I have the Pathfinder and the Scryer and neither are as much fun as the Vesta.
My Recipe for destruction: Max Aux and Part Gen. Equip Aux Cannons on the front, KCB and Breen transphasic cluster torpedo on the back. Grav Well, Cannon Scatter volley, rotate 180 degrees, Breen Torpedo, rotate 180 degrees. Rinse and repeat.
Not the Vesta. It still competes well and could make a good ship who doesn't want to spend as much but wants nice results. I still do not regret my purchase and have no intention of moving my toons that fly the Vesta into any other ship.
Seconded... I average 20K Dps in my Vesta T5U... I, like you, do not regret the purchase... in the slightest... great ship...
As stated, a T6 version will probably be available in 2016.
Just ask the the intrepid/pathfinder fans how it suck to pay for the same ship.....multiple times
You know that could be said for any ship at this point, how does one feel buying the same ship over and over...I say if its worth it, oh well. Specially the pathfinder with interior, loved the work Taco did, and hope he is allowed to do a galaxy interior at some point as well.
As for the Vesta, I bet she would hold her own still with T7 ship releases as a T5 (of course in the hands of a skilled captain at that point but still)
I eagerly await a T6 with intel seating and more aux weapon choices like turrets and or beams (keeping fingers crossed at least)
The Vesta was the ship I bought with my lifetime stipend when I came back after 2 years of absence. Pretty good investment. Back then, it was the best science vessel, both mechanically and visually being able to compete or exceed with my previous favorite, the Long Range Science Vessel Retrofit.
Currently I run the Pathfinder on 2 of my 3 Fed Scientists, and a Scryer on the 3rd. If there ever is a Tier 6 Vesta, I'll probably move to the Vesta on one of the 2 Pathfinder Captains.

Pretty cool. Better than buying a completely new ship without customization options. Sure, skins only used to be a lot of cheaper pre F2P, but of course, content droughts were also more common back then.

Seriously, aux-beams (either singles or duals) would make it a must buy for me.
It does rub me the wrong way that the andorian ships can have all their weaponry in the dilithium store but the vesta didn't get additional aux weaponry, just the cannons it comes with, when you need beams to use the subsystem targeting....
Seriously though, even if standard T6 package would be all it gets, it would still be one of the best sci ships in the game. If they throw in aux beams or something else nice it would be THE best.
If you get the T5 Vesta I'd actually recommend springing out for the full pack. The 3-piece console set is great for doing Tour the Galaxy every 20 hrs and the individual consoles can be a lot of fun.
By the way, for Vesta users- one of the consoles gives this invulnerability shield effect, I forgot its name - it's very useful during the Mirror event, at least it was the previous Mirror Invasion events. While the bubble is on, you are immune to damage and this also means immune to interrupts. So if all your ship-killing powers are on cooldown but you really want a rift closed, pop the bubble and interact away.

I still think that Aux weapons are a bad idea in the first place. The game needs more emphasis on memory management, not less. As it is now, the game could have a single energy level stat, all that power shifting features are irrelevant. Only Science vessels need to worry a tiny bit about the topic - except nowadays torpedo builds are competitive anyway, so even that went away. And no non-Science Vessel ever needed to worry about something else than weapon power.

Forget that!
I say give a potential T6 Vesta Intel, and keep Sci-Pilot for a T6 Nova! Seriously, the Nova is absolutely crying out for that in my opinion - it looks awesome using 'Rock N Roll' and dodging around using the Captain-based specalisation tree pilot abilities.
Intel makes sense to me, one of them is called "Multi-Mission Reconnaissance Explorer", after all. (The same would then be true for the old Tier 5 Recon Science Vesel aka Luna).
And the Nova definitely must be Pilot. Small, nimble... it screams it.

And another one is "Surveillance Explorer..." Intel certainly makes sense for them concept-wise, and nothing to sneer at from the power gaming standpoint.

An Intel T6 Vesta *drools*
Aux beams *drools*
Would love that.
And if OP likes the ship, I say go for it, as others have mentioned, not only does it still perform very well, but it might just be the nicest looking FED ship in the game (imo of course).
The Admiralty card is pretty impressive as well.
You can solo quite a few admiralty missions with the vesta cards (they get +35 to either Engi/Tac/Sci when alone.
It does rub me the wrong way that the andorian ships can have all their weaponry in the dilithium store but the vesta didn't get additional aux weaponry, just the cannons it comes with, when you need beams to use the subsystem targeting....
Don't feel too jealous, BTW. The Andorian weapons in the dil store don't upgrade. At all.
Currently using T6 Pathfinder on my SCI guy. Vesta looks good, thinking Rademaker. Pathfinder has 2 tac consoles Rademaker has 4.
Any feed back?
I use the 5 sci console version. This is my first character's first real ship. I am completely satisfied with it. I actually don't use the aux cannons but with leech have max shield, weapon and aux power. Something like 360 particles. I use 2 tactical boffs for it but if I changed the ltcdr to sci and got Graga it would break 30,000. But I like using a pure tac/sci hybrid with monster well, grav torpedo spread3 and faw. This does 20-25,000.

