I think the request was more specific than that. I think it was specifically for wall-panel consoles. I saw a lot of those on Brea III yesterday.

BTW.... I would love to have that map in Foundry too. :D

    Blank Ground and Interior Maps!!!!!!

    Suns

Would also like "ground" textures similar to some of the flooring but instead of carpet or tile something like "sand", "rocky", "dirt" and the like.

Playing a Delta reminded me of all the missing maps that are in game but not in the Foundry, so just adding a lot of the maps already in game

Destructible objects or just destructible invisible boxes.

    Enemy/Friendly versions of all Species

Labeling Lighting effects for backgrounds so its more obvious what makes the map very bright or very dark

I think he means some of the Romulan consoles from Legacy of Romulus we don't have. Like the ones for the exchange & bank at NRC, the Romulan PADDs, any of the Romulan Republic console/Desks, etc.

    As for my requests:

    MAPS:
    • Origin Bridge
    • Virinat (Pre destruction)
    • BLANK GROUND & INTERIOR MAP - As Large as possible
    • DS9 Spacewalk exterior (sans Bird of Prey Wreckage or at least a placeable one)
    • Romulan Standard Interior
    • Romulan Bridge
    • All Three Factions' Shuttle Interiors
    • Voyager Interiors
    • Qo'noS First City

    ASSET REQUESTS:
    • Virinat Assets (ALL of them, preferably, but I would be happy with the buildings and detail assets, this is just an amazing map whose assets could be reused anywhere)
    • Origin Interior Assets
    • Voyager Interior Assets
    • Location Warp Interact (Neverwinter has this in their foundry and it allows people to warp to different parts of maps. Very handy for the Interiors that are disconnected from a Turbolift, maybe pass this off to Zeroniusrex to investigate a port)
    • Dropping from Warp FX - No looping (Same effect used at start of Battle of Korfez and when chasing Zombie Harry Kim)
    • Voyager Interior Rooms (The Transporter room, non-borg cargo bay, Engineering, sickbay and mess hall are generic enough to be really useful as placeable objects for skymap interiors)
    • Romulan and Klingon Transporters
    • Opening and closing Romulan and Klingon Doors
    • Groundscale Bird of Prey (from Doomsday Machine)

    ANIMATION REQUESTS:
    • Looking at PADD (all three factions, the same animation that Linnea is using on ESD)
    • Typing on PADD (same animation used when picking up a PADD on New Romulus)
    • Firing a Phaser (same animation used when welding on New Romulus)
    • Pacing and talking - looping & non-looping (Animation used on Kobali Prime by Alliance officers pacing back and forth talking to recruits)
    • Any Talking variations not in the Foundry presently (that may seem wide but we're really limited on these)

Those date back from launch, however. I would have to go look, but did you guys make any new ones for Legacy of Romulus?

Nope, we made a new Rom LCARS texture set for them, but they use the same geo. So if those are the old ones, we could update them without affecting any maps.

Romulan consoles yes, but no wall consoles. Something like this:
    http://o.aolcdn.com/hss/storage/adam/a02c38b7cf0400b5ea6f33c48c8527ce/ESD%20HEADER.jpg

We got a few for federation, two civil consoles, but nothing for romulan or klingon consoles (for other non player factions there are also none).

This is a thing I'm really missing. It's a problem for nearly every Romulan map I've build so far. Things like starships on ground maps are awesome, no question, and I'm very thankful for your great work here ;)

I think it's the basic stuff like those wall consoles for example, which is needed many times when building a map, while things like starships are a great addition, but useful on fewer maps.

That's why I specifically ask for this basic stuff.

Again, do we have Romulan "wall consoles" in game anywhere? In general, I don't make new assets for the Foundry, just add assets we have already built. If it doesn't exist elsewhere in the game, it is very unlikely it will be made just for the Foundry.

    YES we do.

Here are a few quick examples from Different Locations. You can probably find where they are at each location, but if you need an exact location, let me know taco. :D

Imgur was taking too damn long to upload, so here is a Dropbox Folder.
There is a subfolder for each location that I got them from...

    Rommie Command
    Romulan Flotilla
    Romulan Interior.
    Talshiar Adapted Destroyer Bridge

I'm gonna check to "Agrama" Map from the Epress Sela Mission, cause I think there were some there as well. :)

Please add in the KDF Rebels as available NPCs to shoot at. Whomever had the bright idea to add a single KDF Rebel in a single episode for the Fed faction wanted to make accolade hunters cringe every day at watching that accolade stuck there, and I have no intention of repeating that episode 1000 times.

Okay you have posted this 4 Times in 2 Different Threads... We got it... We already have them as assets...

