This lockbox seems...lazy. EVERYTHING is already in-game. The pets are just smaller variants without the texture maps. There is NOTHING new. It's just more copypasta.
Also, its getting out of hand that we can now pilot Enemy NPC Mobs Boss ships now. Those should be off-limits. But yeah, like the above poster said, I'm sure we'll get a Voth Citadel and Borg Diamond soon enough.
For the most part, this is how lockboxes have always worked. We got a few original ships lately, but in the long run many lockbox assets have historically already been in the game. The Cardassian, Tholian, Dominion, Elachi, Voth, Undine, Delta, Vaadwaur, and Herald lockboxes all had their assets in game before they came out, and the Hirogen replaced the old ships when it launched.
Why? Because art assets are expensive, and a lot of people like the ships they see in game and have wanted to fly them - in this box, the Tholians have been requested many, many times over the years since the Tarantula first appeared.
If nothing else, having the ships appear in the lockboxes upgrades those thips in game. You can bet that the Tholian ships in game will in the near future be using the powers from the consoles on the ship and from the pack in their PvE incarnations.
Yes and no. This box TAKES THE CAKE as it's using assets that have been in the game for YEARS. The only thing new is the temporal dread, really, and the traits. The other lockboxes generally had more stuff. But flying boss-level ships is absurd.
Honestly, a better option would be a special mirror variant of the fed Dread.
That's actually wrong. This box has pretty much the exact same stuff in it as every other box. One big ship, one small ship, one console pack, one weapon pack, one trait pack. The only thing missing this time is the ground kits, and frankly I can do without them.
The Lobi store stuff has been more varied over the years, but usually have one ship, one uniform or armor (more this time, it appears), one weapon (once again, it appears we have more than one this time - probably a good thing as you can pick the one you want instead of "this time we're giving you a wide arc pistol"), a space item set (missing this time, probably because of the multiple uniforms and weapons), a pet, and usually some consumables.
So, given the fact that even ONE of the ships is actually new, this box and its Lobi compliment is actually better than the ones I listed above (which have no new ships at all), and in other ways is slightly different but not really worse.
As for the boss ships, yeah, I don't totally disagree, but now that they have defined what a dreadnought cruiser is (and have seen how popular that class has been with players), it only makes sense they hand out the various race's versions of them, which happen to be the boss ships.
Oh, and releasing a mirror dreadnought in the boxes/lobi store will just plain not happen; it would directly compete with the one in the C-Store, and they have been very careful to not make anything you get from there be available for ECs in game. It's probably something with their contract with CBS and royalties they need to pay them.
Guys, the Lobi store is far more accessible than a lockbox prize.
It isn't clear altogether whether both Terran uniforms are for Lobi or if one is C-Store but it is a fairly exotic uniform. I'd be curious to see the Romulan and Klingon uniforms mentioned, actually, and whether exchange officers can wear those since it's unlikely Feds can open the Klingon box or vice versa. (I tried getting the Korath unlocked on my Fed for my BOs that wear Klingon uniforms and it doesn't work. I really want my Gorn in a Korath but since I can't open a Korath and the Wells doesn't unlock the Korath for BOs, it's a bit frustrating.)
I was terrified the Temporal Dreadnought was going to be a lockbox grand prize or an R&D pack grand prize. Being Lobi makes it accessible. It will continue to be accessible. It also PROBABLY means that the EC price on the exchange is more likely to drop over time for those who can't or won't directly spend. They aren't going to stop dropping.
I would like to see what Temporal synergies it has. It seems like it should be able to use the Mobius console and possibly any timeship console -- and MAYBE the Krenim consoles. Likewise the Krenim ship should be able to use, at least, the Krenim ship consoles and possibly any timeship console. Any of these could mean we're in for new set bonuses.
Since the new Krenim console can be used on any ship, maybe it will have a set bonus with Temporal Warfare set?

You and me both on the grand prize. The other thing you can do is hop into the trading channel and just offer 150-160m EC for someone to buy to for you. That sort of thing happens all the time with people wanting EC but not wanting to deal with competing with 50 other people on the Exchange. They take a little less than the typical asking price for a lobi ship, but get the money immediately rather than waiting several days and then having to re-offer it on the exchange. Chances are if they have 800 lobi floating around, 10m EC less isn't as big a deal as waiting.
Just out of curiosity, who would buy those sonic phasers against tholians when you have the CRM-2000
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
Temporal dread.... WANT! Shame that lockboxes give such a low amount of lobi.
I honestly doubted that one would ever make it into the game as player ship... Really The Tarauntula should be a lobi ship for how powerful they are in a fight.
Why do I still play and put money into STO?

