I broke down what Borg Red Alerts give you now on tribble and on holodeck using Orellius as a baseline:
    http://www.reddit.com/r/sto/comments/3489vm/borg_red_alert_changes_on_tribble_4282015/

OK, thanks for that. It might not be that bad of a change, BUT:
    - Isn't Tribble still under the double XP event guise? It would put the updated Red Alerts at 'only' double xp of current holodeck (which is still nice, sure).
    - Is the 30 min lockout applying for ANY Borg Red Alert, or only for the specific sector Borg Red Alert (and, uh, yes, you don't know what sector a current RA will take you to in the mission window).
    - Locking it to lvl 50 is unfortunate, it's been fun figting the Borg in low-tier vessels. And it's a welcome change of pace from story missions (when you run a dozen or two of story missions, a very welcome change of pace).

Either way, seems like this is a plus for those that are level 50 that are doing it for marks (small quantities but still more than before).

It's a bad change for those that liked to run it at lower levels and/or to get xp (despite the added xp, you can now run many, many red alerts in half an hour, that will apparently not continue to be possible) and/or to get the associated accolades.

All in all, where revamps go, that's on the better side, but I still can't say I like it. I was rather in the group 'bad change' above.

Otherwise some nice fixes, but why is the account/fleet bank and mail item change to dynamic taking so long? That's one bug that I considered caused by an oversight, which should be easily fixed. Apparently I was wrong...

Updated the cutscene of the Romulan ship abduction at the end of "Cutting the Cord," in light of recent story revelations.

Still retconning the story I see .

Not that the is anything more important to do .

... I know , I know , what could be more important then "THE FRIKK'N ICONIANS DID IT !!!!!!!" . Remind us again how you're planning to shortchange the Iconians by shortening this "war" to a few skirmishes ... ?

I don't remember Tribble being under Double XP. It was, at least during Delta Rising testing. Unless you can confirm?

I have one question. When are you going to give a time increase to the Tour the Galaxy Mission like you said was going to happen in the blog that described the changes coming to the new Sector maps?

Constant crashing in Zaria system mission not even a known issue

Just wanted to throw out there I saw constant crashing in the Dyson ground battlezone too... I submitted a few crash reports but according to zone chat I wasn't the only one.

Hopefully these other issues get resolved too

Tribble is being brought down for maintenance to update it to build ST.50.20150401a.28.

    [*]Borg Red Alerts:
    • Reward packs are now automatically unpacked when received and function just like system patrol rewards such as in the Delta Quadrant.
    • The daily repeatable missions for these have been removed.
    • Added a 30 minute cooldown to each Borg Red Alert.
    • Each Borg Red Alert requires the Captain to be at least level 50 to enter.

Can we get some clarification about these? So are the Borg RA's now able to be done every 30 minutes or once per day? Also I thought these were double XP areas before, not sure why these are going to be 50+ now?

Also the old Gamma Orionis DSE daily is not accessible since the sector space revamp

Was Sela's ship updated too, since the cutscene was using the outdated model before the release of the new Scimitar ships with Legacy of Romulus?

The game is currently unplayable with the lag. All other issues need to be dropped and priority set to fixing the lag.

Game Development isn't like your job at McDonald's, where when you are short on french fries another person can come help cook them. People have very specific job abilities, many of which have minimal or no bearing on lag.

Taking those people and having them work on lag would likely make the lag worse, in same was as having one of your McDonald's co-workers try to perform brain surgery would likely not run out well.

An since paying people to come to work and sit around, so only lag issues are worked on would be pretty stupid, they still work on tasks that their skills are suited for.

It definitely kept going with Double XP well after DR rolled to Holodeck. Notably when they upped the rewards for Delta Q. and Tau Dewa patrols (and added 30 min CDs to them), some players got overly excited with the Tribble values that turned out to still be under the 'double xp' effect.

I guess one could check easily xp rewarded for featured episodes and compare the two servers (I'll check if I get a moment).

"Each Borg Red Alert requires the Captain to be at least level 50 to enter."

This is kinda a huge nerf to the originally intended purpose of these red alerts, since the idea of these Red Alerts originally was that /every/ ship should join the fight when a RED ALERT distress call picked up. Also, the double EXP was a way of granting lower level players a way to grab some bonus EXP for their trouble, and they were scaled up to 45.

I can solo a Borg Red Alert in My Scimitar on holodeck now, where back in Season 7 I could not solo it in my Defiant. I pop the cubes in like two weapon cycles of FAW. The borg red alerts are almost too easy, (so you know... a low level but scaled up player could still legitimately fight them) but now that is taken away, what's the point? If you're going to lock it out to 50+ (which I don't really agree with), why not buff them up a bit? Because the cubes in red alerts are weaker than normal STFs.

30 minute cooldown, fine. But locking out <50 players seems like a bad move, since you know... this is literally what they were for in the first place.

    Content:
    • Borg Red Alerts:
      • Each Borg Red Alert requires the Captain to be at least level 50 to enter.

    This one has consequences.

D'Vak has no right in giving you a mission at level 44 for content that you cannot then play until level 50.

Also, after making such a valiant effort against the Borg in the Federation Tutorial, Starfleet would be foolish to then say to their new captains "Sorry, we don't think you're suitable for this mission."
Therefore, you should remove the level requirement, or rewrite your Federation tutorial.

