Not really. I buy lobi ships because I want to have an unique ship for some characters. Having them available on all characters for a small fee would make them less special.
of course we would, that seems hardly like an equitable price for Cryptic.
Then there is the idea that the last thing Cryptic would want would be accounts full of alts with the most elite ships grinding dilithium all day long.
All that said, it would be absolutely game making for me to be able to use all my lobi ships as they were account bound. I hope they dont do it because I dont think I could stop myself from spending more money.

No. I might pay it to get the few I had on my old main to my current main that I'm collecting ships on, though. It would be cheaper than buying them again. Especially the old JHAS.
I might be willing to pay a bit more (800z to 1000z) to propagate my one Tarantula to an alt. I'd pay 2000z to let any/all of my captains use it. Similar story with a lower cost for my Xindi-Aquatic Narcine Carrier and Tal Shiar Adaplted ships.
I think the real cut-off point in pricing would be 'do they/don't they have a ship skill associated with them?'
I certainly would.... if it didn't also take me another trillion Dilithium to Upgrade my beloved Rom alt in the process. Otherwise, 500 Zen, in order to be able to use a lockbox ship (you alreadt possess on another toon), would be a sweet deal.
Hell yes I would! Most of the ships I have on my main toon are lockbox ones and I have concentrated on my main toon because of things like console sets. 500 zen to unlock even a single ship on an alt would be a more than reasonable proposition. I think it would strike a good balance between maintaining exclusivity and adding a lot more value to existing purchases.
You've got my vote. You'd have more than one if I could.
are you talking about an account unlock or a re-boxing inter account transfer fee, your question "Would you pay 500 zen to use a Lockbox ship on an ALT?" implies the latter though many responders seem to think its the former.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

I was thinking more like an unlock. =D
then surly you question should not say "an alt" that suggests only one, though TBH I seem to be the only one who noticed. LOL

It has always annoyed me to get a lockbox or lobi ship opened up on a character and yet be forced to choose which of my characters I want it on.
I can't reclaim it if I dismiss it for whatever reason, I can't use it on any alt if I find out it doesn't work as well on the character I'm currently using it on, and I WON'T spend to get the same ship again via the lockboxes no matter how much I might want it again.
Now, while this isn't my favorite suggested method, it'd certainly be something I'm more open to. Preferably, I feel if you unlock a ship, especially a lockbox ship, it should be account-wide and free (after the initial purchase, whether from another player in-game or from the lockbox/lobi/Zen store vendor itself). However, if Perfect World and Cryptic really want to squeeze money out of us with lockbox junk, then this suggested idea is as far as I'd go, and only for a max of 500 Zen.
Just to clarify, I assume this suggestion means paying a fee of 500 Zen to unlock a lockbox ship account-wide.
The Old Republic does something similar with its collections system (as in acquiring the "lockbox" item and then unlocking it afterwards for the entire account), though it does it on a much bigger scale that I really do NOT want STO to go so far as doing, but for lockbox ships (and maybe other lockbox/lobi gear), I'd grudgingly accept it as long as the price doesn't gauge me.
Again, having spent far too much on STO as it is, I urge the devs and their bosses to consider being generous to the people who've spent so much already. I'm far more willing to spend if it's something account-wide and reasonably-priced, even if it's paying to open up a lockbox ship account-wide that I already paid for.
Yup, I have a temporal science ship I would love to move to my new Sci...but I refuse to sell a kidney on the Exchange to get one. Of course without reading the thread...I suspect the exchange profiteers will hate this idea.
500 sounds like a really sweet deal. Hell yes I would pay that. But I doubt they would ever offer such a thing so cheaply.
Personally i would pay several times that just to be able to get a duplicate of certain ships i have unlocked on even a single alt, would probably still be cheaper than what it cost me to get it on the first char...
While I voted yes, I suspect to actually make a feature like this not make them loose money on lock boxes, they'd have to charge significantly more than 500 Zen.
But, if offered the opportunity for the low price of 500 Zen, I'd use it.

A lot of people don't try and get the ships because you can only use them on one toon.
I think this would incentivize people to try more for lockbox ships. More try's = More key's = More Zen = More $.
Instead of an account unlock I think maybe a ship transfer requisition? You get the open the ship and then you can move it to another character on your account. All that it would do is make that already opened ship account bound and transferable between character. If you wanted another one you would still have to get keys or save EC. That would get me try/buy more.
Hell ya! I'd love to be able to transfer a ship to another toon. Especially since alot of the lockbox/lobi ship combinations are of different classes that one of my toons wouldn't use both of the ships. For example, a console combo from a escort and sci ship. My Sci capt. would like the sci ship and both consoles, but would never really use the escort. So it'd be a huge waste to get it. So I don't get either one. If I could have my Sci capt. get the sci ship and my tac capt get the escort and both have access to the consoles, it'd be worth the $5 extra to actually get full use of both ships.
Or being able to give my JHAS or Timeship to a toon I'm leveling vs it just sitting in DryDock on a VA toon.
I'd pay $10 bucks (1000 ZEN) to be able to transfer it just once per ship to another toon. (then have it locked out from that feature)
There's a couple of my LB Ships that I would actually prefer to have on a different toon and this method would, IMHO, be fair for both the players and Cryptic/PWE.

I'd expect to pay 2,000 - 3,000 for an account-wide unlock.
That is a bit steep, I would match the higest priced ship in the zen store, which is probably 3000.

To be clear, though, flatly refuse to buy keys, either. Gamble box loot drops are an immediate "discard" for me.