Probably just aesthetics mostly. I assume that these weapons will be like other Lobi ones, which generally are about 10% higher DPS than other equivalent weapons. The CRM is a bit on the low end damage wise, so it might be worth it, but I generally wouldn't ever recommend "target specific" weapons unless you absolutely know you will be fighting them constantly across the next few FEs [cough cough].

For myself i love the fact that the CRM freezes the target. Also quite useful against the undine.

Ok... There is only one thing in the 'verse that can express my feelings right now. Please forgive the content, its the only thing I can think of that works.
MIRROR UNIFORMS! YEEHAW! My EC Wallet will never rest in piece after this!
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

I have to add my 2EC. I was actually ready to come home and buy Zen to purchase the Mirror uniforms. Lobi store? Seriously!? Wrong on so many levels. And Char not account bound? Well you just lost a Zen sale. Thanks for nothing as I was thoroughly excited until that.
Seriously I been wanting the tarantula since I first saw it wayyyy back when i started (i joined when legacy of romulus happened). I will get that T5 mesh weaver as well and use the giveaway starship upgrade token we got months back, and of course the krenim science vessel.
I'm going to end up spending 50+ bucks on zen this time, dammit. I have opened up over 200 boxes and no grand prize ship, but if there is a ship that I MUST win, it's the tarantula.

Might I suggest spamming any Admiralty assignments that are EC heavy as well? If your luck doesn't hold out, then just save up to outright buy one off the exchange.

Color me disappointed about the uniforms. I mean when they first showed up many of us were like " OOOOW YEAH WE WANT THOSE!" Cryptic was like " Nope! Cant have them!" We be like " But we would pay Zen for them!" Cryptic was silent for a long time then " OOOOOOOOK FINE! You can have them! But we are going to put them in the Lobi store, meaning that you have to buy them for EVERY character you have!" We be like " But the only way to get Lobi is by opening your stupid lockboxes!" Cryptic rubs hands together " Genius I know!" Players close wallet walks away shaking head at the missed opportunity.....
Very upsetting....

Holy hell, am i the only person that likes the lockbox? everywhere i look all i see is people hating on a feature, That is completely optional! just quit complaining and enjoy the game, if you don't like the way it's done then don't participate...
Personally I'm quite looking forward to it especially the Mesh Weaver!

Alliance engineers have also salvaged some examples of advanced Terran Empire technology in the form of Terran Empire Kits. These Terran Empire Kit Packs grant you a kit appropriate to your career and level. In addition to offering standard skill bonuses, each kit frame also enhances the duration of your Control-type powers.
Actually you're wrong as it does include kits in them. Read the above and you'll see that you overlooked the part that mentioned it.

Those are going to be in the Lobi Store? If so, I can't be bothered! If they were int he C-Store, they would be a guaranteed purchase for me at the point they went live. Disappointing PWE! Very disappointing! @pwlaughingtrendy. Can you please confirm if these uniforms will be Lobi Store purchases or C-Store account wide purchases?
I'm seeing a lot about the Mirror uniforms supposedly being a Lobi store purchase... can someone point out to me where that it specifically said? Because I'm still holding out for a C-store deal here... I don't want to be grinding dil for no reason (other than a pretty new ship for my Fed Tac, but that's besides the point.)

Its not specifically said. Based on previous lockboxes that also had a costume unlock... history says its going to be Lobi Store.

It would make more sense if they opened Nukara to bridge officers and/or announced a new Tholian Adventure Zone. Between the number of photonic BOffs floating around now and the number of high grade EV suits, it feels like we should have an environmental hazard adventure zone that allows BOffs.
*Still waiting for new costumes available in Tailor (for the Free-to-Players) and the C-Store*
Which reminds me, when are we going to get the ST:OS Mirror Universe Captain Kirk's sleeveless wrap-around tunic? It should either be retroactively added to the Mirror Universe set in the C-Store, or be available as a separate unlock (probably with 23rd Century versions of Klingon and Romulan uniforms).

It would also be nice if they fixed all the missing costume pieces and parts that are supposed to be uniform and off-duty that have gone missing from the off-duty section. But, kinda hoping they revamp the tailor system altogether. It's rather laggy and could use a little TLC and more customization (like using parts from armor sets on standard uniforms).
