Captains! We're happy to announce that our Marks Weekend returns! From Thursday 2/18 at 9AM PST until Monday 2/22 at 10AM PST, Star Trek Online will be running a special weekend event where you can earn Bonus Fleet or Reputation Marks by playing content throughout the game!

    I was hoping to earn some xp and improve my specializations, but bonus marks are good too. :smile:
    • I still have toons that have yet to earn the rep gear I planned for them
    • I can turn any excess marks into dil

    I already have enough marks, and they are easy to do anyway. Some XP event would be better imo. BUT on the other hand if they postpone this normal XP event for a better one aka "fill this stuff this week to enjoy rewards next one" i'd wouldn't say no :).

      Any particular reason why this was changed the day before the XP bonus weekend? I bought extra character slots from last weekend's ZEN bonus in anticipation of the bonus XP weekend.

      My maxed characters can use marks more than new characters need extra XP, so I'm not too disappointed but just would like to know why the change was made so late.

      The calender serves no purpose if you change events at short notice, please stick to it or remove it.

      This is ridiculous... I was deathly ill last bonus xp weekend and couldn't level up my second toon. Now, there is gonna be a bonus mark weekend and my second toon can't even do rep yet and needs to level up to use the gear that will actually make a difference that I crafted last weekend.. My primary toon is done with all rep except iconian..

      I agree with evs2011.. what is the point of the in-game calendar if everything is just gonna be changed 24 hours before anyway.

      Boo.

      The calendar has shown a bonus XP weekend for quite a while. You should stick to your calendar (or even better just normalize rewards in-game).

      WHAT!? SERIOUSLY!? Two weeks ago I saw that this XP weekend was coming up and made plans to finally level my romulan and klingon alts ... I literally have no reason to play this weekend if that's been canceled ...       Personally, I don't really care about the change from xp to marks. But I am simply curious, why did this change occur? Who decides this, and why?

      The real news is: don't trust the calendar, expect anything, and don't bother preparing.

      Also, 2 really good events (Dil and Bonus Marks) overlapping the Omega event now. At least the shuttle event hasn't happened at the same time.

      Look forward anyways as I can only farm so much Omega per day.

      I just want to point out that on the announcement page for this on arc, the picture with all the people and marks above them is missing the iconian and terran marks :)

I mean, they actually *control* what type of weekend they put in, so it's not like the marks weekend was some unstoppable force of nature that they had to go with even if the calendar was wrong. Again, I'm not upset by this at all, I'm just curious why they act the way they do about these things :p

      Ok, will the Omega Awards that you can run after you Unlock the Krenim ship be eligible for the Bonus? I noticed lately that the ambiguous terminology has been used to indicate what gets the Bonus - 'content that is eligible'.

      I guess that prevents the problem like all the Announcements that indicated that Bonuses apply to this and that and including such and such (for both Dilithium and Marks). Then the EP or Devs come back at a later date and announce that they are removing the Bonus from the thises or thats because you players were exploiting, in effect, what we told you that you could do.

      Did anyone see any announcement that, even though the Dilithium Rewards from Admiralty were eligible for the Bonus, the 30k award from completing the 10 of 10 KDF Tour of Duty was not. The beauty of using 'content that is eligible'. It lets you redefine that any time you want.

      You just never know, perhaps it is an unstoppable force and FAW doesn't do anything!

      They previously had an error where none of weekend events were showing. Perhaps we should stick with that calendar instead? ;)

      This. We use the calendar to prepare for events, buy things, reserve real life time to play this game.You added this calendar for this purpose and to encourage players to plan ahead. Changing this overnight with no prior announcement its not nice.
      Like he said, if you don't plan on sticking with your own calendar just remove it. Better than to give false info imo.

        Actually I'm pretty sure it was a Crafting Xp weekend and not a regular xp weekend anyways.
