T6 doesn't have "way better stats" over the T5-U it's based upon. Actually it has the very same stats with a couple exceptions: 1) One more Boff ability (13th for most ships); 2) Some specialization seat among Boff slots; 3) Fifth mastery Tier unlocking a ship trait.
And this is way better, actually. A single BOFF power is already nice to have, but the specializations change everything - in a "traditional" Tier 5 ship without specializations, you quickly run into the problem of shared and global cooldowns. You do not have that with specialization powers. And with all the new traits and DOFFs that lower cooldown timers, you don't need to double up on any powers anymore.
The Tier 5 Defiant has approximaltely 3-4 tactical BO powers too many in the Tier 6 world. Giving it a Pilot or Intel seat will be a vast improvement. The step is no less, but probably even more, than the step from Tier 4 to Tier 5.

I have to be honest. I'm not at all surprised to see yet another FED ship. What happened to the KDF and Romulan ships. The Hestia ship is just another pass for me. What a waste creating yet one ship for one faction, but not one for the other two as well.
For canon, why not let the Romulans, including KDF Romulans use it, because they DID steal the original Prometheus...
I also somewhat hoped for some kind of cross-faction pack tbh. I really like those. For example the battlecruiser pack is excellent for anyone that returns to the game and wants good new ship for toons in all factions

If somebody would actually take the time to fix the nacelle glitch, I might actually drop money on this. What is really sad (and funny at the same time) is they actually posted photos of this ship with the nacelle sticking out. Somebody fire up the Sanford and Son theme.
The V shaped blue component between the nose and the hull numbers is a warp nacelle? Freaky.
oh the bit on the front, I don't actually know I thought you meant the mini nacelle on the top back of the saucer.....um honestly I don't know what that is! The bridge viewport maybe?
It's probably a deflector of sorts. The ship splits into three components, and each component needs to be independently capable of everything the ship would do as a whole. Just as each component has its own warp engines/nacelles, each should also have its own deflector.
* Throws arms up and gives up *
Any chance that starship trait has some kind of alternate function in PvP? I can already see problems with that one, specially if a whole team is using it.
I would love to see some trait at some point like:
Vampire tactics - Drain boost
Black hole physics - Grav gens boost
Confucius expert - Cuntermesure systems boost
Sorry... it's been a very long day, and I have to quote this... it wasn't edited by myself in any way, shape, or form.

That was my original (only half-joking) point. It sure looks like the deflector for that section, right? So why not throw us a bone and let the ship slot a secondary deflector? Since it's an escort, I don't see that happening, but it would be logical.

Well that's your opinion on what constitutes "way better" stats. Obviously they are better in that specializations add other choices. But the specialization seat can land on one of the Boff slots you more or less need for 'traditional' (tac, sci, eng) abilities. Plus I don't find all that many specialization abilities useful at all. And that is my opinion on that subject.
Whatever, I was trying to show that T6 ships only get improved so much and - contrary to some popular belief - don't get all Boff stations upgraded to Commander/5 additional console slots/additional weapon slots/... over their Tier 5 versions. Some people have unrealistic hopes and wishes regarding T6 ships, I'm trying to eradicate those misconceptions.

But why should I get it? Pilot escort bundle already provides much more versatility than this and knowing your "revamp" tactics the ship will just get one seating upgraded to hybrid seating still with 4/3 weapons layout vs pilot's 5/2. This makes pilot escorts much more powerful, not to mention their overpowered maneuvers.

just try using OSS then dropping a grav well some time.
I may be in the minority but the multi vector thing never did anything for me. If they took it out I know I would be completely fine with that but I am sure there are those who love it.

Yeah, OSS is one of the few very nice spec abilities. But the just released stats prove me right. For one it got Command (not saying it's useless, but definitely not the best of specs most of the time), for two it's the engineer slot that got it and not one of the tac Boff slots that needed it.

