To be clear, I'm going to hold off on adding maps until figure out how to do it right. ESD is still not working, so until that is fixed, and I know how/why, there's no point in adding more.
We understand. Obviously it doesn't help anyone if the map is unusable. We'll go ahead and do the poll anyway, just to see where the community stands.
Am I going in the right direction with the Detail Objects list? Do you see anything on there that makes you say "I can't do that" or "I don't know what this means"?
Taco, I know you don't do the actual programming, but can you ask why there's not an option to specify how many BOFFs for away missions? Story missions, patrols, etc, take anywhere from 0-5 BOFFs, but there's no option to have a captain beam in with fewer than 5 in Foundry missions.

I was thinking about this at work earlier and I realized: Nimbus III has a volume that despawns your Boffs as you walk into it, and respawns them when you walk out of it.
Taco, time permitting, of course, can you or Zero or one of the random minions ya'll pretend not to have dropped control chips in take a look at the viabliity of getting us this volume?
I had a brainwave. I'm separating the Detail Object list into two categories. Map Detail Groups, where we vote on what map we want Taco to dig into for whatever objects he can find (like he did with new ESD) and other single object requests that might not be covered by that.
Like if we could put a ship at red alert or not. Or even have the player put the ship at red alert. Perhaps wall segments that are two of the same. One with red flashing lights and one without.?
Deep space nine ops and quarks bar interiors would be nice.
More federation bridge options.
More engineering set options.
New warp cores. TNG engineering warp core would be nice. Speaking of TNG Engineering, how about the "pool table." The table that sits in the middle of the engneering corridor. And something similar to Geordi's office?
You have a transporter room set up. How about a sick bay?
The maps you already have are great but what about the peaces? Such as the ops and conn consoles on the Galaxy bridge? Or the horse shoe?
Actual ship windows. And the ability to control the lighting as well.
Ypu have shuttlecrafts. How about a Runabout?
I can think of all kinds of things. Just some ideas.

Ok, first, there is no existing TNG interior assets besides the bridge, which is a launch asset and likely to be revamped and replaced with an actual TNG interior. We cannot request assets that do not exist already because it requires artist time. They're busy doing stuff the rest of the game. We can only request what they've already made. We can get a Voyager warp core, a Defiant Warp core, or a Sovereign warp core. But not a Galaxy one.
As far as lighting goes, we just got omnilights a few months back. There are also several backdrops that affect lighting.
Some of the hallways of the federation player ship interior (the large one I think), look vaguely TNG-ish. But yeah otherwise there's not much from the Enterprise D lying around. Except the Galaxy bridge of course, although I know people have issues with it's cannon-ness.
The minimap static effect. It's currently used in the maintenance tunnel section of "Temporal Ambassador"... a similar effect already exists in Foundry but is currently limited to use on space maps (this one also puts static on main screen).
Can we please have either of those unlocked for use on ground maps as well? I'm thinking one or the other should be very easy to adapt.... (one is already ground, used in a Cryptic mission; the other would need conversion from space but is already in Foundry).
Don't worry, your earlier post did not go unnoticed. I have it on the list. I can't speak to the feasibility of adding FX like this, but it is on the list.

We're getting full scale Danube and Yellowstone-class Runabouts as well as the Romulan Kestral shuttle when the editor unlocks.
I'm still relatively new to the Foundry community so please excuse what I don't know.
All I'm trying to say is more interactivity with the sets they provide. One of my frustrations is wanting to create an original location with limited choices. I don't necessarily want the TNG interiors, but peaces so we can make our own. So ya, Defiant warp core, fine. But something else besides that purple one.
More choices in the hallway wall interiors so we can make better sky castles.
How about the ability to save your sky castles so you can use it on other Foundry missions?
Since artist time is a problem how about incorporating the ability for the user to introduce objects. To create their own and submit it.
I'm also responding to my critics on my missions. And one of the complaints were the limited interiors. A defiant engine room with a galaxy bridge. Things like that. Those are the choices I have. I'm just asking for more.

Because immature people would try to sneak in parts of human anatomy and other inappropriate things, and policing those submissions would require resources they do not have.

I didn't think of that. LOL. The logicial side is saying of course, the devil in me is saying oh c'mon!

True. But they could still have an annual competition and let players submit models. Throw out anything inappropriate. Keep the top x number and BOOM free models they could drop in the game.
I'm sure there are down sides to this but as the idea is a solid 10 seconds old in my noggin I haven't really thought of them yet.
Why is there a HUGE model of a galaxy class in the Foundry? The thing is humungus, you can land your full size ship on it? Why is that?
The reason why I mention it is because I was looking through the stuff for a crashed landed ship. I wanted to do a saucer section. Life size saucer section model for a outdoor land map is probably too big. But how a shuttlecraft or runabout? Just a thought.
I understand this thread isn't strictly about FX, but something I, personally, would like to see added is the Captain Only volume from Nimbus 3 - the one that removes BOFFs.
I have read a post by Taco (can't think where that is at the moment) that said he though it was definitely possible.

Sooo Geko talked(around 0:35:00) about maybe retiring Big Dig and Breaking the Planet.... We can haz those maps?

What would be very nice is if we could force melee.
Maybe its a map wide effect similar to the gravity or hostile environment assets we drag onto the map or just a feature under map settings
Noooo not Big Dig! I like that one.

Pretty sure that's just one of the floor consoles tipped over, and shoved into the wall.
