Has there been any word about fixing this or has Cryptic given up completely?

Well seeing as the list of affected maps has expanded with S10 to include old missions and social zones...I'd say the problem has gotten worse. However from what I was told by support the devs are looking into it. Of course no time frame was given, but there does seem to be awareness if not communication.

I am having the same exact problem. I normally run 60+ FPS on most every map. The exception is ESD, Romulus Command and many of the Delta Quadrant patrol maps and mission maps. I usually hover around 8 FPS in these maps. Complete garbage and sad that they broke all this with the launch of season 10 and refuse to say anything or acknowledge there is a problem :(

Seems to be an AMD compatibility issue with their coding perhaps? I currently play on a system with an 8 core AMD processor, Radeon R9 290X 3gb GC, and 8 gigs of ram..even at lowest settings, the framerate is horrible.

I'm getting affected by this as well, and yes it seems to be primarily maps with the newer purple space skybox or the skybox with tons of stars and/or colors, like in the new random mission I stumbled on to aid Ocampa settlers or whatever it was. I couldn't do the mission at all because the FPS drop was so bad. The only 2 solutions I've found around the FPS loss are turning off MSAA entirely, or dropping the renderscale down. These solutions, though, are unaxceptable for long-term; this needs to be fixed. If this is an issue with compatibility with AMD chipsets, they need to get it cleared up.

Been absolutely fine until today, when starting new character. Landed on Gorn mission worlds, with lots of vegetation - immediate fps drop to unplayable levels. Even dropping everything to min settings was still very bad - and my system is hardly low end (i7 4970k/GTX970)

I'll throw this one up here because the ticketed support service referred me to more direct approaches (cryptic, your QA team really needs to get it in gear with this bug.) The New Link is also affected by the extreme FPS drops. No setting helps, its just like Risa (which we reported as unplayable prior to the summer event and I can confirm today that such is still the case for those affected by this glitch.)

What the hell do we need to do to prod you guys into looking into this? Support tickets, in game bug reports, and forum posts in multiple sections. Do we need to start mailing bug reports directly to the office? Carrier pigeon? Telegraph? It shouldn't be this difficult to get a reliable "hey, we'll look into it!" (especially after >6 months) from any dev.

And as a note, only change on previously reported hardware/software settings is a win 10 upgrade and graphics card driver update. As stated, its still a significant problem for STO (and STO alone) with no apparent change in the severity of FPS drops.
