All I hear when I see someone says scimitard is: Waaaaaaah it's not fair that the romulans get a powerful dreadnought and me as a fed doesnt! It's not fair it's not fair IT'S NOT FAIR! Grow up already! Feds got way more ships and some are way better than the Scimitar Dreadnought and we got 1 really good ship a bunch of good ships and even more TRIBBLE ships!
While it is true that the Roms are somewhat neglected, it still is imperative for minmaxing that you roll one of them. This doesn't need to be perpetuated. And I would like to know which ships are "way better" than a T5U Scimitar. It would be of no use to Feds (would anybody think of the klingons?) to have more ship choice if none of them came close to what a potential T6 Scimi does.
Pilot escorts. And unless the T6 scimmy gets to do barrel rolls, I suspect these will kinda be top dogs for a while. And if the T6 scimmy does get it, then yeah...feel free to yell OP all you want. I'll join you then.
Pilot ships are indeed powerful, some even say OP themselves, but as far as I know still peak out at lower DPS as the Scimitar. Also, the Roms (and KDF) get pilot ships as well, so not really an argument that they are OP and the Rom vessels only "good".
My mother was an epohh and my father smelled of tulaberries
Also, Shinzon had single cannons equipped on the Scimitar. Shinzon was a noob.
Yeah, but he had, what?, 63 of them on his ship. That's alot of weapon slots!
Those are dual cannons...
At that point, I don't think it really matters. About the only things that will save you from 63 of ANY disruptor cannon type all targeting you is the Vesta Quantum Focused Shield Bubble, staying out of the firing arc, or Plot Armor.
Those who think it's an 'I win button' haven't actually flown one. .
Remember when it was first released and every noob and his mom was flying it? Exploding Scimitars everywhere.
I admit, I still laugh to myself when I see someone use that Thalaron Pulse. I can't believe anyone actually uses that thing.. but if they have fun blowing up for so little payoff then I guess good for them.
I actually use the pulse to great effect against AI opponents. Gravity Well first. Then I come to a full stop. Then either use Secondary Deflector or Quantum Singularity Manipulation. Then activate the pulse. I always find that the ships that got caught in it ALL have their shields and hulls badly broken down. Then I hit the throttle and make quick work of each of them.
"As with all living things, each according to his gifts."
Upon activation of Rapid Fire, Scatter volley or Singularity overcharge, the Ship places a subspace beacon. Upon expiration of the activated ability the ship is put back to where the beacon was placed.

I get great pleasure when my Scim dies and leaves a big green TRIBBLE cloud stinking up space!

Sadly, my fast google image search for something to photoshop for a JOKE didn't find someone showing off their single cannon Scimitar. Go figure...
I'm using STO game terms. And in STO, the Sovereign/Assault Cruiser/Regent is quite obsolete.
