Asset and Map Request Polls 2.0

It has been nearly a year since we last ran a poll to see what the community wants Cryptic to focus on in terms of adding maps and assets to the Foundry. Many things have happened since then, we have lots of new stuff in game, and we've had a number of assets crossed off the list (Space stations, New ESD, etcs).

So, we're going to do a new poll. Two new polls actually, as this time we're going to do separate polls for maps and detail objects.

What I need from the community for this round are suggestions. Please post here with maps and detail objects that you think should be added to the Foundry. Once I get the two lists compiled, I will open the voting for a couple weeks.

I've looked at the previous polls to get the new list started, and I'll be adding in anything people suggest here as we go.

So, post below with your suggestions.

Some things to keep in mind:
-Consider not just what you want, but also what might be of value to the widest variety of authors.
-Be detailed, so I know exactly what assets or maps you're requesting.
-The only assets or maps we'll get are ones already in the game. It is unfortunately not feasible for Cryptic to build assets only for the Foundry.
-Right now I'm just building the lists, voting comes later.
-These are general polls to see what direction the Cryptic devs should go in if and when they get time to add assets or maps. Items on the poll (even the winning ones) are not guaranteed to be added.

    No no, not tired of waiting or anything :) it was only a couple days ago that you suggested this after all. It was just percolating in my mind a little over the weekend and I asked Taco this morning on Twitter and he said "Yeah I was just thinking this would be beneficial." So I figured that I have all the materials from last time so it's easy enough for me to do it. I can refine my techniques from last time.

    We'll probably do a separate poll for "tech" features like freecam and costume import. Do you have a specific example of the kind of Romulan Wall Console you're interested in?

    - New Romulus under attack ("Blood of Ancients")
    - New Romulus gateway/power station ("Sphere of Influence/Blood of Ancients")
    - Qo'noS under attack ("Brotherhood of the Sword")
    - Freighter interior ("Uneasy Allies")
    - Turei surface, including meteor shower backdrop ("Revelation")
    - The Solanae Dyson Sphere sun map, without the station or gateway, and with the ability to use any of the standard backdrops ("A Step Between Stars")

    There was something on the list called "Origin Interior" Is that the interior used in the Tutorial, U.S.S. Kirk, Delta Flight?

    I think I saw somewhere people wanted the parts of the corridors / rooms etc? if so I'll go grab some screeniews of them later.

    Yeah I think the most complete version of that "Origin Interior" is the updated USS Kirk

    I don't think this map is substantially changed from the regular version (they've been reusing a lot of maps lately). So I think the best way to do this is put it on the list once. If we have the map we can add our own wreckage if we wanted. Qo'noS is far more changed in its under attack version, so I'll add that separately.

    So my biggest request would be the Room Kits the devs use to assemble interiors. Taco mentioned them at one point. I assume they are pieces sections of room/corridors that they can use to build their interiors. A few that come to mind:

    The Origin ship interior room kits
    The Romulan Republic ship Interior room kits
    The Solanae/Dyson Interior room kits
    The Vaadwaur tunnels room kits
    The Elachi room kits
    The generic room kits from the revamped Treasure Trading Station

    I would like to ask that for any sliding door that's added, the door and the frame be added separately. This would allow us to swap between locked and unlocked versions without TRIBBLE up the pathing.

    Another asset I think would be very useful is the "Captain Only" field from Paradise on Nimbus. I'm hoping this could serve as a poor man's away team remover.

    EDIT: I was reminded of the melee-only volume from Colosseum.

    Something I've been wanting to ask about is if music and or sound effects could be loaded into detail objects.

    As far as maps, I definitely want to second the empty interior map.

    After seeing some awesome objects, the next update I'd like to see more basic stuff. There is still much important missing.

    So here is what I want to see:


    - Romulan and Klingon wall consoles (there are many for federation, not even one for those factions), as well as more consoles would be nice (we have so many fed consoles, and so less for those)

    - Transporterrooms for each faction

    - Opening doors, first versions of those that are already as non opening available.

    - Door frames, we have many doors but no door frame.

    - The round and donut platform versions for the recently added floor platforms (important that they should have the same size as the old platforms, even though additional sizes were not bad maybe)

    - Platforms whith sand-/earth texture (maybe for the ground of a cave etc)

    - Many more walls for each faction

    - Red alert stuff, walls, consoles, the sound effect etc. (don't forget when adding also a red alert version of the turbolift object)

    - Force fields for each faction (including a new vertical for federation, the one we have isn't flat, bad when we need two above each other, they're not flat)

    - Romulan arrest cells, as well as versions of all arrest cells with deactivated force field

    - Romulan, Klingon and Federation wall enblems (we have a klingon one I know, but it's only working for very large rooms)

    - the walls/barricades from paradise city on nimbus


    So that's the basic stuff I really want to see in Foundry. Now the lower priority, more exotic stuff:

    - Space Volume (were we could walk only slowly, like in the episode were we walk on the hull of DS9)

    - The targetable points for the ev-suit (don't know the exact name, the ones that are also on the DS9 hull to move faster from point to point)

    - A crate where the player can pick up a flashlight

    - A crate where the player could pick up a ev-suit or floaters (I'm not sure if this could be used to exploit, so maybe a version that only works on foundry missions, or is removed from inventory when completing a mission)

    - The aquarium from the fleet embassy's staircase

    - The Bortas ship model from the klingon shipyard

    - The spinning light on the top of hassan's night club on nimbus.

    Actually, the Vega ground we now have lacks the Borg stuff. Someone said they thought it was a piece of the old KA mission before it became a Queue. Apparently there was a short part where you ran across the surface of Vega before you went inside the Borg building underground. But, we could build Borg stuff on it so if I had to chosoe between the two old maps I'd choose the one we have.

    Maps:
    • A "naked" version of Kobali Prime ground (w/o any of the military emplacements that are baked into the in-game map)
    • Bortasqu' bridge/interior
    • Herald Sphere interior (as seen in "Uneasy Allies")
    • Romulan ship interior without the singularity core baked in (see below)
    • Lae'nas III post-"Blood of Ancients" (with the planet showing damage from the Iconian weapon)

    Assets:
    • Kobali Prime military emplacements (barricades, turrets, etc.)
    • New-style Romulan wall segments and doors (as seen in Republic ship interiors)
    • Origin wall segments and doors
    • Two different versions of the singularity core asset: A static version (for malfunction situations and such) and an animated version that rotates as seen in-game (for normal operation)
    • Floating Delta animation (as seen above Delta Recruit objectives)

    Last but not least, here is a link to my list of proposed volume assets from a few months back.

    Personally, I imagine that you're Geordi LaForge? Our Captains needs a special piece of technology and you and your ENG team kit-bashes it for us.

    Those date back from launch, however. I would have to go look, but did you guys make any new ones for Legacy of Romulus?
