Should STO be played like this?

Would you prefer STO to be a 3-D game like this videos tech shows, or should it remain on a flat screen? If you have your own idea/s share them. When someone from the company reads this it will give em feedback, and maybe even ideas they didnt think of.

    I prefer the way things are now.
    Yea... I've used similar systems before... They work... well.. like C*ap, and if people think rubberbanding and lag is bad now...
    Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

    For something like this to work in a game like sto I think you would have to completely redo the game from the ground up just to handle the new graphics and interface that would have to go with it. Maybe 3-5 years from now this type of graphics will be the norm then again...

    Sometimes these types of advancements get tossed to the side when another achievement comes to light. You get all excited for a 3d graphics type game (and I remember seeing a 3d Minecraft simulation on youtube that needed a special table) and then something else comes out that is even better.

    To be honest I think the biggest breakthrough in gaming will be when you can actually be in the game via Matrix style or Holodeck but I don't know if that will ever come anytime soon, dammit! lol

    VR glasses, like the Occulus are more likely and more viable that what is shown in this video.

    And most types of VR and 3D do not work properly for people who wear corrective glasses.

    Wearing glasses myself, I am well aware of this issue... Still dosen't change that VR glasses have more potential than projected movement.

    Augmented 3D would be useful for like an LCARs setup. But given people are actually in the process of making primative holodecks, instead of playing the MMO, you are in the MMO.

    While it would be cool, I have no idea how the game would work if you played with a system like that. Like shrimp head said, the entire game would need to be recreated in a way that would make sense to control with this system.

    Yeah it's one of those really cool looking things that doesn't have any practicality to it. The only game I can think of that could work well with this would be Pong.
