You gonna keep those ships? The Manasa is super fun... "poor man's" Bug Ship, if there is such a thing (maybe aside from the Pilot ships).
I did consider selling the cruiser, but only to raise funds to buy the Manasa; which turned out to be unnecessary. The Manasa is just the perfect ship for my KDF toon, so I'd been hoping to get one for a while now. I'll probably just give the Benthan cruiser to my Fed main; he could do with another ship trait.

I wish I could move my Manasa to my KDF toon... I got it initially for the trait on my main FED toon (Tactical officer that loves cannons). But, the ship itself is just collecting dust, because I fly the Bug on that character (and will switch to a T6 Defiant, if/when such a ship will be released).
Seems like a waste. No way will I pop for another one, either.
Coffee tasted good today because it was made at home. I can't drink coffee straight, so I lovingly pollute it with creamer and sweetener (Carmel Almond and Sweet n Low today). MM MM yummers!
If I get to play today, then I plan to attempt "Delta Flight" mission again. It was unplayable due to a connection issue on my end yesterday. Also, my crafting goal to get my SWD and Dyson WC to UR has been achieved for only ~ 4million EC and ~200K Dilithium. Not too bad.
Should I go to Risa? Me thinks not this summer. Dunno yet.
Child going to dentist for the first time today. I have no idea what's going to happen ...
Speaking of coffee, I'm going to say something crazy here, but...
For a lone time I would buy the starbucks ground coffee and make it at home. Good stuff. However, when I go to visit my mom I drink what she has, and she buys the dollar general store brand(Clover Valley or Clover Field, can't remember). I actually like the taste of that better
Getting back to the starbucks, I normally get a white mocha whenever I'm at their store, which is pretty epic, but hard to make at home. However I found out you can actually buy the sauce they use in the store, so I've bought that a time or two:

Yeah... you want to talk about something potentially crazy/unpopular, LOL...
While I think that Starbucks is good for what it is, and I do go there from time to time... their coffee is terrible. :P In fact, they suck at coffee. It's stale, over-roasted, and (therefore) overpriced. I've never ordered any of the "reserve" beans from them... but, the hum-drum coffee you'd get from your local store is really awful.
And, I get why they're like that... they buy cheap beans, over-roast them to cover impurities, and essentially make the lot of beans "on the same level." This makes the Starbucks taste "consistent," whether you're in Omaha or Seattle. Smart business... but, bad coffee. :P That's why they have to dump 76 grams of sugar into a Vente White Mocha.
A good alternative to Starbucks syrups is a company called Amoretti. You can buy them off of Amazon... and they don't overload with sugar, so you can add to taste. It's a healthier alternative, if one cares about such things.
Yeah, I've been labeled a heretic for saying this (especially as Starbucks is a local company here), but I've gotten better coffee from the gas station. And the one I get coffee at usually has a pot of extra-caffeinated coffee, for those mornings when I just can't get started...
woke up as usual today, got on the computer and instantly went for sto risa voucher thing each day, around 7:50am, play on risa for a few hours, bring in shenna to the vacation point, get the bikini and targ board, figure the jetpack later on.

Hi
I'm new here and I love Star Trek! Captain Kirk is my favorite but I love all the others too!
My favorite episode of the original version was "The Trouble with Tribbles"
My favorite movie of Star Trek is "The Voyage Home"
I always wished Captain Kirk would have got married and his wife also be a captain with him! This way she would be in his world! I think it would have been great for Kirk to have a wife.
In all the episodes and movies he always ended up alone after meeting someone and falling in love. Either the woman would die or she just couldn't stay with him.
It was so sad!

The hospital where I work has TWO Starbucks. One at each end. Despite the double opportunity, I've only bought one coffee there, and have stuck to the cheap free stuff in my work area. I'll drink Starbucks brand, but I tend to find it to be too bitter. I really wished they'd put in a Duncan Donuts coffee stand instead.
Speaking of which, the hospital's two cafeterias serve Seattle's Best. This far from Seattle, I'm sure it is fooling some folk, but I know that is also Starbucks. So actually 4 locations in the hospital. So why have two brands? Are they hoping that those who'll not touch Starbucks will truly think Seattle's Best is different?