Just because no one has used them for a Grinder mission is not necessarily our problem, or the Devs.

The Romulan Player Ship interior is a gold mine of potential detail objects. Probably covers almost every Romulan related request I've seen. Wall consoles, holographic desk consoles, pillars, walls, doors, the woiks!

    Here's a gallery: http://imgur.com/gallery/7cD20/new

We know from past comments that Taco imports objects in big groups, so one of the things I want to do with the asset list is, wherever possible, find a single map where we can say "yes, tear into that map and get out all the assets you can like you did with new ESD or New Romulus" and in doing so fulfill multiple requests. That's not to say I won't put individual objects on the list, but if we can find groups, I think it will be better.

What about the Origin interior kit? (Not the bridge, but the interior used in the tutorial and "City on the Edge of Never".) Wasn't it stated in a dev art blog that they designed it to be modular so that it could be easy for the dev team to use when making maps? Hopefully that means it would be easier to port it to the Foundry than assets from a baked map that needs to be systematically cut apart.

Those pieces would be absolutely invaluable. (And help me be able to finish my missions without repeatedly getting burnt out on environment work...)

Um...has the #1 requested item from the last poll even been added yet? I don't remember seeing it last time I was in the foundry, although I admit I might have missed it. If not, how about we get that before having a new poll?

But as far as suggestions go, mine are the same as last time: New Romulus Command, maps, etc. Also, we really need to make the big door that goes into NR Command(behind the Spock statue) a foundry door so people can send players there to start their missions. It's pretty insane when cave doors on NR are foundry doors but the actual command building is not.

    I know that ;)
Usually I try only to ask for things when I'm sure they are ingame. So the only thing on my wishlist I'm not quite sure we have it in STO is the Romulan wall enblem (maybe on New Romulus Command?)

And thanks to lorne12 and primar13 for screenshots. Maybe the Romulan ship interior is a good place to start for this, there are also some other things from my wishlist (opening doors, walls for example) as well as more special details which could be nice to have.

Last time I was on Brea I saw small wall panels attached to the buildings there. These use the same skin as some of the small floor console, but mounted on a wall panel Hmm.... *looks through screenshots*

Didn't make a shot of that. But I found this stuff:
A Romulan themed wall panel from "Friend of my Enemy".
Parts of the Warbird interior Granted, this room has a lot of cool props, not JUST wall panels, but... one thing at a time I guess? I would LOVE to have the floating green molecule hologram, and the desk panels too.
Here's a shot of interesting consoles in "Project Nightingale". I'm not sure they're different than the Fed ones. I know they're the same shape, but I'm not sure about the color scheme and skin.
Here we have a Romulan bridge as seen through a Federation viewscreen.

The reason to do a new poll is that the old poll is old.

In the time since we did that poll, many new things have been added to the game. Things have been crossed off the list, more assets than maps to be sure. We also know more about the process then we did when those first polls were created. And when we did those polls, we did not yet have Taco putting in great groups of assets. It was far more pie in the sky then than it is now. We should find out if the community's priorities have shifted, and should let new authors who have joined since that poll have their say.

Everyone should keep in mind that this is a player-run poll voted on by players. None of this is ever guaranteed to be acted upon. Cryptic still doesn't schedule much time for the Foundry, so we rely on the generosity of Taco and Zero and any comrades they might rope in. They may look at the results of our poll and say "I could do #1, but it would take me a lot longer than #2, and I'm short of time, so I'll do #2." These results can only ever be suggestions.

All valid points. However those points will all pretty much apply to the results of this new poll, unless you plan to have a very short voting period. New assets will have come out in game between the time the poll starts and the results are actually finalized, and new authors will have joined or come back to the game and not have gotten a chance to vote. So do you want to have constant polls that replace the last ones for those reasons, or focus on the results you already have?

I think we all (on the foundry boards anyway) understand and appreciate the devs who help us out in their free time. My only hope is that if they use our suggestions at all, they will look at what the community wants the most and work on that. Sure, it might take longer than some of the things we don't want as much, but that's fine. As you said, this is pretty much a spare time project for them, so I don't think anyone is putting some kind of a deadline on anything. All I'm saying is can we not completely forget about the #1 most requested thing?

If it hasn't already been suggested, the Talaxian Asteroid base interior.

If possible both a 'just as is' version, and a 'cleaned' version with all the miscellaneous cargo pallets and talaxian freighters removed (except the 'cargo' on the internal rail system).

Opening KVS- and Romulan Doors (with matching walls) like on Qo'noS first City and New Romulus Command / Romulan Fleet would be nice, too.

And of course the stuff/maps from the re-designed Fed-Missions (Klingon war storyline), die Security-Lasers from the Cardassion Storyline and the consoles, walls, doors, forcefields from Facility 4028.

