so I've made a choice if I want to keep it or not and I've decieded to delete it as it is too much work to get all the repsystem done for my delta toon and it was even tougher to get it to level 60 as well plus everyone is focusing on there iconian repsystem. While I have been struggling to get the elite marks for him. So I've made my decesion to delete it and just focus on my older toons who have completed all the rep systems and have high level gear and stuff also managed to get the delta rewards for all of my older toons as well befor he got deleted
any way it was fun playing it for a while and the side story was cool.
With all of my alts, I make a decision to keep things simple: only the first two tiers of any reputation, no grinding for top-level stuff (which usually means I play through the game with the Jem'Hadar or, laterally, the Solanae, set) and only playing the episodic missions. I deleted my old Romulan character, so it was a chance to make a new one, and I quite like how she's turned out, and it gave me the opportunity really properly have a go at Science as a specialisation.
I still have mine even though I hadn't played it since the first week. However I will keep her around for banking use for now. Until I get a chance to play again. I wasn't planing on doing all the Reps with her. Just keeping a low profile on her gear and go from that. So I wouldn't have to spend too much time and resources on her. Only thing I was really going for was the Andorian Weaponry from the Dil store. Since I was planning on her being in the Andorian ship as her only ship. It was mainly for RPing Theme type character.

Kept mine.. with JUST the bonus boxes I am T4 all rep... I have to fly 1 CC for nukara to hit 4... I will occasional fly her to get T5 reps and payouts... little to no effort massive payout..
Honestly I still have mine, I just hit tier IV rep (via just a couple of STF's, the bonuses from completing Delta stuff and sponsorship), on all but Iconian rep.
I've gotten a couple of fleet weapons/consoles, rep minor consoles/weapons and upgraded them (thanks to my other toons) and he is nowhere near complete, but I have achieved what I have in a relatively short period of time and with (aside from the story grind) relatively little effort.
He is at "Mindscape" in the story and level 58.5, I see a good future for him and I am happy with my progress thus far given that my gametime has been somewhat limited of late.
"If this will be our end, then I will have them make SUCH an end as to be worthy of rememberance! Out of torpedos you say?! Find me the ferengi!".
I got my main toon to sponsor my Delta Recruit in all of the reputations so it took no time at all to finish them. All that dilithium earned after Tier 5 will go towards Zen purchases for my main so it's a nice quid pro quo.
Even if you want to delete your Delta Recruit, you should at least wait until after the recruitment event ends to take advantage of the dilithium/kill bonus. As Quark said, "Waste not; want not."
After only 4 months, 19 weeks, 134 days, it's here. It's real!
Just ended with the fire caves this is my third delta toon and for now my last... other two were klingon toons but thanks to the devs couldn't continue the story for them stopped with the undine because Kuda system was gone....
But you make a nice profit as Delta toon I must say...

"Coffee: the finest organic suspension ever devised. It's got me through the worst of the last three years. I beat the Borg with it."
mine is part way through the delta quadrant, nearly level 58, virtually certain to run into the level barrier before the end with such little in the way of xp out this far. anyway, most of the past 4 weeks has been empty from gameplay, i have 2 other dr toons but im not likely to see then get past the early stages for now as im just not interested in grinding my way up the ranks. once was enough and cryptic are lucky they got that off me :P.
to answer the point, i still have mine, reasonably well armed, not in a fleet excelsior or carrying the plasmonic, but otherwise, fairly ready for it. hes carry up the rep stuff as well, rep 2 on everything except the new iconian rep and delta rep which i have not completed on my main yet.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Geez... I was fortunate enough to have all pre-exisitng reps complteted on my mains before my Delt Recruit was created, so I was able to get the sponsorship. With the FREE marks that came with the DR I am T4 in all reps save the new Iconian one without acturally having to do any work at all!
The easist of all to get are the Omega and Romulan reps. Just do the Borg and Tholian red alerts. Delta rep, do the patrols or run the Kobali gorund. Im fact, you can earn decent Iconian rep marks AND the spheres by running the Kobali ground "Breaking the Wall".
So no, getting a Delta Toon through the rep system is easy as pie - as long as you can grant them a sponsorship.
I still have mine. 3 in fact.
Delta Fed is at level 54 and still stuck on New Romulus because the story is gated behind Romulan rep.
I will continuing to play her as a Constitution Captain, having completed all story content with the Connie starter ship. The goal is to max out the ship's capabilities.
Delta KDF i will keep as my main KDF, not that that means much. Currently level 43 or so.
Delta Rom is parked at level 10. only need her to complete the Delta Account unlocks eventually.
I have completed all 44 objectives with her, I have all reps going, (except Iconian rep) and she just hit level 56. I plan on keeping her, I am having a lot of fun running around Qonos with the Ugliest Orion Female screaming, "give me some sugar!!"
I'm not a big alt guy. Never have been. I'm keeping it because it's the only alt I have currently at 50. The only reason I did it was to unlock everything for my main. I hope Cryptic doesn't make me play my alt to get traits for my main...not a big fan of that. Just like playing my Fed main