I just clocked in at shy of 20K as well, and still have some work to do on the toon that I'm using the ship with.

I... don't know if I'd get a T6 Vesta. The one I have, I'm really happy with. The T6 refit isn't likely to get all that much of an upgrade, either - if it did get a noticeable upgrade, there's a significant chance it'd end up OP out of the box.
Depends on what the style / console / set bonuses are, I suppose. I do hope that they bring in Mark Rademaker for consultation on the design for any T6 variants, though.

I'll definitely be looking at the stats on a T6 Vesta closely and now that I have the T6 Valiant/B'rel it is at the top of my C-Store wish list. That said, I've accumulated enough Ship Mastery traits that I could easily go back to a T5U Vesta and be perfectly happy.
If there's a Klingon and Romulan version of the Vesta, I'd be inclined to get the whole pack, even if I have to visit paypal to get the rest of the zen. If Vesta is going to be Fed only, I'll do well enough with the Pathfinder.

Well at one point in a silly pipe dream there was talks about the kdf and rom getting a sci vessel close to the vesta when vesta first launched considering the amazing amount of awesome the ship still is to this day, however, its just a pipe dream, I wont say it wont happen I'm just saying it might not.
But a t6 vesta and a t6 sovy are the last 2 ships I could even give a care for in the cstore
don't care about a t6 nebula, nova, t6 bubble ball ship...
there isn't many ships left from the class of 2409 that haven't been t6 yet. Come to think of it, I don't even see how we can even be in the 2410 year anymore.

I'd have mixed feelings about it too. As I said in an earlier post - I feel that I, personally, would be better served waiting for a T6 Nova class (preferably with a hybrid pilot seat), although I acknowledge that it'll probably be a long wait and I have little doubt that a T6 Vesta is a higher priority than a T6 Nova (although I do wish to go on record for saying that I would dearly LOVE to be proven wrong).
And it'll be interesting to see how they play it with a T6 Vesta - a Vesta, with an Intel BOFF seat (if thats where they chose to go with it), would be, as you rightly said, OP right out of the box.
Well, the Vesta was OP right out of the box at Tier 5, too. Well... For Science Vessels, which no one cares about but a tiny minority. It's supposed weakness was less hull, but it got universal slots and pets. The hull hardly matters. Certainly not the entire time I played the Vesta.
It was kinda the Scimitard of Science Vessels.
But maybe they'll give the Tier 6 Vesta Command slots. But even that wouldn't be bad, stuff like concentrate firepower probably would work nice on torpedo builds. (Might want a pet that doesn't consume the Concentrate buffs, though).
Of course, now we have the Annorax, a 4/3 ship with DHC capability and all. That said, it's hampered by its turn rate.
Or.... Crazy thought. They give us a new specialization? This time focused on Science Vessels? I doubt it, but it would be kinda cool, wouldn't it? (And hint at a KDF/RR Triple-Pack.)

I'm farily sure you'll get a T6 Nova at some point. Given that the Rhode Island variant is Harry Kim's ship, it's bound to get some love sooner rather than later. It might get a one-off update without anything being released with it, like the T6 Excelsior was released as a single ship with no bundle.

LOL, true enough. Though that might be due to the Vesta being a solid science vessel in its own right, whereas others needed the later boosts to science (like Embassy consoles and across-the-board application of secondary deflectors) to become something more worthwhile.
Or.... Crazy thought. They give us a new specialization? This time focused on Science Vessels? I doubt it, but it would be kinda cool, wouldn't it? (And hint at a KDF/RR Triple-Pack.)
Oh it's coming, there's no doubt of that. They wouldn't have released the Specialization system just to drop the three on us and forget about it. And even if the next option isn't built with science first, it'll likely have science boosts baked in alongside engie- or tac-heavy stuff. Which would suit either big science ships like the Vesta or Nebula, or the little guys like the Nova or Intrepid, respectively.

That there will be a new spec at some point seems likey. But would it be focused around science vessels? And would the Vesta be a candidate for it? It's a Tier 5 ship, so far every Spec ship is a completely new ship class not seen before.
And so far there are actually no science vessels with command access. The Vesta might be a good choice for that. It's one of the bigger science vessels.

I have not once regretted that decision. my main sci flies a T5u Vesta and has since getting to level 50.
I have the Scryer, and the Pathfinder, but I always end up flying my Vesta. There are only two ways I will give it up:
1. A T6 variant comes out.
2. I manage to get my hands on the Krenim dreadnaught
