As I understand it, you need the Krenim ship to complete the 4 piece set on the flagships? why? why was this done? I don't want to have to do the mission 3 or times just so I can get the Krenim ship. Why is Cryptic doing this? grind the same mission WAY too many times to make it any kind of 'fun'? this is a good way to alienate your player base even further.

The ships work fine individually. They pick up a little extra functionality as a group of three. They work a little bit more fine if you do the Anniversary event.
As to why... because that's been the pattern with Anniversary releases for 3 years now. I'm freshly returned to the game, so sure I have a bit of a frown that I missed some of the most powerful tools in the box from years gone by, but I try to make up the difference with low animal cunning .

But at least there is an added incentive to play Time and Tide once per week after maintenance on Thursdays and that is an account bound box that gives you a choice of 1 specialization point or an enhanced universal tech upgrade which is only awarded to the first character on the account that plays the mission.
Maybe.....Maybe not...but Im not going to beat them up over it. Never again!!

IMO, it is a small amount of effort to exert to obtain free stuff.
Mirror, Mirror warns against a future where a Terran Empire ravages the galaxy led by the ISS Enterprise.
In the 2000s, the biggest space station we build is called the ISS.
I am concerned.
Yeah, I don't get the issue. It's a remarkably trivial effort for a T6 ship. Even easier than the Winter/Summer ships. And certainly vastly easier than grinding 3000zen worth of Dil to buy a T6 ship off the C-store.
Still, people might decide that the ship isn't worth getting right now. It's a science ship, there's a lot of people in the game who don't have a sci character or who prefer cruisers or tac ships. If they decide to explore the science ships a bit in, say, a couple of months, they'll note that they have no chance of getting this ship and its gear ever again even though they pay a couple of thousand zen for the rest of the set.
At te very least they should make sets available through other means. Paying 2500-12000 zen for a ship or nine of them and not being able to fully use it, isn't right.
Not to mention that, as I have stated before, this exclusivity thing isn't a very wise thing to do at all since everyone suffers from this policy, from access to ships for players to potential income for the game and its owners.

I keep saying that: realistically, who slots a grand total of 4 gimmicky consoles on a permanent basis?! (After the initial excitement wears off). Not me, at least: eventually I almost always revert to regular loadouts (except maybe for the Assault Mode Relays, put on the Vaadwaur Manasa Assault Escort: that's a definite keeper).
I slot more if I have them.
My Valiant, for example, is running Isometric Charge, the three-piece Defiant set, Impulse Capacitance Cell, and Photonic Displacer.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
Seriously, I'm not even slightly upset by this, but a boneheaded decision is a boneheaded decision nevertheless. Tying up console sets from C-Store (and fairly expensive) bundles of ships that cost real money with limited issue promotional ships (especialy since the new direction of not being able to acquire this year's event ship next year as it used to be before the summer event 2015) is just plain stupid in my book. It was dumb when they did it with the Samsar and it's even dumber now because they've repeated the same mistake.
This one doesn't seem too bad for a science though - if you convert to polaron and use a torpedo. +21.6% exotic damage/+33.2 energy damage for 15 seconds with 3 pieces or for 30 seconds with 4. Still, a 2 minute cooldown but you can do a lot of exotics in 30 seconds. I am not sure I want to give up my emission torpedo for this one so the 4-piece probably won't happen. Unless this torpedo does some really nice magic. (Buff seems based on Aux power though the info doesn't state such as popping a battery gives 22.1% and 33.5%. Capped at 130 and have 129 going in, battery doesn't juice me much).
The 4th piece set bonus is not that great to begin with. Honestly, if you are using all 3 flagship consoles on one ship anyways, you are doing it wrong. Group up with me, ill run a parser and I will gladly show your DPS to you and explain why it will be in the bottom tier. lmk! :-)
^^ This 100%. Extremely gimmicky. Pick one console, stick with it. There are over one hundred different options that will increase your dps. If you people do not believe it, I will jump in my T6 oddy with the flagship computer only, you equip all that garbage and then I will show you why all those universals will not get you close to decent Encounter DPS..you might pull 10k.

I would hope so. This game is about DPS. It is a DPS race. If they are doing group content, then yes it is. That's all anyone wants right? To jump into an advanced or elite Q and have people pulling 10k or less. Thus failing optional or the entire mission. In content like that, everyone in the group needs to pull their own weight. There is no carrying people. I see the parser every time, and 9 times out of 10 when the mission failed, there was at least 2 people pulling less than 10k.
