When will we get a T6 Ambassador and Sovereign?

Hi there,

I'm usualy just reading here, but now I'm getting seriously impatient.

When will we get the two ships in the title?

We already got the T6 Excelsior, Galaxy and Odyssey but shouldn't be there be a complete armada of T6 Enterprises? I understand that there wont be a T6 Constitution or Constitution Refit, but I think that all 1701 fans are getting impatient because of missing Ambassador and Sovereign.

Well in a way the T6 Ambassador was the Guardian class we got when DR launched. Some of its styling follows quite closely with what you'd expect from an evolution of the design: large nacelles with a rounded hull and the "ridges" on the neck. As for the Sovereign though, yeah I'd love to see that. However let's give them time they've released quite a few ships of late so I'm sure it's time will come :).

    Yeah I really don't see a T6 Ambassador happening.
Even the T5 version was "only" released as a promotional reward.

Another fun tid-bit, the Guardian follows closely with the original Ambassador concept art (especially with the more restrained hull options. :))

Perhaps if the Guardian was called the Delegate, Envoy or Emissary the connection to the Ambassador class cruiser would be more apparent.

We just got a T6 Excelsior, and that is and *OLDER* ship than the Ambassador. So any kind of logic about ship age definitely has nothing to do with it.

Emmissary and Envoy are taken as names already by the T4 exploration cruiser and T5 starcruiser. Delegate sounds good though, would love a T6 Ambassador! The Guardian is sweet, but it isn't the same without the model obviously.

While I do agree that two of those names are already taken... that didn't stop the rename of the Avenger Star Cruiser to Sentinel when the Avenger Battlecruiser came out.

That is true. Interestingly enough they forgot to rename the Star Cruiser NPC, so you still see Avenger Sta Cruisers flying around lol

I do fly the Guardian personally, but I realized that it couldn't use the Ambassador skins if it wanted. It's way too big, almost Odyssey-sized. If they were to add the Ambassador to the Guardian template, they would have to shrink her.

Well if they keep to doing things the way they are, the T6 Sovereign will be just another cruiser, nothing special. The same problem with the T6 Defiant. Not nearly as powerful as a ship of their own design, like the Pilot escorts or the Intel Escort. They like to do that with the fan ships. Not in a hurry to see them, tbh.

The T6 Battlecruiser/Fleet Battlecruiser will be far superior, DPS wise.

I'm looking forward to a T6 Sovy. She may not be a specialist ship like the Pilot, Intel, or Command ships, but I'm pretty sure that it will have hybrid slots. Also the much needed model and texture revamp that comes with the T6 version like we saw with the previous canon ships that got T6 variants.
The T6 Battlecruiser/Fleet Battlecruiser will be far superior, DPS wise.

So... if I'm interpreting you correctly, you're already assuming something will be superior without knowing what an unreleased ship is capable of or you're waiting for a T6 Battlecruiser to come out.

    If its the latter...
    ArbiterBattlecruiser.jpg
    Already exists.
If its the former... wait until you see stats at least. Not everything has to be a DPS race. Any ship is viable with a decent build. For all you know a T6 Assault Cruiser Refit might come with Intel seating for OSS or Command seating for Suppression Barrage.

I might sound old fashioned or strange, but me as an engineer prefer to fly an Enterprise. Thats why I would like to have T6 versions of all of them (yes I know there will never be a T6 Constitution or Constitution refit :disappointed: ).

    P.S.:
Allthough I must admit that I did some experiments ^^ T6 Heavy Escort Carrier, Vesta, T6 Pathfinder (which i think is more interesting on eng than sci because of better survivalability) and many many many lockbox ships.

If you love the Ambassador so much, you can get the fleet version (Yamaguchi class), and upgrade her to T5-U.

With the Sovereign though, you have a very valid point. Many have been waiting patiently, but not quietly, for a long time, and it is the only canon cruiser yet to be released at T5/T6 (imo the Avenger/Arbiter, are just scuttled (and heavily refitted) Constitutions). The E of the Big E, is my favourite of them, and I look forward to purchasing it, because I have a feeling that it will be that awesome.

The Sojourner looks rather Ambassador like, use that skin on the Yorktown and good to go. Still using my T5U Fleet Ambassador myself. Don't want to see a T6 version, in lore so few were made, there wouldn't really be justification.

