no more rep systems pls // stop the weekly rewards on FEs

what the title says

its way too much passive abilites

think of new ppl comming into the game
WOW! what to get?
also we have only 4 slots(+1 to buy) instead of lets say 1 slot for every rep system

what do you think is it ok? more rep systems?
every seas one more?

so lets tal kweekly rewards on FEs
the missions arent really that grat that u want to paly em that often
why the hell do we need 4 new space sets in 4 new missions?

we get an overflow with free space sets

why dont give away ONE space set in 4 pieces over 4 FEs

too much stuff I say

what do you think?
cool more sets?

I have hated the Reputation system since it started. And I refuse to even touch Reputation. So whenever a new one comes along, I WILL wait until the Winter Wonderland, or Risa Summer, so I can let the epohhs and parrots do all the Reputation work for me.
I completed a 2-man CSE, ISE, and KASE, Optionals included. And I soloed Winter Invasion.

The rep system is by far the best endgame reward system in any of the cryptic games. No gamble. No RNG. you work for it, you get it.

If we get more endgame rewards, MORE rep please.

The rep system is an established part of the game which works. And works far better for all players than the random drop of Elite Marks which occurred during the STFs which it replaced. I cannot see Cryptic giving up a part of STO which functions with minimal hassles on both sides. Or at least doing so easily.

I do think the Reputation System is a tad bit over used, however. It has become a franchise player nearly every Season since it was introduced and is now stale and boring because of this. I've no idea what to replace it with, though. And Cryptic will have to insert something in that blank space if they do not use the Rep system. Because they have conditioned the players to expect something special, in terms of new gear and gadgetry, every time a new Season arrives

Speaking as one of those new players, I've only been around for barely 6 months, that you want the game to think of, please don't touch the rep system. Yes it's a bit confusing, but much less so than say the basic skills (now there's a good place for a clean up and tightening) and specialisation points. Actually the basic skill and traits are by far the most confusing thing about this game, by the time I made level 50 and could get to the rep I had figured out how everything worked and the rep traits are far more logical and much easier to chose than basic traits.

So if you want the game to stop confusing new players, don't ask more less rep traits and fewer reps overall. Ask for a clean up of the basic skills and traits. Or at least a good guide in which to chose. And the wiki sucks on this point for new players, as it does on most subjects when you're new to the game, serving only to exacerbate our confusion.

So I for one am very much looking forward to the new rep and the same goes for the weekly rewards, both set items and spec/upgrade box.
Logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end of it.

The rep system isn't bad for one or two characters, but even with the Sponsor token Rep'ing with alts can be a terrifying prospect. I think the sponsor token should be upgradable: IE: I create it on toon for 100 marks, I set it to another toon who can slot it into a project and 20 hours later, for another 100 marks, a DOUBLE sponsor token comes up. Just making the system a bit less grindy would be fine with me.

As far as the FE rewards go. In the past they spread the Set out over 3 or 4 episodes, however this time each episode seemed to get its own SET of goodies. While playing the same episode over and over can get old, if the goodies are worth it? Im not going to complain. To much of the REAAAALLY good gear in this game is put in Lockboxes or Reps systems, and THAT is worse than playing the same mission 3 times.

Way I see it, I have so many ALTS to run through these missions, by the time I get to the 2nd or 3rd ALT I will know the mission so well I can run it in very little time. That's the way running alts is, so I don't have a HUGE issue with it. The rewards are NOT time sensitive persey. They don't disappear after a certain time. Run the missions 2nd and 3rd time a month apart or whatever. The spec upgrades are nice, although I have to admit I have 6 in my account bank ready for a toon I have yet to pick to use them on.. ow well,, they aren't going anywhere.

Sorry, but RNG is actually what makes Endgame fun and worth playing.
Its what makes playing the content repeatedly a thrill and not a chore, the excitement, anticipation, "this time could be it".
I felt such a rush of euphoria back in the day before Rep systems when I got the final piece for the Elite Honor Guard armor. After months of trying, the feeling of envy for those with better luck, it all washed away for that moment and I felt a sense of accomplishment, I felt rewarded for my effort.

The reputation system is a joke, any monkey can farm the easiest queue missions like ISA repeatedly and get everything with minimal effort. In fact, you don't even get rewards anymore, you actually have to BUY every single piece of equipment. Whereas before you actually got the complete items as the reward with no strings attached.

There is literally no difference between buying Reputation items and buying what you want on the exchange. Its all just a grind for and exchange of currency.

With the sponsorship tokens and the daily marks bonus it is hardly difficult to finish them all in less than 1 month on a new character.

If you are a completely new player it will obviously take longer. However, still barely more than say 2 months, including leveling to 50. There are the space and ground battle zones you can use plus the normal queues to gain marks. The delta and iconian will be difficult until you get to Kobali zone. And I can see iconian becoming a pain after season 11 starts and no one runs the iconian missions anymore. The lack of an iconian battlezone will hamper that reputation badly. However, all the others are fine.

Yeah, that's a fair point. The joke of a nerf that removed all of our passive abilities way back when became a hilarious farce when 1000x more power was added to the game soon after. I suppose since these minor passive abilites weren't monetized they got the axe in favor of the new heavily monetized ones.

