And this is one sure way to KILL STO. They can't stop producing stuff that makes money or they go under. What is needed is more of a focus on the bugs and balance...but it'll be a hard sell...noit just for the companyt, but for the players as well since we don't like what is actually needed.
Bugs that exist since the start of STO, and never get any developer attention, that is also a sure way to kill any game.
No I want to see more ships from members of those major races !!
I agree that 'bug fixes don't sell anything' and also that 'ignoring long-standing bugs and NWAI features for years is a good way to lose your most loyal players'.
I would ask that they simply make a commitment to identify the most irksome problems, and further make a commitment to eliminating at least a few of those with each major patch. That still allows them to move forward with income-oriented production, while gradually knocking off some bugs along the way.
No I want to see more ships from members of those major races !!
I'd vote for "bug fixes" but let's be realistic: not gonna happen in an MMO. Never happened and never will. Soo...i want more andorian and caitian ships! Nao! Also rommies could use non-rom designed ships (and playable races).
Stop making ships and concentrate on other stuff like bugs and content !!!
My thought would be to do a six month pause to focus on bug fixes, tailor fixes, art fixes/upgrades all at once. This keeps all departments busy (and in the case of the art department maybe frees them up to address major "wants" of theirs that they have not been allocated the hours for before), as opposed to some criticisms I've seen of the repair pass idea.
Additionally, to mitigate and counter revenue losses during the repair pass I think the wise thing to do would be to schedule it during a period that will see both the Winter and Anniversary Events. Maybe line up MU Invasion and Crystalline Catastrophe to occur during this period too. That reduces the perception of a "content drought." My final recommendation would be good (maybe even some of the best) sales and promos in the C-store during that period. Both strategies--timing of the repairs and good deals in the C-store--also stand to get players back for a time whose interest waned due to the prior problems. If there are tangible improvements to show, that may well help with customer win-back and retention.

Cryptic, listen very closely. STOP making new content. Fix the content that is already in the game. STO has numerous bugs that still exist from the first year or two, bugs that you have yet to even touch. And until those are fixed, new stuff should not even be on your chalkboard.
Fun fact: They tried to do this with Season 8 and 9. You guys didn't want them to.

Ingame gameplay and canon has all kinds of reasons for more Non-Klingon playable ships in the KDF. We have playable Orion, Gorn, Nausicaan races but the selection of their ships is very limited. There's all sorts of NPC ships of those races also.
Stop making ships and concentrate on other stuff like bugs and content !!!
One team can still design ships (active revenue), and use a substantial portion of the revenue to fix issues in order to keep interest high AND gain new business (passive revenue). Then, the positive feedback loop propel you into profitable paradise.
I would ask that they simply make a commitment to identify the most irksome problems, and further make a commitment to eliminating at least a few of those with each major patch. That still allows them to move forward with income-oriented production, while gradually knocking off some bugs along the way.
I thought that was what Trendy's new bug bashing squad was all about?
Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end of it.

Even tho I voted for more T6 ships the thing is, content and QA are two different departments. Content department can't fix bugs becuase they don't work on that, that's not their area, while QA department is the one responsible for fixing bugs.
It's really illogical to make the content team stop working so the QA team can solve stuff. And even if that were the case, not all issues would be resolved.

Another poll, yet again, on trying to get Cryptic to fix all these 'bugs'. In the near 6 years that I've been playing I've yet to see more than a handful of bugs that I've noticed, and really, it's been only the very few that have been 'game-breaking', which they fixed. Granted, they totally need to sort out DPS from the ground up so it is consistant. They also need to fix the R&D UI so it goes to the correct field first time of asking and lastly to make ship loadouts load correctly. Other than that, there is nothing really that bad at all. It's a good fun game, that once I again I remind players, is totally cash free to play, and has a shed load of content and variability. To say that 'time' is a cost is a fallacy, because all games, free or not, cost time to play, and it's by your own choice!
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
Another ridiculous poll.. How about they keep doing what they're doing which is pretty much all of the above. Yeah I'd like some "new" faction specific ships but that will come once they've got the T5 ships out as T6.
As for the whole. "let's stop and do bug fixing". I can't say it better than an official response from Tendy in a thread she closed a couple days back.
Ok. I'm sick of these now.
The people that generate content are not the ones who work on bug fixes. If there is a glitch or a bug, we need to identify it and that goes through a different system entirely than content generation. This is the equivalent of telling an artist to "fix the line code".
If anything, I'm working to help improve the speed of the bug fixes with my program to augment the process. However suggesting that we should put all other development on hold is not going to happen. That literally is illogical.
I'd vote for "bug fixes" but let's be realistic: not gonna happen in an MMO. Never happened and never will. Soo...i want more andorian and caitian ships! Nao! Also rommies could use non-rom designed ships (and playable races).
I proxy my vote to wintermutevres, with extra emphasis on Andorian.

I knew using Kinetics would be playing the game on hard mode, but what I didn't realize was how bad the deck is stacked against Kinetics.

It's an mmo its always gonna have issues.
For Roms I'd like some unique Reman designs and possibly a suliban cruiser?
Kdf should get more Orion/Gorn/Nausican ships.