Honestly probably not the best decision to delete it as the above posters said....nice payouts, added bank space, etc etc...Mine is at 50 and about to finish romulus..I am not even going to do rep with him and when I hit 50 I had enough dil, and fleet marks to turn in and get 3 fleet neut mk x and 3 fleet plasma infused emitters mkx. Not even going to bother with locators because the crafted phaser consoles are UR and Epic. Gonna eventually get the Numiri Shield and Prototype Gravitic engines to MK XII VR and leave him as a farmer for Fed FA, CC and farming foundry missions.
I will also get a Klink and Rom through the tutorial before the event ends so I can run them too at my own pace. The only requirement to keep them as Delta Recruits is they have to be through the tutorial and have the tesseract before the event ends.
Delta Recruits exist for one reason, and one reason ONLY, which is to generate those account rewards. After that is complete, and the rewards are collected, the Deltas serve no purpose, and are better off to just be airlocked.
Eh. Made two, one Fed, one KDF. Need to make a Romulan. Once I'm done having fun with my old Fed Main and the Iconian stuff, then I'll get back to them. I got all the time in the world.
Yeah, thanks to sponsorship, the Reps are quite manageable now for alts, imo. The only issue I'm having is the same issue I always have with alts. Getting Fleet credit.
All this time later and I still don't know why the payout for every contribution is so TRIBBLE-poor. Everything except Fleet marks, that is. Filling the Fleet marks is still like winning the lottery.
I am taking my time with my KDF Delta Recruit. I am currently in the Cardassian story arc, I believe the last mission I completed was the New Link (or something like that). I have been taking it easy lately only doing one mission every other day.
I started doing the STFs to collect random marks. No real plan, just playing and collecting for now. I would like to play Undine Infiltration Advanced, but like most other queues it is pretty much dead.
I will not delete this toon, but I do not know how far I want to take it as well. I may or may not have this toon participate in the upcoming 2015 Risa Summer Event depending what ship is available. So... yeah... up in the air...
so I've made a choice if I want to keep it or not and I've decieded to delete it as it is too much work to get all the repsystem done for my delta toon and it was even tougher to get it to level 60 as well plus everyone is focusing on there iconian repsystem. any way it was fun playing it for a while and the side story was cool.
personally I think you are making a BIG mistake, baring the new iconian rep and assuming you have done the reputation sponsorship thing you should have picked up enough marks to get most of your other reps up to at least part way through tier 4 after that you could have just waited for the summer event and did the bird raising thing to get the marks you need to finish up.
even without the new iconian rep that I can understand not bothering with that's 50k dilithium for each rep completed so for the 6 older reps it would have paid 300k dil total, once refined to be passed through the exchange to your main.
even if you never do anything else with your delta its got to be worth it to do that.
forget worrying over lv60 and forget elite marks just level up to tier 5 on the older reps and reap the rewards.
having said that by the time my delta had finished the story missions to complete the event rewards he was up to level 55, that was a week ago and hes now up to level 58 just from doing daily doff missions so its not going to be hard to level to 60 and hes still earning dil and ec to pass to my main.
I doubt I will do much with him now other then farm doff missions for my main though.
my guess is by the winter events they will add iconian rep to raising winter epohh so I will probably get that with him as well then, another 50k dil ka-ching.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
I now have 5 characters (or toons, if you prefer, though I hate that term), and my newest alt is a female Delta Recruit named Jevonna. I get to be a science officer all over again (my Fed main is a science career officer), and I got to choose the OTHER faction on my DR.
I will definitely be keeping her, as I am looking forward to the summer event. I just resubscribed my gold sub, and I am not too thrilled with the look of some of these new Command ships. Oh well, here's hoping the Risa event will give us something to look forward to.:o
My Delta Character has become my main... if I hadn't already leveld my Engineer to 15 in all R&D schools and NOT wanting to go through that agian, I probably wouldn't even log on with them other than to farm...
so I've made a choice if I want to keep it or not and I've decieded to delete it as it is too much work to get all the repsystem done for my delta toon and it was even tougher to get it to level 60 as well plus everyone is focusing on there iconian repsystem.
Delta toon hard to get to level 60?
No, thanks to bonus SP week I arrived the last Breen episode as lvl 54. I played a dozen SB24 for ship mastery unlocks and never hit level wall during the running of the remaining episodes and patrols. Was easy peasy.
To much work for reputs?
Lol nope, on the contrary! Thanks to the recruitment reward bonus (250 marks of each kind) as well as multiple choice marks there were only a few normal pve or so to run to get 600 marks of each kind for the reputs to start with sponsorship tokens. I grabbed my 32k dil times 5 rewards for tier 5 reps yesterday.
If you deleted your Delta Recruit, your choice. Could be that if Cryptic keepson making more of these events I end up with too many toons so Id delete as well. But under consideration of the conditions and the free gear handed out during episodes (which is more than enough for normal pve) I will delete recruits after reputs and not b4.

