really guys first you couldn't get the calandar posted and now the calandar you posted is wrong. when you post things follow through on them. Not like our last starbase upgrade event that was supposed to run til 12 noon and you stopped it a 9 or 10 am. i would like to think that the developers here are more reliable than weathermen and politicians.
The Calendar In-Game, probably to tomorrow's patch still shows, Bonus Experience Weekend. You wouldtink they could set up the Calendar to not require a patch to update.

THis is wrong, Come on....I was counting on XP event not mark event. I am getting a little sick and tired of the consistant lies and changes made by who ever is the person that does it. IT's not right and screws with players.
We will be updating the in-game calendar to reflect the change to the Marks Weekend Event!
WHAT!? SERIOUSLY!? Two weeks ago I saw that this XP weekend was coming up and made plans to finally level my romulan and klingon alts ... I literally have no reason to play this weekend if that's been canceled ... I really couldn't care less about marks ... was waiting for my tax money so I can grab the T6 flagship bundle but instead I think I'm just going to play something else for the next 6 months or so. Not gonna say I'm quitting cause I'm a lifer and i know I'll be back, but Jesus am I disappointed right now.
Why do you need a special event to level characters? I can go from level 1 to level 50 in about 4-6 hours of total playing time doing nothing but story missions.
Because I don't particularly care too much for Romulans or Klingons, at least not as much as my Feds, so I want the most xp for my time I can get when I play through those faction stories. I also want to avoid the situation I've had on 3 separate fed toons where I get to about level 55ish and have no more story missions available to me. And finally, as a father of 3 kids 4 and under, I don't exactly have much time to dedicate to leveling in the first place.

I have 4 children under my roof (2 mine 2 steps), a 3 year old, 7 year old, 9 year old, and 11 year old with special needs. I also have a 14 year old who lives with my ex-wife. *shrug
I think the point here is the "bait and switch". Fact is, they have an in game calendar that lots of players use to make plans by and they swapped stuff out after it had been posted for long enough for folks to plan ahead. It's not like this is the first time...and it likely won't be the last, unless people speak up about it (even then it might not matter). Why, if they made a mistake couldn't they "own up" and correct it by *adding* the Marks Event to the XP (or at least after the XP Event)? As has been said, what is the point of having the calendar and using it to allow people time to plan ahead for things if they can (and do) change it "at a whim"?
Y'know, I can't help but shake my head here. It's these kind of thoughtless, last minute changes (amongst other things) that landed Cryptic with a portion of Neverwinter's player-base encouraging a certain pain in the patootie to DDoS the servers.
Don't say you're going to do one thing and then go do something else instead. The decision to suddenly change the calendar last minute, regardless of whether it was a mistake or not, is just adding fuel to the fire.
These days, it seems the only thing Cryptic manages to do that is consistent, is draw the ire of their playerbase. I just don't understand why they so often seem dead-set on shooting themselves in the proverbial foot like this. I guess they haven't unlocked the Common Sense trait, yet.
To think, I used to try and convince people to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I doff for xp on lowbies. It's quick and it actually can get levels reasonably fast.

Imho doffing is one of the dumbest things they've added to this game ... WoW included something very similar in the last expansion, but borderline mandatory, and I haven't played since about a month after it was released.
Yes I am upset as well. What is point of having a calendar if events you put on it change the day before. I am sure others also went off that calendar and got things ready for any leveling they had planned. Whatever the reason is I sure hope it was worth cancelling. Maybe we are going to have Temporal Characters, just like the Delta Characters, wouldn't mind that.
To the person who said it only takes 4-6 hours, I would love to see and watch it in real time. I play the game a great deal and even with my toons being given ultra-rare to epic gear at low levels it still takes the better part of day to pick up about 25 levels and that is with the bonus xp running. Even with doff missions, since most take longer than an hour and don't award that much experience, this would be a feat worth seeing. Now Romulan toons can go up pretty fast, saw that when I created it along a feddie, this rom-kdf toon reached the 40's while the feds in the same time period got only into their 20's and that was with alot of doff help. The way I was able to match the two up, is one day was devoted to each toon during the most recent bonus xp weekend and even with doing everything as fast as I could the fed only could get to the 20's, despite even being given some extra time.

Shhh, they'll nerf it.
I thought they already did?
They did Nerf it... the patch this week isn't going to be until Friday.
That means one day less for the weekend event.

We were referring to them nerfing the doff system, since someone mentioned it being a good source of XP, and we all know this cannot be allowed. Earning large quantities of XP is totally verboten.
At this point I am willing to bet that Cryptic is simply trolling Just like Dental does it, I'd get their motivation - the amount of people that act like their lives have been totally ruined by this change is indeed a source for amusement
Mind you, this does not include the people simply questioning the use of the calendar and lack of communication, these are issues Cryptic should make a statement about. But to the others, seriously get your stuff together.

No, was regular xp, and still says it in game too
Regardless, even if it were crafting XP, that still would have been something "advertised" and changed the day before to a marks weekend.
