heaven that it will be fixed until after the Tarantula lockbox has stopped selling.
Then the 'no resist' flag will quietly be removed, and like viral torpedo, it will become totally useless with a disable duration of less than 0.01 seconds.
@borticuscryptic should maybe think twice before adding anything that doesn't have a counter in the game. In this case, he just copied and pasted the web mines proc and added it to something you can't avoid or destroy. Heck, he even increased the damage time from 4 seconds with the mines to 6 seconds with the trait. He forgot the mines have the counter that you can shoot at them, and if you fail then you get trapped in the web (I've never been trapped twice by 1 group of mines). Here you always get hit and you can get trapped over and over in PvP if the whole opposing team is using the trait.
This is one of the reasons I don't PVP anymore, I mean enough is enough. I managed to get through Delta Rising but this is too much. Not to mention the fact that the Healer role is pretty much obsolete in the current state of the game. I spent 99% of my time in STO making Healers/Tanks and I'd rather not have to start up a whole new build in the hopes it will be even a fraction of what my Healers/Tanks were (or as fun to me as playing on my Engineer).