I only have one serious Delta a KDF science, the rest are resource and fun toons. I won't be doing rep on those and they all will probably be deleted after level 50. I plan to fill up my free character spots before the event finishes up in mid-late May.
I might keep one or two more if I like the characters, but really this late in the game it's not really worth putting a heap of work into them. Now if I could merge an existing character with a delta I would jump at it. Would mean all my work wasn't wasted on older characters. Plus would give me the chance to turn my first character into a science finally....

The Delta Recruit program was a decent deal. The extra giveaways made leveling them quite easy - most were 54 before the Defera episodes.
What stood out for me was the twinking. And I hate that word. I retried everything. Cannons, beam boats, torpedo boats. Energy flavours of all types. And had a lot of fun doing it. For me - with 11 alts - crafting gear is worth all the pain. If I were a new player, crafting would suck.
Crafting for new players is a waste of time. And if you're casual (2x a week) - 2 years to get what you want seems a little long term. I've had marriages that lasted less.
Like the OP I don't see the need for all of the rep systems. My new alts have a plan, and a goal for gear. I'll only develop what I need. No need to build everything. Again. For the 9th, 10th and 11th time. Plus the incremental DPS increases, and survivability - theres no point to getting 5 reputations when they don't add squat to the enjoyment of the game.
As for enjoyment of the game. I have one thing to say:
No, thanks to bonus SP week I arrived the last Breen episode as lvl 54. I played fife SB24 for ship mastery unlocks and never hit level wall during the running of the remaining episodes and patrols. Was easy peasy.

Ah, a voice of reason!
I have no idea what the OP is talking about when he mentions it being hard to get to 60. Even without the XP week, a new character starting at level 1 has absolutely no problem getting to 60 just through story missions alone. Everyone remembers it being difficult because when DR dropped everyone was already level 50 and started the Delta Arc at level 50. Heck, with the Skill Point week, I was level 60 by the time I was halfway through the Cardassian story Arc. My DR has been 60 for quite some time.
Add to that the bonus Dilithium, the extra mark rewards and being sponsored in Reputation Projects by my Main and he's skyrocketed up. The only thing that's still going to take a long time is the DoFF schools because that just takes forever. Still, we even get a bonus week for DoFF XP so it's not nearly as bad as normal.
Personally, I'm keeping my DR. I had a non DR Engineer that I hardly ever play, I deleted her and gave all her stuff to my DR. It gives me something to do when not playing my main guy. Yes, it's still a climb, but it's a lot more manageable for a Delta Recruit then it would be for a totally new character made after the Recruiting event.
I have consciously avoided grinding or spending on my Delta Recruit - I used Doffing to get to L50 by the middle of the second week (from the end of the KDF Spectres arc), shipped across a bunch of account-bound gear and went from there.
However, I have to admit that while I originally intended to delete the alt on completion, I can't help but wonder if Cryptic will do something with Delta Recruits in the future. Call me paranoid but since I've got nothing else to do with the slot, might as well keep them around as a contraband farmer.
Im keeping my last delta toon (rom/tac) already deleted tac/fed and empty all out from my tac/kdf.
My rom/tac have done all reps but iconian (is doing it but it will take some time to finish it). 15 spec. points in pilot and
2 points in intel (going to fill intel).