I'm concerned seeing the new skin and its got the mini nacelle popping out the top of the saucer. Does this mean Cryptic are making absolutely NO EFFORT to fix the mini nacelle skin glitch on the other models despite them jutting out the bottom of the saucer, clearly broken and not fitting the cannon look of the Prometheus seen in the shows?
This should have been the time to fix it rather than peddle us a broken product. The mini nacelle glitch has been here over a year and looks terrible when you go to warp. It literally drops down out the bottom of my saucer during the animation.
I figured I would drag with one out from the front page on account of so many will be grabbing this ship up this coming weekend and obviously.. it can be a bit dorky if you got the 5th nacelle poking way high up LOL
don't worry bro, I got your fix
you go to the ship customization screen, and you will notice a tab, that refers to the "5th" nacelle
and what it does is drop it, or raise it
so you can manually put that "5th" nacelle in whatever position you want, up or flush with the hull
so again, the screen that allows you to customize the ship, pick sauser, hull, etc
there is a option for the "5th" nacelle position
p.s.
don't feel bad, I am sure many folks figured it out in 2 seconds.. but I was like you too going "whaaaattt?!?" when I loaded her out into space ages ago
just saying, took me a bit to figure out that there was an option to correct it
well
they don't call their flipping company cryptic for no reason right? lol
Sadly, not a fix. I'm aware of it and it only works on a few models. The Cerberus skin for example, cannot be hidden inside the saucer even if you push it down all the way. And it still sticks up when certain abilities are activation as well.
So there is no correcting it for many players. Cryptic are aware of it, there was a huge thread since the patch that cause and its been ignored for nearly a year.
Ship looks nice, but it's let down by the boff layout. Too many better escort options exist. I don't normally play fed. This is not a ship I'd buy if I were a Fed. No sale for me. Would like to see more love to rom and kdf.
But I have already a Prometheus. I'm still disappointed by this marketing strategy of selling the same ship with way better stats over and over on top of the existing one(s), and I'm not going to fall for the trick they've been doing since DR.
It's not just the costume. Basically they took the old ship and instead of directly offering an upgrade for those who bought it, they made a new one, added a costume and sold it as if it was a totally new ship. That's 30 bucks-equivalent dilithium I'd spend somewhere else.
That's what I don't like.
They combined a costume with improved stats and sell this for 30 $, right.
But would you really rather have a completely different ship for 30 $ with stats slightly better than the Advanced Escort, its own costume, but no ability to mix and match costume parts? (Or a ship with the same stats but no ability to mix and match costume parts?)
The Tier 6 Retrofit ships are sometimes seen as a bad deal because "it's the same ship, but just better", but it completely ignores that this means you can still use all the old costume parts with the new costume parts and have a lot more variety then if you were stuck with the old or got a stand-alone ship.
You could say that ship costumes used to be cheaper before F2P times, but you also used to spend 10-15 $ each month to play the game and if you didn't, you lost access to everything. There is no guarantee that the 5 $ or whatever it used to be the original C-Store costumes cost actually was able to cover the full cost of making the ship costumes (and add a nice profit on top.).
And the original Tier 5 Retrofits (Galaxy, Defiant, Intrepid) did have no new alternate skins at all, and still costs the same as today's Tier 5 ships.
hm, let me rephrase that.
Why couldn't they just sell the ship costume for 500 Zen (like they did in the past) and changed the T5U token from the very beginning so that you could upgrade every Fleet T5 ship you had to T6 instead of buying it ex novo?
Don't worry, I know why. Still, I consider that a theft. I know when companies exaggerate, and STO has gone way out of control to me in that regard.
In all honesty, thinking that "there is a whole different costume you can mix and match with the old ones" (which includes the canon ones usually) is exactly what they want you to believe to justify a rebranded ship that, at the very deep, is something you already have.
It's not true that T6 versions aren't a deal breaker compared to the T5U counterparts: they are game changers that wipe them out day and night. That's why they still manage to sell them from my perspective. They've convinced the playerbase that they need them, while also tricking them that's a legit move due to the added costume.
Try to remove that. You get the same ship with improved stats and higher price tag.
I only got the T6 Intrepid as I didn't have it at T5, even though I'm a die hard Voyager fan, and a bunch of other T6 ships. Anyway, I'm never, ever going to get a T6 Defiant, Excelsior, Sovereign, Tempest, Avenger or any other ship that I already have on my account at T5. So far they managed to make obsolete like 80% of my ships, while exponentially increasing the resources and time needed to be even by far competitive once you reach endgame. There I got to the point of no return at which I deleted game files.

With all the exchange between different races you would think that some hybrid ships would have appeared already? Dont you think? I would like to have a ship with Borg enhancements on the outside as an example of what I mean for hybrids.

mind explaining please?

I was hoping now would be the time to fix it. Y'know, when you're asking players to pay money for the ship so selling it non-broken or glitched would have been a decent thing to do. I fully expect this to drop Thursday and be politely ignored.

Because 500 Zen on a purchase (multiplied by the expected purchases within a time limit) is not enough to cover the cost (and profit expectations) of developing a new costume.
At least that's my guess and it seems reasonable. I figure that a new ship takes the artist(s) weeks to design.
And, going by the forum posts in the Hestia Stats section: Players won't buy ships just because they look good, they need uber stats. Power sells. So the sales for a new costume are probably pathetic without the stat boosts tied with it.

I was never a fan of the original Prometheus class so I never purchased it nor used any of its variants in the game. I think Cryptic did an excellent job designing this T6 version. It is easily superior to the original design. However I will not purchase this ship as it is a command ship and I already have several I do not use very often. I also do not care for the boff layout with the hybrid seat being the only engineering seat. So I would not use the command powers anyway. There is also no Universal seats which is rather unfortunate.
There will be some that likes this ship and will purchase it but I will not be one of them.
Not a huge fan of the Nacelles on the ship but otherwise I like it, is there no set bonus with the MVAM console?
Only gripe about it is they didn't really break the mold at all, this day and age we don't really need all of those tac slots...could of at least given us a Ensign Uni.
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power
Once upon a time Cryptic DID sell ship costumes.... Yeah, that didn't really end well.
What you mean it didn't end well? People bought them up so fast that Cryptic decided it was more profitable to add them as part of C-store ship purchases. Unless that's what you meant by "it not ending well".

For canon, why not let the Romulans, including KDF Romulans use it, because they DID steal the original Prometheus...
