PvP broke yet Again

was in Kerrat today and there is NEW FULL 100% DISABLE ability being stacked and abused .... totally

can't fix pvp if they keep putting broke game mechanics in to ruin it every 2 weeks

literately amazes me that all this grinding is all for pVE

i was disabled more than 6 x ... no ability worked all was blacked out completely from time going into combat until time i blew up and used not 1 of my own abilities before i died with 100 % of all my abilities unused GUESS THATS NOT BROKE .... i bet it stackes or some new junk broke an already old broken fixed game pvp mechanics ....... you really need to use tribble not just look at and say junk in this game is tested because it sucks nuts and bolts ONCE AGAIN


Now all the feds are using Broken SKILL in kerrat to EXPLOIT GRINDING IN KERRAT AGAIN and go unchecked and wild until some dude sitting in his STO chair decides to remove the leather carbon bonded to his rear to do anything about it

    Complains about PVP being broken.

    Doesn't mention which ability is being abused.

    How do you find an ability or trait or specialization that isn't in the combat log , if I'm getting hit by someone else's abilities skills rep or traits or specialization and it doesn't come up on lil icons not all shows up and says hey I'm the broke thing ...

    i guess you can find it aye ? lmao i know how to read combat log icons ,it doesn't show up and its a 100% disable ... there you go

    more than 71% of all my traits specializations rep or genetic resequencers and so on all don't show up ..... so i guess if you can't see the radio waves your radio don't work huh genius ? lmao

    or hey that bird is pushing air with its wings but you can't see it i guess bird falls .... is that your mentality if you can't see and write it down it doesn't exist ??

    There are some utilities like FRAPS that has a screenshot ability that will take the screen "as is" with what you are seeing. Take some screens and maybe some guys that you know or on these boards can disect what's going on.

    I can take some guesses what abilities they can be. I know some others make it feel like a disable but it's not.

    If you have Intel ships yourself, you can test it out and see how the abilities perform, how they behave, what the in's & out's are, and how to recognize them. This would be my ideal route, provided you have an Intel ship.

    After the nerf to Ionic Turbulence, there isn't as big a deal out of Intel anymore.

    This is what happens i fly in and a fuzzy ball blue maybe gets close hits me all trays and all around in the bar that holds trays with skills goes flat out dark and no flickering ofit to go on to have not even an instance to hit 1 emergency skill in-between any time to activate anything .. full blackout

    There's some other nasty stuff from Intel for PVP. Subnucleonic Carrier Wave is a SNB-like ability, and frankly, would scare the **** out of me more than EMP Pulse Probe. EMP Pulse Probe? Those can be destroyed and will track to where the target was when it was fired. It doesn't follow you. Of course, the fun trick is to fire EMP Pulse Probe in very short range with a quick Ionic Turbulence :D

    PvP was broken for a very long time, OP.
    So don't get your funderwear in a knot when something like this happens.

    Time for PVP to go away for ever. PVP has ruined more games then any other factor with one group or another screaming bloody murder that such and such is overpowered compared to my shiney shiney or screaming Whaa Whaa there is no balence (insert whiner reason why). Only game I have seen that has gotten a good mix is Neverwinter with distinct seperate PVP gear that is pretty useless in PVE.
    I feel the best thing for sTO is to spin off PVP onto RedShirt as a seperate game and leave it there and let the PVPers brawl it out and have ZERO influence on the rest of the game.

    Ignoring the uninformed and insular section of this post, we few remaining PvP'rs love this idea. STO Rebirth was the best thing to happen to PvP since ever.

    to the OP. anytime man, it was the first thing that came to mind.

    I had forgot all about subnuke, as I don't PvP myself. only use something like that against the crystalline thingie.

    ionic? emp probe? viral torp? what was it? all those things have been nerfed too thankfully, so if it was them, imagine getting hit much worse by them, a BIG part of why so many pvpers evacuated sto after DR

    PvP didn't ruin anything in STO, it was playable for 4 years.
    What ruined STO is megalomaniacal DPS power creep, selling BS broken gear, trait and ships to PvErs obsessed with DPS.
    Making people grind Argala to get few spec points.
    OP Doffs, ships and weapons in Lockboxes.
    No real content, but instead inflating NPC HP numbers.
    That's what ruined STO-developers short sighted money grabbing plans.

    The term blew up wasn't demonstrating you cannot win because of a change. It was to express the "anger and frustration" one or both sides get when we invest in the builds just to have them nerfed.

    Cannon Escorts are a good example. They used to be great in PVP with half second kills. That was obviously over powered. The change made it so having a competitive cannon build in PVE is difficult. Almost all players are turning towards beams these days.

    I'm not fighting one side or the other since I play both equally. Last time I played PVP I got first place with a Fleet Avenger.

    Canons have never been changed. They are exactly as they have always been... only power creeped in terms of gear.

    The only thing that has changed is a ton of power creep that benifits Silly AOE beam and Sci Particle builds.

    Canons are not the best option in PvE not because of some nerf, its because the games powercreep has made things like FAW the better options. The changes of which can be blamed 100% on PvE not PvP. So you have it backwards its Cryptic Selling PvE power creep to people that prefer to fly cruisers that can be blamed for destroying PvP, and making canons the less then option.

    Of course the real reason PvP has been ruined. Is the developer has no idea what they are doing. Be honest Mr. PvE. Do you use EMP Pulse ? Have you unlocked Viral Torp from the cheapest for a reason (cause the trait is no good for PvE) lockbox ship the beathen ?
    The answers are no and no right ? Cause they have almost no effect in PvE. The developer thought the PvP community would enjoy a bunch of BS stuns. They where wrong and PvP is pretty much dead, even after they corrected the stuns on those skills. (which wasn't for PvP it was because they gave some new NPCs those skills.... go grab argo in the iconian missions get stunned to heck, and realize they where released in a much more potent form).

    Of course you could just blame us as players for Cryptics inadequacies, it is likely more fun.

    Thank you as well. I'm not trying to bash PVP. I am trying to say they need to separate the two onto separate servers so they don't have this balance act which affects both sides. Yes I agree pvp has gotten the brunt of this since DR. I gave up on pvp at that point and many others have as well. :)

    Around the first few seasons of STO we used to be able to keep a constant up time on cannon abilities. In PVP you would find people cloaking and activating two copies of rapid fire then decloaking. They changed the mechanics of the game so you cannot do the double tap trick. The amount of time rapid fire is active was reduced to 10 seconds so you cannot keep a constant flow of rapid fire. There will always be a 5 second delay. The change came about due to a large number of complaints in Karrat. Pve would go there for the mission while Kdf would go there for PVP. For a short amount of time the map was shut down due to the complaints and eventually the already mentioned changes were made. Again.. this is just an example. As stated in this post my argument was not PVE vs PVP. It was separating the two to avoid the constant changes and conflicts with content. :)
