This is not worth 30$

When you sell a virtual ship for a price of 30$... I expect some level of professionalism. Someone in Cryptic's team made this texture and placed it on the model of the ship... without even checking it out from all angles.

The texture is distorted and cropped. Please fix it, cause this is NOT worth 30$!

You want to hop over to the Galaxy-X users... Ask them about the spinal lance..
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

totally random question but just how did you spot that while playing the game.

I tend to notice these things, reasons are not important. And I don't know how someone wouldn't notice this... it just sticks out the moment you look at the ship from the side...

Thanks for the suggestion, I will report it in the proper section. I just like to see the "general opinion" before I act.

EDIT: One more thing... I reported other bugs in the past 2 years the regular way, not a single bug was fixed...

i reported the bug that prevented the yamato from using the andromedas console less than an hour after the ship was launched in the general disscussions. A dev replied within a few hours and the bug was fixed very next update. Guess new releases have priority

not really. I mean now that I know it's there I'ld be able to see it. but if I was playing and didn't know I wouldn't it more so on a fast ship like a pilot ships.

to be honest I was really thinking about making a joke about captains being married to their ships and you staring at her ample nacelles.

and not saying your doing this, but looking for a "general opinion" before trying to get this fixed could be seen as trying to start something just for the sake of starting something.

Been playing for well over 3 years now, never once have I ever looked as closely at one of my ships as you would have to to see this. You had to go out of your way to find something to complain about, which was the entire point and why you waited until saturday to post this, so you could rant and insult the devs without being smacked with a modhammer.

I believe you would like to think that I am a "ranter" or whatever but I assure you this is not the case. I noticed this issue not an hour ago and it isn't a big deal to some people but to me it is. And I think I have every right to point it out. Sorry if I offended you or anyone else with my "rant".

I'm not affiliated with the OP, but this is nonsense. The OP has a legit point, Cryptic asks a digital full game's price for these starships. Having faulty textures on them is a legit complaint.

I play this game only because I love Star Trek. I like to RP and falling in love with my ship is a must for me. You may joke, or think I'm crazy but if I can't fall in love with a ship I'm flying... no point in playing. That is how I see it.

I don't see what the big fuss is all about. Half the people looking at it won't even know what was wrong. Hey, it flies, it shoots, it looks nice, it does its job. Here you go, there's my $30 virtual dollars I did not pay real money for.

I have to agree with the OP. With $30 you can go on Steam or GOG and get several good games for that. Or an entire Humble Bundle and have money to spare.

One ship. That's all they needed to model. For $30 it shouldn't be having texture issues.

Is that a pilot escort? I own the three pack and never noticed it. I've been buying ships just for the mastery traits... kind of sad.

Except, he may have paid real $30 for it, not "$30 virtual dollars". With that, I think he has a legitimate complaint. It's a cost of real world $30 to buy one of these ships for a LOT of players, so they should be able to ask the company to provide quality for their dollar instead of "hey, we gotta get it out the door, so that quality is good enough" quality. For me, the issue isn't that serious as I don't really pay that much attention to that sort of thing, but some players do, and he has as legitimate a right to point it out to the people who take his money as anyone does to discount it as not important. If it was something he received for free, I'd still say he has reason to complain, but probably not much of a rationale to expect justice.

Yes, it is the Sci pilot escort - Icarus. It seems this hull is the only one having problems with the TYPE7 material. Could be that the texture is distorted on other types of material as well but it isn't noticeable because other textures do not have escape pods on that part of the hull.

It's not really important if I bought this ship or not... some ships I buy with $, some I get by converting dil to zen. And I don't exactly consider "getting something for free" if you invest hundreds of hours into getting it. Time is and always has been...

It goes without saying the OP has a valid point, and as a consumer has not only the right but also the responsibility to vote with their wallet and time.

The very reason consumers get ripped off repeatedly is because the majority is indifferent about buying and re-buying broken products from houses to cars to other big and small investments that add up, especially when there is a monopoly on a product or service where you have zero choice even.

I paid/grinded $60 minus c store sale for the Romulan Pilot ships hoping to like their looks or find a way to modify their skin somehow. It is the only set of ships I'm unhappy with for their looks alone, and in the future you can be that I won't touch another ship that in the pictures looks like it was a rush job.

The things the OP report are serious for me. From time to time I stop flying and zoom into to the ship to look close at every detail. If I see the kind of mistakes we see here it is a reason to recustomize the ship or even ditch it. I always try to make a variant that has the least 'mistakes', because, sadly, there are a lot of these kind of wrong designs.

The whole section in the picture of the OP is wrong. Look how ugly those two lines end up into the main ribbon. Also those hatches are for escape pods. I do think all pods are similar and of the same size, yet the hatches are different. Ughh! I would never buy this ship.

While you may have exchanged dil for it, the ship's asking price is 30 real currencies and while you didn't have to pay those someone else did. So, essentially, because you don't care what you spend your time/money for or "half the people" pay money for quality lacking products this complaint is invalid? Some people still ask for quality when they pay. True, not many any more, but some still do.

The complete placement of these escape pods makes no sense. That last pod is blocked by part of the ship, begging for disaster if it ever get launched. Also the interior of these must be inside the propulsion; whats supposed to escape in there? Warp Plasma?

I've pretty much given up on anything getting fixed by cryptic once it's broken. I can name dozens of ships with problems that have gone ignored. Which is all the more annoying given the prices they ask for them.

You are right. When you look at the designs, you often think, when this here, that can't be there too. It is like children have drawed a rocket. Oh, how nice, you are a real artist. Here's a dollar, buy yourself an icecream.

Some people have a heightened sense of detail which can cause this to stick out like a sore thumb. Others the opposite and wouldn't notice or care, but that doesn't make this, OK.

I just bought Rebel Galaxy for approx. $20. Entirely different game with hours of entertainment vs. a single ship inside a game. Tis the free to play model unfortunately, although some feel this is still probably a good deal.

sadly, the problem reported by the OP is not the only one:

    - the avenger has a similar problem
    - intel costume (2 problems)
    - a lot of ships have average textures; the normal mapping is not very good.
    - textures Tiling not correctly done or textures stretched like in the screenshot
    - faeht, you can't change the windows, because they are linked to a material
