Mystery Plasma Rifle

I noticed a very unusualweapon while playing with the character creation the other day. If you create Romulan-aligned character and hold your cursor over the Tactical Officer icon on the Species/Career screen, a small image appears showing a Reman and two Romulan Tactical Officers. The Reman is holding a very unusual looking rifle. From its design and resemblance to other in game weapons, I take it to be some sort of plasma sniper rifle, but I don't know for sure. Can anyone tell me what this rifle actually is and how to get it? I collect unusual weapons, and this one would make a fine addition to my armory. Thanks for any and all help!

May be referring to the republic plasma weapons that were added with LOR.

Now the dilithium weapons store is closed the only place to get them are romulan standard equipment vendors (including those with the Dyson Joint Command, for FED and KDF). They offer white variants up to Mk IX for a small amount of EC but you can upgrade those for higher rarities and mods (start with Mk II and work up.)

Thanks for the responses guys, I will get a screenshot up asap. It isn't one of the Romulan rep weapons, but it does look like it fits into the republic plasma weapon set, though none of the current vendors carry it and I can't find it in any of the weapons lists from the dilithium weapons store on the wiki either.

The dil store stuff was the same stuff you get from the ground gear vendor. But purple quality.

There were two very different Plasma Weapons that the Dilitium Weapons Vendor sold on New Romulus and the Dyson Joint Command Center. They were max Mk XI VR - they are upgradable. The Plasma Piercing Beam Rifle, as @duncanidaho11 mentioned above, and I believe the Plasma Repeater Pistol. People started Threads about those weapons and did not want to see them go. I had all my characters in existence at the time, when it looked like they were all going to disappear with the release of Crafting 2.0, pick them up. In point of fact while all other Dilitium Weapons Vendors were removed then, the Vendor in the Romulan Command Center got a two week reprieve before his inventory was confiscated (Cryptic missed him on the first go round).

There were requests since to have those special weapons made craftable as Special Projects in the Crafting System. The VR Mk XII Pistol can be obtained as a reward from 'Uneasy Allies'.

Upgrading from Mk I Common gets you to about Mk Vii with one Superior Tech. It just took me to about Mk XI or Mk XII to get them to VR.

The plasma piercing beam rifle is probably the most broken weapon in the game as a full away team with epic 14 versions annihilate anything and everything that crosses them borg being the 1 exception

I think white quality versions are still available at both New Romulus Command and Delta Command.

Oh ya they are still available and if you want a good plasma weapon that looks good it's your #1 choice and I would recommend the KB version if you can get it and load your away team with it jus5 focus fire on a target and it stays knocked into a wall

The one downside is they are white quality, so you would have to manually upgrade the quality.

Despite my best efforts, I can't take a screen shot of the screen that shows the weapon. If anyone cares to see it, just follow my instructions in my original post. I has a similar style to the piercing beam rifle, but is longer, has a heavier barrel and has a scope.

I was actually revisiting an old Jedi Academy screenshot/motivator I made years ago. Would have looked better if I had a yellow blade saber staff but... I was working off movie hilts.

does your keyboard have a print screen button? It might be abbreviated to something like "prt sc".

Ah, thanks so very much for doing that, whenever i tried only the background showed up in the screenshot. It's the rifle that the Reman is holding that I'm looking for.

The rifle the Reman is holding is the old Dilithium store "Plasma Wide Beam rifle Mk XI - very rare version" the art assets did not transfer over when they took them out of the Dilith store. The new Romulan vendor plasma weapon rifles don't seem to change appearance when you upgrade them. It's still a nice weapon when upgraded 1 of the only split-beam type exploit weapons that can hit 5 targets in 1 shot, same as a pulsewave can expose.

Thank yo so very much! Though I admit that I'm a bit disappointed, I was hoping that I had found a unique plasma sniper rifle, something that seems quite rare. It is very unfortunate that these weapons don't change their appearance as they level up any more....

You can buy one at the flotilla that is mk9(common). but if you upgrade it looks like the mk1.

yes, just double checked against 1 of the original wide beam dilith store plasma rifles i have and the graphics for it have been changed to the default standard without the popup scope the front end of the rifle is the giveaway you can compare a piercing beam [which appears to have a rifle front sight] with a wide beam which has the sloping front end without the front sight.
When we heard they were removing the dilith store i bought the wide beam rifle, piercing beam rifle and split beam pistol on all my characters with some also getting the repeating pistol i liked the weapon and they were a unique romulan style different from any other offering.
The pic you posted is how the Plasma wide beam dilith store rifle used to look many updates ago sadly it's graphics are gone even if you had the original version

My delta recruit has one of those plasma piercing beam rifle, I think I got it from a story mission. Got it, kept it and upgraded it as I got higher rank. Love that gun, once I got the hang of using effectively.