I like getting FE rewards. I'm not that impressed with the Sol Defense set though. Everyone seems to like it, but I think it just looks meh. So I'm looking forward to more new episodes and more new stuff.

As for the reps, I have all except Delta and Iconian to 5. I have Delta and Iconian to 4 and working on 5. It's not that hard. New reps would be nice. Like one guy said above - the rep system doesn't have any RNG. Put forth the effort and you get your stuff. This is nice and the way everything should work.

Some FE rewards are good. I outfitted my crew with them on ground or space gear. If they are worth getting. Some just end up as vendor trash. But I'm glad they offer a wide range of stuff so everyone gets something. The weekly part of the FE is mostly them getting you to come back and do it again. And to hold you off until the next FE comes out a good 3-4 weeks later. For me I just wait until its done then do it. So I can see all the rewards and decide if its worth doing it again for the other rewards.

Reps are good. To me they are one of the best set ups. I can do a couple of runs on the weekend. And log on during the week to turn it in. This way I can do them rather fast. Unlike WoW you had to do it each day or you gained no Rep points. They offer a good way to get nice gear, EC, Exp, and Dil. I don't mind doing them. So far I completed the Romulan, Dyson, Delta, and Iconian ones. I don't go after all the gear. Just the ones to catch my attention and I plan on using. Some Reps I didn't care to do as they didn't interest me.

You might not like doing them, but they are all optional.

Personally I agree with the OP. Remove the REP systems, and all the gear associated with them . No one needs that much stuff, gear or perks. Choices make things so much harder on players . Phasers/Disruptors/Plasma are all anyone need, and you sure as heck don't need any "elite" gear outside of what you can grind and contribute for in the fleet stores. No one needs options. Remove them forthwith. /Sarcasm Disengaged/ o:)

The nice thing about rep gear and FE is it gives you more choice: buffs to tanking vs. damage, boosts to science vs. weapons, boosts to different energy types.

For example, the Butterfly set was a perfect addition to the Nukara sets to let my science captain set up a Tetryon build. The Solanae set helps AP, etc.

New sets give us the chance to try new builds.

The 'Vendor Trash' of which you speak is filler rewards like the 'Current Lockbox' item available. The main rewards are in no way 'Vendor Trash' unless you are looking to be a DPS Master. The fact that you can pick up items that make sets at Level 10+ during the Featured Episode time that will allow you to upgrade at appropriate times to Mk XII for NO upgrade costs whatsoever is great. Sets that can level with your character.

And as far as Reputations go - very quick and easy. one of my Delta Recruits leveled up 6 reps under the sponsership at once while being the designee for unlocking the Iconian Rep. You can get through ALL seven without running advanced anything; most of it from the Azure Sector. Romulan/Nakura from a Tholian Red alert once a day, Dyson and 8274 from sitting right by the Solanae Gate - Undine Space Zone, Dyson Allied Command Daily. Borg through a Red Alert that pops around there as well. Delta and Iconian, go to Kobali Prime from the Solanae Gate spot you are sitting at. Run the Kobali Ground Zone, after you are 57 and get the Dailies for both with up to two 'Elite Marks' for each by running the final two Missions there - 'Breaking the Wall' and 'With Our Last Breath' twice.

You could substitute Borg Disconnected Normal if you just want the Daily Bonus and such and don't want or need the 'Elite Marks' at this time - good for Omega, Dyson, 8274, and Delta.

You want the 'Elite Marks' easy:

Defera Ground Hard Missions (not really but you need three to get it going) for Omega - up to 4. Max 4 per day this route.

8274 gives you 4 for completing a run through of the Undine Space Battle Zone to the end of the Planet Killers and the Voth Incursion per above; there is your Counter-Command. Can be done multiple times a day.

Dyson - run the Ground Zone until the big Tyranos are all killed - 5 'Elite' awarded. Can be done multiple times a day.

Delta and Iconian - see above for Kobali for last missions in the Ground Zone. Up to 2 each per day.

Less than an hour a day and you have enough for over two Daily Rep Projects each. Remember 36 or 41 'Elite Marks' will get you a full Space Set, Ground Set, and Weapons Set. 0 for Romula/Nakura, 36 for Omega, and 41 for the rest.

RNG is what makes endgame frustrating and players give up.

You are of course entirely entitled to your own opinions.
But the fact remains that there are a considerable amount of people that actually enjoy the experience, hence why it prevails in the most popular MMORPG's.

I have no problem with the Reputation systems existing, they have their place. But I dislike the fact that Cryptic dumbed down existing game content to introduce it and pretty much gave the middle finger to the entire target demographic they revamped the STF's for in the first place.

RNG is good because it keeps people playing the content, and gives them solid goals to shoot for. The Original STF revamp had the right idea, with each set piece being an exclusive reward from a specific STF.
Most people simply aren't going to spend the time and effort of fully upgrading their equipment to be the best it can be to tackle super challenging missions that does not have a satisfying reward at the end.
In an MMORPG it's an exercise of futility if you ultimately have "nothing" to show for your efforts and no way of letting other players know of your achievements.
