On my FED main I had 45 ship cards after I claimed all appropriate C-store ships. I still intend to open a couple mirror ships I have stored on that char, some of the event ships and then some of the special reward ships like the Obelisk. I expect to end up somewhere around 55 cards.
When I'm done with all the reclaiming/dissmissing, all my chars should have over 40 ship cards (FED-ROMs will be worst off).
But given how much I play, I'd be fine with 15 or maybe even 10 ships on each char.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.
I think my peak is somewhere around or under 20. Could probably fatten it up a bit by opening up some Obelisks and other stored ships and rerunning Temporal Ambassador for Ambassadors/Kamarags.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
Scraping bottom at 18 ships. It kinda stinks that old dismissed ships are gone. I cleaned out my ship roster quite a while ago. Claiming and dismissing ships was a real pain. I still don't know if I got them all, the z-store keeps shuffling the deck.

I forgot about the T3 ambassador/kamarag. Will be paying the azure nebula a couple of visits then tomorrow.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
I've never been big on collecting ships, and I haven't bought any with real money so far. My main character has 13 ships, all T5-T6, and I could easily bump that up to 16 ships. I'll be getting another T6 before long, and I could add in a Connie and a T4 dilithium ship if I scrap a couple shuttles. Any more than that, I'd have to buy ship slots, and I'd rather not do that.
I don't really need a huge number of ships. I think about 15 for each character will work just fine for me.
Wow! The most I have is 12 ships on a couple of toons. My poor sad Klingons only have 7. I have no lock box or event ships. Most of the ships are leveling-up newbie ships. I have a few Zen store ships, but not many.
But even with my tiny little fleet I do manage to get some Admiralty rewards. Over time I suspect I will collect more shiny ships.

You don't need more ship slots. You can simply dissmiss the reclaimable (C-store and at least some of the event ships) after you claim them. You will keep their respective ship cards in the admiralty system.

I selected 20-40 but I didn't realize some of my ships on a few characters didn't register when I claimed them (The Rhode Island in particular on two characters) but I was able so surpass 40 by a couple ships...especially with the NX now on my roster...

This new system is gonna be rough.
I also know I have several more if I was to claim some other event and Mirror ships.

I feel you - but not that rough. It will take more time, you won't fill your slots, but you'll get your stuff, even if more slowly.
