Mirror Guardian cruiser

$10 bundle that seems to sold out that had a Mirror Guardian, I don't even know what that bundle was for. Anyone got any info on that mirror guardian cruiser? How is it any different to the normal guardian? I'd be quite pissed if it was better.

It just has a Terran Empire skin and a command seating instead of Intel.,still has the same console and Tier mastery.

I haven't really looked at it but it has command instead of intel? Well that's weird given the Leeta Boff comes with the intel specialization lol

Wouldn't of mattered anyway as the command seat is on eng.

I wonder if it has a fleet Version?

Mirror ships are T5, this one is different.
  • lordsteve1lordsteve1 Member Posts: 3,492 Arc User
It has no fleet version. But it's still more than capable at T6 so it will be of use to many people.
The other 2 ships in the bundle are just the regular T6 ships so they should have fleet versions.

Which confuses me because wouldn't most everyone rather have the normal Gaurdian then?

I was hoping in at least a slightly different trait and/or console, but it's exactly the same as a normal Guardian (I already own), so it's not a huge thing. Well, I suppose I can use the extra card at least!

EDIT: uhhh, did anyone check if the mirror skin is unlocked on a Fleet Guardian?

According to the main release thread, Mirror Guardian DOES NOT unlock the regular C-Store Guardian, and DOES NOT unlock the discount on the Fleet Guardian.

But the rest of the pack DO unlock the C-Store versions.

Some came packaged with an Omega 13 device, but nobody knows what it does.

So... I just don't understand the point.

    Whats Omega 13 device?

Edit: Nevermind, it was a stupid joke referencing the movie Galaxy Quest. Not a real thing on the ship. Tease subsided.

I honestly wouldn't mind the Command seating on the Guardian, but I couldn't afford it and I'm already flying a Fleet Guardian.

Yes, no way. It was a limited edition exclusive for a charity drive.

It MAY be that they get it out again for another special event. But I wouldn't hold my breath, another new exclusive would be more probable to get into people's wish list.

Still TRIBBLE that it is somehow sold out.

Exclusivity is what made those sales happen so fast. And prevented Cryptic from losing too much profit. It served it's purpose perfectly.

Mirror Guardian has Lt.Cmdr Sci, which makes this a useful stand-alone ship, and a replacement for my Fleet Support Cruiser. I have it running on all my Fed toons at the moment and it works quite well, and is a good cruiser for a Sci too.

Oh grow up! There were only 2500 of them and they sold out, so there's no BS there! You don't even elaborate how it's BS. You make it sound like only a few hundred play this game. Let me give you a hint....it's more than you think!

Biggest reason I wanted this was for the skin, which could then be applied to a Fleet Guardian. But, alas, no love from Cryptic for those of us who actually work for a living and weren't online to buy this pack the instant it was announced.

I would hope there wasn't any profit involved or little...the charity should get most or all of the money.

While I don't think it was BS, I do think it kinda sucks...I had no idea this event was happening...would of been nice to get a email or something about it. I was gone all day and I didn't get back till after the packs were all gone.

Cryptic didn't make any profit, in fact they lost about $150,000 or so in potential revenue by doing this.

    That's probably 2-3 DEV salaries.

    That's not entirely true.
Those $150,000 can be written off in taxes, that plus good publicity, so ultimately its a win-win for the company.
