I like the Forums new look! The space themed background is nice and everything seems to stand out much better now.
It’s horrible and doesn’t work on mobile or high resolutions desktop screens. How did this ever get past basic design tests? The forum only works within a small limited resolution range. Try and use any modem resolution and you end up with up to 75% of the page being empty.
There's a 2 inch border on mine, and that's fine. You'd rather have each post be one extremely long line of text? That reduces readability IMO. But to each their own I guess.
This thread proves that once again, you can't please everyone.
Eh? 1080p here and looks fine to me. Or is 1080p not "modern" any more?
1080p is last generation even mobiles often run higher than that now. I have been running at 2560x1440 for years and Ultra HD is modern and much high resolution then what I run at. Why would anyone design a forum that doesn’t work on new modern displays or work on mobile displays?
A lot of people do run at 1080p but its slowly being phased out for higher resolutions. 10's of millions run at higher then 1080p now and that number is only incraseing.

A little hyperbole there. According to Steam statistics 1080p is still the most common resolution at 35%, while 1440p accounts for just above 1% of gamers. There are more people still running 1280x720 than 2560x1440.

Does not seem to be any difference on mobile. Now two days ago my Chrome Browser on Android all of sudden switched the Forums to the Desktop Site non-scrollable. I have been using Dolphin since. I have had this type corruption a few times in the past but it eventually corrected itself.

I like the background seperates from the foreground adding contrast. But I miss the section links at the bottom of threads and not too keen on how large the thread links are, because there is less links per page.
Also be nice if we had ignore features and a way to delete drafts.
As I said in another thread: It's pretty, just not space-efficient, IMO. I think that if the old layout were brought back, but with the new color scheme/backgrounds, etc., it would be perfect.
(EDIT: Man...my sig on this color scheme...looks gooooood.)

I like the forum look in its current state! Everything seems to work, the colors are decent, and I have no issues with the mobile version or loading up the desktop version on mobile. Thank you to the forum team for your work in making this place look nice!
Hopefully at some point in the future, we will get our special forum titles returned.
Please resize, cant see the far right side, it seem got cut off about 20%, not able to see edit icon, it is way too long, and didnt have bottom scroll bar to read other half of right side.
edit, nevermind, i just change my monitor size panel. now able to see full page with. but now the words are getting too small to read.
My main focus would be to ensure that the space between post contents is reduced. The avatar + username area should be on the left side, not on the top of each post. That way you can use the width of a screen better and provide a better readable thread.
This would in fact be better even if they did not increase the useage of width. it's just easier to read if the actual post contents are close together. It's basically the main reason why multiple quote blocks in a post can be annoying. Or ads in the middle of a website.

No one ever said 1080p isn't common and its not hyperbole 10's of millions have moved over to high resolution. Its a fact high resolution is getting more common and ultra HD usage is ramping up. So why design a forum that's not going work on the next step of resolutions?
No way do I believe there are more people on 1280x720 than at high resolution. What about all the people trying to browse the forum on high resolution tablets at around 2,048 x 1,536? tablets are one of the most common ways to browse forums but Steam doesn't factor that in.
...its not hyperbole 10's of millions have moved over to high resolution.
Where are you getting that number? Less than a million (~878K) use Steam. Unless you're trying to say over 9x the amount of hi-res gamers don't use Steam. That I don't believe.

I reference the Steam numbers since it's a reliable source of statistics on a huge pool (75 Million+) of gamers. Sure it doesn't capture every gamer and certainly not every web user. But if you're playing this game you're not just a web surfer. I would also counter your tablet example with the millions of grandmothers who happily play Solitaire on older monitors.
I don't disagree that a website should render properly for standard resolutions, I am just questioning your claims that "10's of millions" run at 1440p.

I'd also say whatever your tablet issue is, maybe its your browser. Just fired up this forum on my 2560x1600 tab, and it looks fine in Firefox* as it does on my 1080p desktop. No empty space; borders are even less pronounced.
* Edit: I just tried Chrome as well, looks the same as Firefox. No drastic problem like you have.
How is it that your background shows the KDF? Is there a way to switch between all 3 factions?

Less reading space, plus text on a semi-transparent background = hard to read.
This is likely because of the Pixel-based responsiveness, rather than adaptive sizes...
Basically, they've ignored almost all basic rules of creating a responsive webpage...
This thread proves that once again, you can't please everyone.
That wasn't there before. As my avatar is a transparent png, the border detracts from the effect.

Someone talked of a space themed background?
My forum is white.
I dont know what some of you are talking about. Is it because i use this on my mobile.
Looks good with enhancements.