Oh, and gras-/sandareas for custom outdoor maps (so we could fill craters/seas in the ground). Like the big free areas on the maps we have.

Aaaand (now I'm crazy, I know) an complete empty outdoor maps (no geography, ground, etc.) like the outside of the interior-maps, so we can build ship-interiors without take them on a high from 600 or more to take sure, the players don't see the ground (and it would make better minimaps...)

And the possiblity to move objects and a teleport-function (both are ingame on the first mission on the talaxian station, it should be possible)

Updates for you guys. Please check the two links in the OP. I've been working through all the requests here. the Map list is up to date as of this post. I'm a little behind on the assets list, only got to about page 4 of this thread so far.

Take a look and see if you see missing items (keeping in mind the asset one isn't up to date) or duplicates.

I've also noted a few entries on the asset list for which I'll need examples, if you guys can help with that.

    Walls walls walls. And walls.

Totally agree, we need many more walls. Cause of this, I took some time and made screenshots of walls I'd like to have.

First of all, the red alert walls which are a high priority on my walls wishlist.

I found two of them on the starbase 157 map from the klingon episode "keep your enemies closer".
First one, similar to the federation wall we already have but in red alert (so very usefull when building 2 versions of a map at different times in a storyline):

    http://pre08.deviantart.net/c7ef/th/pre/i/2015/119/7/0/screenshot_2015_04_29_13_22_31_by_mic_86-d8rhues.jpg

And the second one, in my opinion even better looking red alert wall:

    http://pre01.deviantart.net/3927/th/pre/i/2015/119/1/a/screenshot_2015_04_29_13_23_29_by_mic_86-d8rhugf.jpg

Also for different timed map versions this wall from federation ship interior would be nice according to the second red alert wall:
    http://pre00.deviantart.net/56e0/th/pre/i/2015/119/2/d/screenshot_2015_04_29_13_31_06_by_mic_86-d8rhuj4.jpg

A few things I want to say to those red alert walls additionally:
    1. The red alert sound effect as a seperatly placeable object would be nice
    2. I know there are slightly various versions of this walls with a more combat damaged/dirty texture, I would prefer the clean ones I've shown above (easier to let the map look damaged than to make the damaged things look clean)
    3. Lower priority than the walls, usefull addition would be the red alert consoles whith those red lcars textures (I think they're on the saratoga map which is already available in foundry)

More interesting walls on my wishlist:

From the intrepid interior map: http://pre08.deviantart.net/8322/th/pre/i/2015/119/4/0/screenshot_2015_04_29_14_17_48_by_mic_86-d8rhux0.jpg

From the Treasure Trading Station map, a nice one for civil interiors:
    http://pre07.deviantart.net/a716/th/pre/i/2015/119/f/1/screenshot_2015_04_29_13_39_00_by_mic_86-d8rhukp.jpg

A Klingon one from First City:
    http://pre04.deviantart.net/0fd6/th/pre/i/2015/119/8/c/screenshot_2015_04_29_14_06_15_by_mic_86-d8rhuu0.jpg

And this from the Romulan ship interior:
    http://pre14.deviantart.net/0864/th/pre/i/2015/119/b/8/screenshot_2015_04_29_13_55_38_by_mic_86-d8rhury.jpg

These two from the Romulan Fleet map:
    http://pre02.deviantart.net/33de/th/pre/i/2015/119/c/c/screenshot_2015_04_29_13_44_20_by_mic_86-d8rhunq.jpg
    http://pre06.deviantart.net/d7a6/th/pre/i/2015/119/0/5/screenshot_2015_04_29_13_41_01_by_mic_86-d8rhuls.jpg

This one, don't remember the mapname:
    http://pre12.deviantart.net/b531/th/pre/i/2015/119/b/a/screenshot_2014_11_27_23_17_53_by_mic_86-d8rhvqi.jpg

And this one from ESD, not as basic for map building as the others, but my brain is thinking crazy thoughts when I see it:
    http://pre00.deviantart.net/9cf0/th/pre/i/2015/119/5/a/screenshot_2015_04_29_14_26_16_by_mic_86-d8rhv07.jpg

That's it for the walls so far (sure there are more nice walls).

Additionally, some things I've mentioned in previous posts or seen while I've taken those screenshots:

The Romulan faction enblem, found on the Romulan ship interior map:

Just a note, the Dyson Sphere in "Uneasy Allies" is not the Herald Sphere. We don't know what it's called yet (the wiki calls it the Andromeda Dyson Sphere) but the Herald Sphere is the one Miral discovers in "Delta Flight".

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."