    Oh, wait - didn't you already re-write it...? ;)

What is this lag that I hear being brought up by people. I play on a satellite internet connection with between 700 ms and 900 ms pings and the game is still playable. There is no more lag experienced that what I have on other games like TESO, DDO, LOTRO, and EQ2. Less lag than Neverwinter, SWTOR, TSW and Age of Conan which are still playable at times all those games are at the same 700-900 ms pings. Even on a lightspeed cable connection (3 mbps) when my aunt had me housesitting for her there was no real difference in lag other than specific situations where the low ping on cable helped.

If you are lagging more than some one with a Satellite connection you need to look at your connection, computer security, computer hardware and game settings to be the culprit before blaming the cryptic devs. Have you tried playing the game on lower settings, Have you adjusted firewall settings or tried with the firewall off, is your antivirus interfering with the performance, do you have things that are auto-updating when you experience the lag.... I could go on but you should get the idea. Check for all possible problems that could be happening on your end, if that doesn't work contact your ISP and have them check that the connection is performing the way it is supposed to. Another possibility is like what blizzard had with comcast users not being able to connect properly to their games. If I remember correctly it was an issue on the comcast side of the connection.

Unless you can rule out all the possibilities from your end first there is no point trying to force them to fix it since they won't be able to fix issues with your machine, connection or ISP only their end of things. Try taking your machine that you play on to a friend's place or some where you can borrow another connection, if you are running wireless try plugging directly in to the Modem/router see if that helps. Always better to try everything on your end before putting the blame on others. If you have tried all that I have mentioned then the next step is the game devs that you can now give all the info you have acquired to them so that they can look for the issue. There is no way that you can expect them to get all the info to do with your machine and connection if you don't provide it. They may be able to get the basics but not what may be causing the issue.

This all well and good but we need a lag fix ASAP game unplayable!!! really unplayable

I already have a fix for this I took sto/arc off the toolbar and no longer is in the start up of my machine. So technically if I don't log in I am a happy customer that has no lag problems. Then if I feel the need to play I can just do a power point slide show of all the ships in the game and run thru them really fast and then I got what I needed out of STO :D

For the lag issue, I run the client in Windows 8.1 Pro and the lag issues got a lot worse when the expansion hit holodeck. I'm running and older Sandy Bridge 3.4Ghz quad but it's more than enough for STO. 8GB RAM. GTX 700 2GB DDR5 gpu and I had to lower the settings to ease up the fps stalls that started back up when this hit Holodeck.

As for our missing items...I have experienced items vanishing out of my bank/inventory/equipped slots for years. Mostly it was the discontinued MACO and Omega space sets that suddenly vanished. And I got the same response as what this guy is saying...

And with this not new, but obviously much larger, enhanced bug affecting so many players, now at 10 days with no fix...I am beginning to wonder if this response is what we should expect from Cryptic

    http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=846951

Cause if so, I may just have to be done for good (and I would suggest everyone else re-evaluate as well)

The Iconian is no longer missing from the ending cutscene of "Surface Tension."

Yes, but considering you made M'Tara float by default now, it causes several problems with her animations and the camera angles (like focusing on her crotch, instead of her head).

Well hey, thanks guys for NOT giving clarification about the Borg Red Alerts before going live! I'll tell you what though: If I warp to a Red Alert only to find I ran halfway across the sector just to find out I[m on some sort of punitive "Cooldown", I'm sending you folks some TRIBBLE cookies. :(

Also, I smell ANOTHER XP nerf incoming, simply because of the "deafening silence". jhenig coulda added clarification to the Borg RAs since he clearly read the thread but chose not to.

What about the freighters in sector space? No trade ships any more?

    YES

This is a question that most definitely needs an answer. Especially since there are some commodities that were "exported" (if you will) from Memory Alpha (which had a Commodities Vendor, like the one on ESD & other starbases and Andoria & Vulcan) and since MA no longer exists, no Commodities Vendor for Antigens, Weather Controllers (?), Water Purification Systems (?) & a few other commodities as well. :(:(

    That's false.

    1. Memory Alpha was moved to the northeast area of the Alpha quadrant. I don't recall what sector block but I think it's near the north edge of the quadrant on the far east side. Season 9.5 simply removed access to the map so it's just a system in sector space that you can't enter.

    2. Actually it was Antigens, Astrometric Probes, and Weather Control Systems you could buy at Memory Alpha. All of these can be purchased from commodity brokers at Starbase 39 (Fed) and Ganalda Station (KDF).

    http://sto.gamepedia.com/Antigens
    http://sto.gamepedia.com/Astrometric_Probes

    3. The only thing special about the commodity broker on Memory Alpha was that the vendor sold these specific commodities for less than other vendors. (But it would be nice if we could get a broker that sold them at the reduced price somewhere in the game)

    4. You can get all commodities like these from clicking the Replicator button in the inventory window, albeit at a higher price than a vendor.

    5. As you can see, it's not impossible to get any commodities. (You can actually get any type of random commodity from duty officer assignments, particularly marauding. I get them all the time)

Thank-you:) And by the way, You Rock!!!:D

As for #1; I do understand this, but MA for all intents & purposes does not/might as well not exist, since it's map can no longer be accessed.

#2, thanks for correcting me; I forgot about Astrometric Probes & thanks for the info on those items now being available at SB 39.

And for the rest, that's what was nice about the Trade/Cargo ships - the reduced (same as Commodity Vendors) price.

Oh well; I guess we will all just have to "physically" go to each Vendor location now to get the "wholesale" price from now on.
