This Armada deal sounds like a win win for everyone!

Remember you are looking at the calculations for a MAXED out ARMADA.
For an Alpha to receive the 25% XP bonus....there has to be completed (or almost completed) Fleets that agree to stay in the "Gamma" and "Beta" slots and stick with 6.25% XP and 12.5% XP.
Getting to the Alpha top tier is going to be a "race" to see who can retain active fleets in their Armada tree.
+++++++++++
The thing that makes the most difference is that change of the total Fleet scores to 500, vice 750(or whatever it was before...700 and something) So, the all the fleets do not have to be completely finished with all their holdings to reach that top level bonuses/discounts in the Armada.
I think 500 still sounds too high...but I am not sure how many fully completed 56-point Fleets exist...and how many are almost there. Those fleets will, also, have to agree to BE in the Beta and Gamma slots, vice the Alpha.

As per the new stats, the bonuses unlock at level 20 and increase every 20 levels up to 500, here is the new math.[color]
comrademoco...Calculations for completed DL mine....it skews the whole chart!
Please put in the numbers for a midway point...say a Level 15 armada (which may be closer to what most people would be able to achieve at the start).
Everybody seems to be focusing on Gamma or Alpha....the whole Beta segment is getting lost.
It is a shame there isn't a way to put in a Table on this forum.

You are correct... From where I'm looking, with a small T6 (should be T15 with the other three holdings all at T1) with the active members, we spend most time running provisioning assignments now allowing the members to purchase their goodies than actually advancing the fleet holdings. In this case, it sounds great to get help advancing the fleet while still maintaining the provisions needed. For small fleets, the incentive is the dil discount and the help advancing. What I noticed was the incentives for large fleets, the XP bonus any the opportunity to let their members earn fleet credits more regularly.
What I FAILED to notice, and the point you brought up, it's that what happens when my small fleet reaches its 56th level and the members vote to leave the Armada and become an alpha?? At this point, with no prior warning, we'd lose our dil discount, the old alpha losses its XP bonus it just earned, and are back to square one trying to work back to level 500 with a new set of gamma fleets... Herein lies the flaw... There will be some fleets in this armada system that will NEVER be able to retain their rewards for all the work they do for smaller fleets...
SO, either the rewards need to be increased to actually be OK when a small fleet gets big and leaves, or the larger fleets need to be very selective about which fleets they allow to be gamma, or there needs to be a penalty when a gamma leaves an armada without permission...
Hmm... much to think about, we have...

Nice, comrademoco! Thanks for the number crunching! Actually, the 25%bonus doesn't sound like much until you see how much content one actually plays. In essence, where a player might earn 4 skill points, this allows them to earn 5... It's enough of a difference to make an impact yet not make the game go too quickly... It certainly lessens the grind!
This Armada deal sounds like a win win for everyone!
CM
Yeah, but remember that this requires all 13 fleets to be maxed.
Highly unlikely that any armada will gain the theoretical maximum if only for the reason that a maxed fleet will agree to be a gamma fleet unless they are reaaaally short on members and don't have much donation power anymore for some reason.

The numbers are absurd to make any enticement from fully tiered fleets. If you get 50-100% bonus from any XP bonus weekend why join as an armada. I see realistic XP bonuses as discussed here:
Yes, I can definitely try the math at other levels.
However keep in mind that the armada levels STILL go to 728, but the bonus caps at 500 this means that not all fleets have to be level 56. So the new math I posted does not necessarily have to be from 13 maxed out fleets.

In fact, the average level for each fleet would only need to be about 38 for maximum benefit in a full Armada. That's the (soon to be) 4 small holdings done and say a Tier 1 Shipyard and Starbase.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.

Don't the bonuses stack?
Actually, how would the bonuses stack? If your armada gives a 10% experience bonus, during a bonus xp weekend, do you get 210% regular experience, or 220%?

They don't stack at that rate you think...more like:
Armada Bonuses are currently as follows:
Skill Point Bonus:
* Alpha Fleet = 1% + 1% per Tier above 1
* Beta Fleet = 0.5% + 0.5% per Tier above 1
* Gamma Fleet = 0.25% + 0.25% per Tier above 1
The Armada uniform option would be a nice one. Not sure if all of my toons would be able to use it...I have a bit of a tendency to play "paper dolls" with my toons and create a ton of outfits for them. But I would especially love this option if given a nice shiny new uniform slot on all of my toons...hint hint...

I haven't really tested the fleet holding... been only focused on the armada tbh...
if it's Section 31... then glad you are part of it rmbr you can invite anyone and everyone to it - free to test access to everything I believe...
Question: Other than dilithium, is there any other discounts (say, to project inputs) or bonuses relating to fleet development in the Armada system?
(I'm intentionally excluding the player skill point benefits from my question.) I'm especially curious because I am one of the principal advisers/officers of a fleet that has its other holdings completed but not its starbase (which has little or no dilithium requirements, I believe), and the leader of another that will be in a similar position soon.
As it stands, it looks like such a fleet would benefit far more from being an alpha or beta (for skill points) because the dilithium discount wouldn't really come into play... or am I reading this wrong?

no, i think you are understanding it perfectly.
While this is an extremely basic question, I still want to ask it: does the armada affiliation of a toon display above their name when you see them in game? Also, are the armadas custom nameable, or do they just take the name of the Alpha fleet?

1st Question... you Toon's name only states your fleet's name...
2nd Question... as current build Armadas take the alpha fleet's name... this is to change later when it gets updated as per borticus statement, if possible...

as of now, no and no.
in a recent podcast geko said he hopes to have armadas nambable in time for launch, but if not then shortly after.

Only on the actual tier upgrades - the "small" routine projects use none at all.
Well, sort of. The 1000 XP projects do not -- but they're doff heavy and it'd take about a year to level up doing them. The 500 XP projects generally do cost dilithium.
I'm glad to see the re-calculated XP bonus reward. So much better than the ones done before. Just hope they will at least keep this as a base if not higher
Hey guys, I did state before that I was going to relisten to the podcast/interview with Cpt Geko, but after listening and gathering information I decided to not post what was said on the podcast as it was not of much... importance??? for lack of better word, but nonetheless I will quick detailed what he mentioned...
Possible Custom Armada Names
Possible Armada Logos/Uniforms
Possible Expansion of the system to allow more than 13 fleets
I take it the people who've played around with the system on tribble can tell if it allows X faction or not?
as this would be a massive help to the fleets like mine who have a t5 fed but only t3Kdf
No cross faction at launch, but it is something that the devs are looking into for a future update... you know... all the inviting a fed player to a KDF fleet map and vice versa shamngos have to be worked out before you are able to have 2 X-faction fleets in the same Armada...

more like 7-14% for maxed out fleets. I'm hoping they will crank up the base % from 1% to at least double that or even 3%base.

Maybe they would do it to have a bonus of some sort during the 90% or more of the time that an XP Event isn't running.
In fact, the average level for each fleet would only need to be about 38 for maximum benefit in a full Armada. That's the (soon to be) 4 small holdings done and say a Tier 1 Shipyard and Starbase.

Tier 5 base main upgrade is 3 600 000 Dil.
With Dil mine Bonus: 3 060 000 Dil
With Dil mine + Full Armada bonus gamma spot if its 40%: 2 160 000
That’s almost 1,5 mil Dil less
I originally wanted to do this upgrade soon in one of my fleets. I think this is a time of patience until one is part of the right armada.

Confirmation has been made on the following things
Armadas are now able to cancel OUTGOING invites
Armadas are now able to use Armada Names INSTEAD of Fleets Name.
Oh good! That was rather confusing having the same name for both Alpha and Armada.