A new Advanced Support Cruiser class would make far more sense. KDF would however simply update the Kamarag again, and slap on the Advanced Support Battlecruiser tag, and we give Romulans a Advanced Support Warbird.

As for the Sovvy, release it as a Pilot spec command ship with ltpilot hybrid, alongside a T6 Vor'cha.

Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

I'd love to have a Guardian skin of Andy Roberts' design. Or a flat out ship of that design. Call it an "Ambassador II" or something.

Oh man, I'd love to have Cryptic straight-up pull Probert's design into the game. Just like they did a 1-for-1 copy of a Defiant concept as the T6 variant.

Yeah, it'll end up looking like the Guardian a bit. But I think there's something to be said for a lot of the 'classic' style Starfleet designs looking similar when there are enough variants of 'em.

The only reason why the Guardian isn't compatible with the Ambassador is, in my opinion, that the Ambassador was never "officially" in the game, it's not a store purchase. If it had been, the Guardian would certainly be a Guardian Support Cruiser and would probably be scaled down a bit to fit the Ambassador parts, which would also make much more sense.

I find the overabundance of superheavy cruisers in this game a bit off-putting, tbh.

If I wanted to "headcanon" (or fanwank) it, I think that every ship these days is build with unique characteristics anyway, unless they are literally started and finished at the same time, to incorporate any new tech developments as soon possible. They are so good at rapid prototyping thanks to computer and holodeck simulations that there is no real advantage to re-using a ship frame anymore. On top of that, they also build them as modular as possible so you could still combine different components. The experience they make buildnig these ships together and then letting them go into service are immediately applied on the next batch of ships - be it a new class or even just a new model of a previous one.

T6 Sovereign is bound to happen at some point. It's the only full cannon modern ship we've not seen in the game at T6 yet and it's definitely popular with players.

As for the Guardian, I actually think it's the best looking fed ship in the game right now. The Flagships are nice and all but some of their design is a bit off and just doesn't gel well in my view, and the Command cruisers are very good ships, but look a bit weird.
The Guardian just looks the part, right size, proportions, shapes for that traditional Startfleet feel. And it can be a fairly decent ship if you build it right. I'd be happy to fly it any time. If it could use the Ambassador skin it could be pretty neat though.

    Sure thing.

The first ship is the Resolute class with an Excelsior Saucer and Pylons. Type 7 material.

The second ship is an Akira class with a Zephyr hull and the Alita class nacelles. Again, type 7 material.

We just got a T6 Excelsior, and that is and *OLDER* ship than the Ambassador. So any kind of logic about ship age definitely has nothing to do with it.

Exactly, thats why I think we should get a T6 Ambassador too :D

OR simply unlock the Ambassador skin for the Guardian, like they did with the Resolute and the Excelsior.

Honestly, a T6 Ambassador would pretty much already be the Guardian class.

That won't happen because...money. They already made money from the people who bought the Guardian, and they want to make *more* money from those *same* people who might also want a T6 Ambassador. So if they do make a T6 Ambassador, you can count on it being a new ship that no one has bought yet, not simply adding the Ambassador unlock to an existing ship.

The thing is, yeah I'd normally agree with that, but in the case of the Guardian and the Ambassador, that might be next to impossible to do.
Other than a difference in size (the Guardian being slightly larger and holding a few hundred more people than the Ambassador), the Guardian's stats really do kinda play out the way you'd imagine a T6 Ambassador class' would. There really wouldn't be any significant way to improve it that wasn't redundant or superfluous; the Guardian already does everything a T6 Ambassador should do.

Like, in the case of the Resolute/Excelsior, the dev team kinda seemed to realize they could kill two birds with one stone on that one: release a new T6 ship that also has access to a legacy ship's parts in the tailor, satisfying people who both want a new ship and a T6 version of a legacy ship. They may have realized they should have done with with the Guardian by that time, too, but it would likely be a case of "too little, too late" and may now have difficulties in justifying doing so now.

I liked the Abassador so much I bought a fleet varient but rarely fly it unfortunatly with all the new T6 ships. Looks amazing in game though, very classy.
Its in my top 3 for fav iconic ships.
    Would buy a T6 in a heartbeat.
+Yesterday's Enterprise is a great episode.