So if I'm reading you right, Picard is your favorite captain and you think he would easily beat Kirk?
As a former US Army soldier and a long haul truck driver for the last 22 years, I can say I know a little bit about coffee.
A great many people forget about the water. If the water has something in it, it gets transferred over to the taste of the coffee. The purer the water, the better the taste of the coffee.
I've had some of the worst coffee ever in truck stops all across the US. You've never truly tasted bad coffee until you roll into a Flying J or a Pilot or a Love's or a Petro at 2 AM on an all night run and grabbed a cup to go. I am unsure as to whether it is the caffeine or the nasty taste which kept me awake and aware. Sometimes, all I need it to do is kick my brain into a higher gear, so either is acceptable.
We have Starbucks down here. Every time I go into one I kinda feel like a interloper. Like a serf who suddenly finds himself smack in the middle of the Arch Duke's birthday feast. The coffee is good but the baristas are a bit overwhelming. Then, as I sit there enjoying my cup of joe, I pull out my Alienware laptop. To watch all the Mac Book aficionados recoil in horror at the sight of Windows in such a holy place, lol.
We have one Dunkin Donuts down here. Just one. On Pass Road in Biloxi. Near the mall. One block in from the beach. I have stood in line for about a half hour or so to get a cup. As far as I am concerned, it was worth it.
The casino where my wife and daughter both work has a coffee shop. Which sells this marvelous product of the brewer's art called, "Cafe Beau Rivage". It is my current favorite. Especially when I add in hazelnut and a hint of cinnamon.
A six year old boy and his starship. Living the dream.
Seattle's Best used to be different. Then Starbucks bought them out. Tully's still refuses to fall in line, though.
Sadly, we've not heard of Tully's yet in my part of the continent. We do have, it seems, nearly as many local coffee brands as we've got microbreweries. A few of them are actually pretty good.
As far as national/global brands, well, I had a Death Wish once. It was actually pretty good. Not something I could handle all the time, but good every so often.
See, the wonderful thing about coffee... and the thing the majority Americans seem to miss about it (sorry about painting with my big brush there, just speaking from experience)... is how broad of a taste spectrum good coffee has. In a sense, it's a lot like wine.
Most people know of two types of wine: red or white. Any true wine aficionado cringes at that thought, however, because there is so much more to wine than that. There's obviously a difference between a Cab and a Chardonnay... but, there's also a difference between a Cab and a Merlot, or a Cab and a Pinot Noir. Not all grapes (and, therefore, wines) are equal.
The same goes for coffee. Depending on the region you get your bean from, the way that bean is roasted, and the method you use to brew the coffee... all can impact flavor long before you add caramel or hazelnut or creamer. Freshness also impacts the taste of coffee... and, not just "freshly-brewed" stuff at a gas station, or the smell of your "freshly"-opened Maxwell House.
There's a reason why Starbucks isn't successful in Australia (a fact I did not realize, since I'm in "Murica")... to Aussies, apparently, Starbucks coffee is like box wine, LOL. Oh, sure... you can drink it, and it will get you where you want to go eventually (drunk or caffeinated, depending on your drink, LOL)... but, there are SO MANY better options. I highly encourage anyone to explore the world of coffee (it's cheaper than wine, LOL).

the problem with aussies writing from experience is that they crazy people, at least to the few i know of and in a great way. i cant speak for every other aussie or irish person. still you give an aussie a carlsberg, they think it tastes of, well, waste yellow liquid and they would want you to take down a fosters instead. they call that a beer . they see your cat and you think thats a problem, they compare it to an aligator in the backyard as a an invader and say thats a kitty cat as far as problems go and could even consider it a pet :P. never know with some aussies.

Does all coffee taste so bitter, even with sweeter? I've only had sips of it but does all of it taste that way?
No. I actually had a flat white a few months ago... no joke... it tasted like a peanut butter cup. With zero sweetener in it, just milk and coffee. Can't remember what the bean was, but it was crazy!
And yummy.
Again, really good coffee is like wine... you'll get tasting notes when you drink it, but if you go into wine expecting Kool-Aid or grape juice, you'll hate it. Same with coffee. Sugar changes it a lot. I would say, though, that "bitter" coffee = overroasted = garbage. :P
If you want to know what "bitter" coffee is like, then come to my work. "Coffee" is being liberally nice to the idea. Hell, calling this dark dirt "garbage" is insulting to garbage. Adding creamer and sweetener to this liquified TRIBBLE is like trying to spray Febreeze on a fresh TRIBBLE cloud ...
Hmm. I wonder what would happen if I used Decaffinated grinds in the regular coffe pot for a month, then switched to Espresso ...
Does all coffee taste so bitter, even with sweeter? I've only had sips of it but does all of it taste that way?
depends how you roast it. the stuff i usually get is "rich roast" different shops have different sources their coffee products and from different places because there are different types of rich roast coffee like other blends. i usually drink that with some demarera and a bit of milk, not semi skinned, has a different taste, not as smooth in blended then you would get with full fat straight from the fresh bottled milk cream included :P.
i tried a few others including arabica which i found to be rather dull tasting compared to what i am used to. i have tasted oother types as mentioned, some of them are real foul tasting.

Iced coffee has more caffeine than hot coffee. Iced coffee is also NOT hot coffee with ice in it.
