And yes, I want to know if your Not Going also, but let's try to keep the inter-IP furor down to a dull roar.

Was going as it premièred on Thursday, decided to go the Sunday instead. I'll need to avoid the internet for 4 days .
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

I'm going to try to hold out until January, because the theaters will be insane. Hopefully people will be polite enough not to put spoilers in thread titles until then.

I was fifteen when the first one came out and It was very enjoyable. Looking back, it was one of the best experiences I've ever had in a movie theatre. I was filled with joy, delight, and wonder. I went out to the ticket booth and purchased another ticket for the next showing immediately.
Somehow, I do not think this one will be as magical an experience. I am quite sure Disney and JJAbrams and all the rest have done everything they can to make this a very good film. But all the hype and brou-ha-ha surrounding this one and leading up to it detracts from the experience. Heck, by the time the film arrives, most of the story will already be leaked out. It will be impossible to avoid learning all about the film before seeing it for the first time.
I want this one to be good. I want to enjoy it as much as I did the first one way back when. But it is competing against a legend. A legend which has tons of supporters. And I am afraid it will not live up to the magic and spectacle so many are hoping for.
A six year old boy and his starship. Living the dream.
Im not going my town no theatre even if it did id rather wait till i get the reviews of the film before id go if its bad then i avoid wasting my money if its good then i go see it.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Star Trek did good, I liked both and they had to live up to a few legends. But I had\have the same thoughts about both (Star Trek and Star Wars)
I'm going to the marathon on Thursday, then the midnight showing and then a 2:30am showing after that.
Your pain runs deep.
Let us explore it... together. Each man hides a secret pain. It must be exposed and reckoned with. It must be dragged from the darkness and forced into the light. Share your pain. Share your pain with me... and gain strength from the sharing.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone
Meh, if it's John Williams, not going to go for it. Williams is all right but I don't consider him as innovative as, say, Hans Zimmer.

I, Gorgonops, hereby declare to the governing body of the forums that I will not see The Force Awakens until this individual has read a complete plot spoiler. He shall not go unprepared for JJ again (and by that I'm also digging at Super 8. Really, that's who we're giving the keys to Star Wars to? I have a very strong urge right now to change my name to Wonko the Sane.)
That said I will see this movie at some point (if only for historical interest to see why the great collapse of western civilization occurred) but it just won't be in the mad rush to be there in the moment. I can take my time with this one. :P

Notable missions: Apex [AEI], Gemini [SSF], Trident [AEI], Evolution's Smile [SSF], Transcendence
Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
So, I just came back from the theater from Star Wars.
Jar Jar Binks is Kylo Ren, he used a ship to go back in time and destroy Tatooine, thus creating a whole new alternate universe in which anything is possible.
Other than that, I will give absolutely zero spoilers about this movie. Did I like it?
I have my tickets to the marathon that starts tonight at midnight and ends tomorrow at 7pm with the start of Force Awakens

Your father was captain of a starship for twelve minutes. He saved 800 lives, including your mother's, and yours.
I dare you to do better.
