If you can't do it, then you don't deserve the reward. Normal IS easy mode. Can't handle easy mode? Then too bad but this game doesn't have a mode for 3 year olds. The dread can be taked down by new players, under powered alts and even the filthy casuals. How do I know? Because I have been running normal using my for fun ships the past two weeks with them on normal and did just fine. So once again NO. We don't need to dumb down this game's PvE content any more then it already is.
Why would it hurt you personally if there would be an easier mode for people you don't have to take? I'm personally not fond of simplifying the game more and more, but it's the reality Cryptic is doing that again and again. So I think if normal isn'T fun to play anymore I go for advanced or elite, not shouting at people asking for an easier game that they suck.
Also, the dread in breach normal isn't normal difficulty, it's upscaled to level 60 (while players are downscaled to 50). That's an unprecedented case in the game if you are used to "normal" content., hence my suggestion from way back to have normal bosses be level appropriate, advacned +10 levels and elite +20 levels.

Fascinating how they fixed the holes in the shortcut but left the dreadnought as it is.
All a matter of priority I guess and from the looks of the numbers they managed to reduce the already laughable event participation even further.
The "why" is beyond me but reducing the event crowed from 800 peeps at any given time (first cc) to 80 players (first breach) within 3 years is quite remarkable.
I have full confidence in cryptic to get them down to 8 peeps next time.

They might have fixed the shortcut, but can you still fly into the fortress ship's geometry at the breach site and get stuck "behind" the map so you have to abandon the mission?

I can’t tell. My friends just informed me about the hole closure yesterday evening over TeamSpeak. I did not run with them cuz I’m done with the event and tended to upgrades.

One thing is environment art, the other is content design, I suspect. Maybe even programming work. Different people, different time available.
You are right at that and I hope you forgive my ranting. It’s just that this event was a huge disappointment for me as well as my community I played it with.
The whole thing was just a “lets tend to it quickly and get it over with” to get the fun part starting.

It cheapens the event if not the entire game. Not that there's much there to cheapen, since Normal/Normal+ is already impossible to lose anyway.
For once I would like to see an event that actually tested your skill at the game, rather than your tolerance to repeating some trivially easy task for X days.
About geometry. Last night on the last run on one of my characters, I got caught in the geometry below the Exit Hanger door to the right in the Citadel Room . Could not get out no matter what I tried, wished I could have blown myself up but ended up having to return to Sector Space.
I apologize for leaving others 'in the breach'.

doesn't it give a popup when they start shooting at the core? just click the popup and warp to the core.
That was two rooms to go. They were still beating on the Citadel when I got stuck.

Yeah, there was a player last night in one of my 9 Breach runs that got stuck somewhere on the map. We threw out suggestions, but nothing worked. His /her 1st plea for help started while the rest off us were pounding away at the Citadel ship. By the time we were in the room with the 3 generators and the power core that was playing musical chairs, we just told him to hang out because we were almost done.

Yeah, no way I was going to collect rewards for something that I didn't and couldn't contribute to for over half the Mission.

Not if I was stuck in the wall anyway. If I could have gotten out I would have.

I hope, at least, you used your witty repartee to keep the team amused and leave some lasting scars on the ego of any surviving voth..
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Voth don't have a great sense of humor especially from lowly apes.

The dreads shields are crazy high regen and hit points. I have a full tetryon build with my one alt and I can't even dent those shields with sustained fire
That is kinda... Odd. Putting aside that Tet has one of the most useless 2nd trait according to most people, I'm also using this type of beam. Granted the shield burn would either be good or bad depending on which enemy you're facing because seriously opponents without a shield makes this weapon useless, Tet does have many damage modifiers compensating for the lack of usefulness against targets without shields. And those modifiers is some sets have great burst damage.
Maybe the Tet's other mods? perhaps this is the reason why you couldn't dent those shields. Anyway I just really find it odd though.
As for the OP:
I have alts that uses the standard ships given to F2P's. One of my alt a SCI is just flying a standard NPC Interprid ship. Yet I never get blown-up that bad when I do the breech. I'm not even using most of my sci skills when doing that queue. I just BFAW the hell out of that queue since I think The Breach normal is ridiculously easy. Granted I did have times at least trice I think where I have to go all out using my alt's abilities the longest I had trouble with that dread is 20 minutes. and only 2 of us is actually doing something against it while it's either someone got DC'd, stuck or just don't do any damage at all. Still that wasn't a real problem. I was 51 with my sci when I started doing that queue.
But I do know that most people don't bother to actually up grade some of their alts. Which I think could be a problem. Even a Mirror universe type ship that has decent armaments can finish that queue, granted depending on your team may take a while but still viable. Heck somewhere here in the forums there was even a video showcasing a MU ship doing ISA with F2P setup and ISA is much harder than the Breach.
So the question is did your alt at least have some decent gear? you don't have to go for Mk.14's since I myself on my sci and other tact finished that queue at just modest VR Mk.12 weapons and for the record my sci haven't even have 1 rep gear at all and just run exchange or drop consoles.
So it's either your too much under geared or just plain badluck on a team... still man if it was about the team I really can't say much because I did get stuck with bad teams yet never did we fail. I always try to compensate for what the team lacks and ask nicely for some coop since a Queue isn't a 1 man queue anyway and we all want to finish it.

Just did a run using plasma weapons on a Rezreth. That stage wasn't very painful. Why? Elite Plesh frigates. Power draining the dread takes the bite out of it. Also, you don't have to totally offline shields for shield power drain to be useful. Shield HP is a function of shield power level. But for NPCs they act as if their shield power has 100 base power. So it takes a good bit of effort to drop it to 0, but 50? well that halves their shield HP or so.
