Triple Bonus Weekend

Couldn't find more information on this:

http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/9544313-star-trek-online:-triple-bonus-reward-weekend-starting-now!

When does it actually start? right after the today's patch and end on Monday or does it start Friday midnight? Define "weekend" for Cryptic's terms.
I just want to start grinding but if not until Saturday...dont want to grind uselessly.pig-28.gif

It should start as always after the Thursday patch , and last until sometime on Monday (depending on which timezone you're in) .

These things (along with time conversions for international players) used to be posted by previous Community Managers in the relevant Blogs .
Our most recent CM decided that these things no longer matter, because ... reasons .

Apparently the Official STO Forums are no longer the place to find out important, Official things about the game.

    Mine came up with... "MAYBE"

Which makes about as much sense as what has been happening to these forums.

Here's hoping that vacation is permanent .

I guess they are afraid of people asking questions...Galactic News is where they used to put information. Doesn't help to give ambiguous infomation to players...for instance if they want to sell a new box ship they'd say "starting Thursday September 10th until September 23th at 10am we would be offering." For this promos or FREE bonus just being ambiguous since prob dont want peeps to take advantage of the great deal.

Thanks for the forums and the players who seem to have most of the answers better than the DEV or community team on this one. pig-30.gif

It's on the fracking official Star Trek Online website. The very same place where the official Star Trek Online forums are hosted. The news are listed in the launcher.

Why do they really need to put a post on the forums? Why would their forums be more important to give the information than the game's website itself?

Because its usually a day late in the client, and the website looks like a 12 year old used a CMS to make it.

It's not really a day late - it's on when the event is on, and any earlier announcement just leads to confusion because generally there are always some people that can't read and miss important information like "when does the event start" or "where do I need to go" or what not...

I am not at home so the game client is not open. I am reading the forum on a mobile device so it might be difficult to find all the information required. Communication with the players is the right thing to do. Having the information earlier and in multiple places might lead to more players logging in earlier.
Have you tried the new forum on your phone?

    Cryptical choice of words.

Of course ist the same contend just massive boost to rewards.

Think a friend of mine grinded 3 sepc points yesterday evening playing new mission and doing a few sector red alerts in a verry short timeframe. I stationed all my toons at security officers to turn in saved contraband. 4k Dil it seems.

    Formula: 4k Dil/toon turn-in x 9 toons x 4 turn-ins/day x 3 days = 432k Dil

    Cheers.

I know I like it. Got on my KDF BOP captain who is lv37. I decided to do a FE to get her closer to lv40. One FE got her to 39.5. Not bad at all. I will do another to get that final bump. So she can be in her final ship. Since they don't have a lot to choose from for BoPs. I know my Romulan and KDF mains will love it as well. Since I'm trying to get them to lv60.

I smiled when my lv60 main filled up an unusually massive chunk of her XP bar just from running Midnight.

I'm gonna have fun this weekend.

Update on mine. KDF main is like 2 bars from leveling. I should hit Lv58 by event's end. Low level KDF alt, got her Lv40 mark and the last BoP. Now I'm gearing up the ship. Since it will be her main ship, unless a really cool T6 comes out.

As the server was experiencing problems today with a lot of disconnects etc., could the time for the bonus be extended please?

Ditto suzanna3... Would love an extension, perhaps all the way to Thursday, since no player plays as much weekdays as weekends...

I don't think it would be a good idea to extend an event because someone tried to stir up trouble. It'd set a really bad precedent.

If no one is able to participate in the event, then that is potential lost revenue. Especially if it was caused by things outside Cryptic's control. When the server goes into emergency maintenance for an extended period of time they typically extend whatever event was going on at the time for an equivelent amount of time to allow people to finish.

They extended the Crystaline event a bit recently, and I can see them extending this weekend event by at least a day to make up for today and the DDoS attack on Neverwinter, which affected STO as well.

I'm aware of the past extensions and their reasons. I think it would set a bad precedent to extend an event due to troublemakers making trouble.

Your average user won't have the skill or resources to pull this off so I don't see why it is a "bad precedent".
