Unable to load game after several months absence

I've been away from the game for a while. Annoying how real life gets in the way sometimes... Anyway, I can no longer get in the game. Its gets ever so far then It crashes and I get this error Message: Fatal Error: Direct3D driver returned error code (D3ERR_INVALIDCALL) while Creating pixel shader.
I've done everything I can think of.. Only change since last time I played the game was a much needed memory upgrade. Otherwise all hardware is the same.
I've gone over driver settings, uninstalled ARC and STO, reinstalled, still no good. I do have a couple tickets open with examples to them, but I haven't heard back in over 24 hours now...
I'm running Windows 7 (64bit)
5 GB Ram
Radeon X1600 Series Video card (which I know doesn't meet up with the listed requirements, but its never given me trouble previously)
Any thoughts, Suggestions?
