Launcher is not loading

Can anyone help me with the launcher because its not starting up like it should do

    Hey @nlmistertnt

    Sorry to hear you're having issues getting in game, but the issue you've reported is extremely vague, and also not a "Gameplay" issue.

    Regardless, can you let me know what you're seeing when you open the launcher?

    How are you opening the laucher, through Arc or Steam?

    Are you getting just a blank screen when you open the launcher?

    Are all the other features for the machine working correctly?

    What OS have you installed?

    @bob0202 Via Arc first the Arc portal opens then the launcher starts. As it seems the update is runnig now it took about half an hour to start it up and to recieve the new pathces. Via the us proxy it wouldnt start so i tried the EU proxy and after half an hour it started to update so im hoping the problem is resolved

    sorry problem not lolved launcher stays black for about 1 hour after finaly loading up so i can login i can see the patcher trying to connect to the patch server but thats it it dosent mather if i use steam arc or launcer directly
    its stil looking at the version it is and what version it needs i tryed tribble and red shirt same problem
    it cant be my connexion or my machine becouse everything else works 100%

    Same problem, multiple pc's. And it's not my connection. Really annoying as another day is wasted. Finally found some free time to play to first find it down for maintenance and then this inability to log in.

    Same problems here. Arc launcher takes forever to start. If it happens to get on the Character Selection screen, after 5mins of loading the char, i hit play and i get a Login_Timeout. Was the same yesterday until 1:30am in the night CET+1. Today was fine until the Maint. Serverdown. Until the server was back online i had the same problems.

    The same thing happened to me this morning around nine a.m. 17-sep-2015

    The launcher failed to open when I clicked on its icon in my taskbar.

    It was at around nine a.m. that I was disconnected from the game, while transitioning from Argala to sector space around Argala.

    I thought it was one of the dos attacks at first but would a dos attack keep the launcher from just opening? I can understand not being able to connect but the launcher lives on our home computers, right?​​

    It still needs to connect to download content (it's basically an HTML page, from my admittedly limited understanding) and check for updates. If the server's down, or not responding, it can't get the images and news, so it won't progress to patching.

    Funny that the admins here only react quickly on "incomplete" or "vague" complaints, telling the complainer what he did wrong. However when you specify the problems you'll never hear from them. Are they here to tell us what we do wrong? Or are they here to take in a complaint and explain and help the others?

    I also have problem with the launcher.
    It's stuck and in the windows it write: "Loading. Please wait." and nothing else.
    Is STO experiencing another DDOS?

    @tomaswille : maybe they're working on it but don't have a solution by now. So there is no reason to blabla something or to ask questions. when you gave them a full description, they work on it. If not, they ask for details. Sounds logic to me.

    "Maybe". That's my point, we should guess. A comfirmation is nice. Let them work on it. Hell maybe they can solve it next year, at least say that you got his complaint, and that you took it in. Do whatever, but don't leave us blank.
    A quick reaction from them is seemingly possible, ( see above ) but he only stated how wrong the topic poster is, and how he can be more of a help. ( sure, i get that. But when he explains, give him a quick reaction in return. )

    A simple yes will do.

    Update: after 30 minutes of black screen when opening the launcher, it now fully opened the LAUNCHER. ( I see images, news etc )

    But still get the message "Logging in, please wait". This is going on for 10 minutes now.

    I agree a little bit, but it depends if there are community managers or IT guys who take care of community, too :-D

    Whatever, it is "nice" to hear that there are other people with the same problem, because I tend to searching the problem on my side first and then change parameters and mixing things in my computer upside down as well :-D

    ARC Client and STO launcher are affected too. STO client is not able to connect to account server.

    Other MMO's (RIFT, Rose Online, and others) and online games are working fine and full speed, even Second Life (still using it for testing purposes... lol)

    note: it's not a permanent problem, happening (at me) at most at afternoon and evening (european time, since i'm in germany), it was also fine for ~1 hour from 21:00 to 22:00 (also european time), but issues started again then. No AV or similar running in background.

    First off, I'm not an admin, I'm a volunteer player, like you, that happily surrenders his time to work on getting issues resolved to make everyone's experience improved.

    2nd, I respond as quickly as I can to vague or incomplete reports because I work in Customer Service (NOT FOR CRYPTIC OR PWE) and I know what questions to ask to get as much information on a problem to make it easier for the engineers to hunt and fix the problem. A vague "this isn't working, plz fix" post doesn't help anyone.

    3rd, I haven't responded before now, cos I've been in work, I've only got to start playing myself.

    4th, I've raised this as an issue for investigation. I do apologise that you're all having issues getting in game, but you are not alone, and you are certainly not forgotten.

    Please have some patience while the team tries to track the cause of the issue so they can get a fix in place.

    Maybe they could be merged. And I would like to point out that my launcher and game works perfectly right now (07:00 CEST) as it was yesterday morning. But in the afternoon and evening (17:00 CEST) I have the same problem. A very slow launcher and inability to connect. Yesterday I used EU proxy and it helped for a while and I could get to the game. But as the time went on, even this solution did not work. It really seems the server can not handle the load.

    I have never had such a problem with STO since 2010 when I joined. Please keep us informed as this issue really makes the game unplayable for many of us. Thank you.
