You have a point!! In that case disco balls, female toon outfit choices, and Odin's torpedoes could use a healthy nerf as well. While we are at it, nerf the NBA, major highways in California, and cars with the steering wheel on the right side.
Disclaimer: This list of things I do not use is not complete, but a mere subset of things that I would be extremely happy with them nerfing. If I have missed anyone's favorite things, please submit a list of items that you use. As long as those items aren't things I use, I will petition for a nerf to them as well.
Joking aside, how are you anything but indifferent to a nerf to something that you don't even use?
I have some Embassy Consoles but I no longer use them. This is not because I have complaints about their performance "post nerf". When I considered the costs and time myself and others spent to get the Fleet to the point where Embassy Consoles were available, I discovered the return on investment was not viable nor sensible. Even if the Devs do get around to "fixing" them "someday". Which they probably will not. Repairing things in game which are currently broken does not qualify as a revenue generator. Manhours and payroll spent on something which is already released are manhours and payroll taken away from completing and releasing on schedule that new US $30.00 T6 ship.
There is a huge disconnect in how players view this game and how the Dev team and Perfect World view it.
- To players, this is a fun place which is loosely Star Trek based where we get to be Kirk or Picard or Sisko or Janeway.
- To Perfect World, it is a revenue stream where things which do not contribute to the bottom line must be purged as efficiently as possible.
- To the Dev Team, it is merely a steady paycheck. Until a better job comes along. Then it becomes an entry in a resume.
Don't get me wrong. I do think some of the pwe/cryptic staff care as much about this game as players do. But most of them probably view us as nerds they make easy money off of while making fun of us where we cannot see or hear. Color me cynical if you must, but don't act surprised when you find out I could be correct.

You hit the nail on the head. That is why many in my fleet aren't giving cryptic another dime until they reverse course on this. It may not generate revenue but it certainly cost them. Not participating in the lock box <stuff>. Not even CCA nerts to metrics.
I hope they do not reverse this. Relying on broken consoles combined with uber crits is just dumb. If some people can not adapt they deserve what they got.
But the whole game just needs an entire expansion dedicated to bug fixing and balancing. a lot of stuff needs nerfs while other things need buffs.
have no trouble completing the same content that I was able to before
DPS is down, but I still put out sufficient DPS to easily complete advanced STFs. I rarely ran elites before, so no noticeable change other than DPS is noticeably down, around 20% lower than before. It's given me the motivation to learn more about torp boats. Amazingly, with far less upgraded gear than my energy weapon setups, the torp boat is putting in the highest DPS since the embassy console changes.

I imagine the issue of joining a queue and having the fun sapped out of it because of people doing insane DPS has something to do with it. This change on its own doesn't cure that disease but I imagine it helps a little.
Wait, no entry for, "I don't use them" or, " I don't use them for the plasma explosions"?
Everyone knows Torp Boaters are heathens
Even I've switched my Scis over from Torps to Energy, because it's just so much easier. Still don't use the Plasma Explosions though (too space poor to afford them).
The biggest nerf for me was the one before when +plasma damage % was changed to +exotic plasma damage. I don't even use them now, there are much better consoles out there. But I would like a refund of all the dil I spent buying and upgrading those consoles back. We should be able to trade these consoles back since they are now nothing like the originals which was why I got them.
have no trouble completing the same content that I was able to before
I kinda stopped using them after Bort nerfed them to death. Using two crafted [EPS] consoles now (for RCS and a PrtG Science one). My DPS is down a bit, but not by much.
I've haven't noticed a discernible change/don't care to parse or watch my damage that closely
i still use them. because i use them also for flow or part gen, and even if i don't care about dps, i was invited in dps 30k after the nerf, now with the current emb consoles i do more dps; strange !!!
i wanted to replace the emb consoles with others with flow and part gen; but i don't like crafting and the prices in the exchange are ridiculous. thus, these emb consoles are still a good choice.
have no trouble completing the same content that I was able to before
My personal opinion, they are fixed the way they should be, no console such as these, should be packing the punch of a quantum torpedo per console like they were!!!

The partgens are still as high as ever. +35.6 on UR XIV, which was the main reason I bought them anyway. It also adds +10.7% plasma-based exotic damage, though it doesn't say to what it adds it or even what it is in the item info. Gravity Well and Particle Emission Torpedo spreads were my mainstay anyway, given a science ship doesn't (generally) have the seats for a commander or lt commander tactical ability and tend to lack tactical console slots for the multipiers.

Well, I do know it effects plasma energy weapons, as my corrosive plasma weapons are boosted by them, and my particle emission plasma torpedoes also are effected!!!

and that is the real reason they were rebalanced. the proc from the console was doing insane damage all on it's own.

With the lag fixes and returning to a cookie cutter build, my average DPS is literally the same post nerf. The only difference is that I cannot sap your fun with as many different ships as I could before.
If you want to help cure the disease, help us hold Cryptic to their promise that Elite STFs would come back shortly after Delta Rising. Where are ISE, CSE, KSE, and now NWS? If we get this content back, you can play in your sandbox, we can play in ours. It would help for awhile until forum warriors petition to nerf Elites because an elite team is required, and they want their participation trophy.

I considered these consoles some time ago, but hadnt worked out the build in my head before I started hearing "OMG how amazing are these consoles and my DPS!!" in various channels and thought to myself "that's going to get the nerfbat, I'll save my resources".
I still may pick one up for my sci toon but there are a few other consoles out there I might consider sacrificing one of my universals for these days.
"If this will be our end, then I will have them make SUCH an end as to be worthy of rememberance! Out of torpedos you say?! Find me the ferengi!".
Whatever happened to making a build that you enjoy, and then making the build work in STF's?
In short order:
DPS happened (via parsing & gamer mentality that came after F2P).

The clinging to DPS as a 'solution' to DR by a growing segment of the community .
And as to your question ... , you might have well asked "what happened to slapping in a couple of Neutroniums and a few Mk XI Blue weapons on a new ship and going to have some fun in an STF ?" .
Now that question might have gotten a different answer ... , something like the STO Devs hating their original game and them working hard on making the game into a "serious MMO" all the while building on a shoddy engine build that eventually could no longer support their lofty ambitions & poor "fast programming" skills .
As of now, the only thing this game engine reliably supports are countdown timers .

We were told that adding countdown timers and nerfing anything with a good xp/dil payout would make unenjoyable content more fun to play remember? Never use a carrot when you have a stick.

I knew using Kinetics would be playing the game on hard mode, but what I didn't realize was how bad the deck is stacked against Kinetics.
I wonder the same thing myself.
