Don't worry OP when Season 10.5 is release it will be the worst season ever.
However, that is going to be superseded by Season 11 when it is released... And again when Season 11.5 is released. And so on and so forth....
Just be ready to re-create this same topic when those seasons are released.
Thank you. Everything on these forums is "the worst thing since (the last thing)." DR was the worst expansion since LoR, S10 is now the worst thing since S9. Calm down people, S10 has actually been pretty good so far in my opinion. And it seemed like I was the only person who liked DR.
Your father was captain of a starship for twelve minutes. He saved 800 lives, including your mother's, and yours.
Yer, I've been here since F2P and I can tell you that this, is not the worse season ever... sure it has had a bad launch week, but it is by far not the worse season ever...
Iv been Playing STO for aobut little over a year not and I have to say the ending of Season 9 and the start of Season 10 is the worst ever. I have never and I mean never had this many problems ever before. If you name the problem I have problely had it. The most reacent problem was Battle group Omagea problem could not find the jump gate to get there I went to where it was sopose to be on my Map adn guess what no gate. I can not even go on in the story line with out going to that battle group So I am stuck. This Season which I very much have been waitting for has turned out to be a big and I mean Big disappointment. Every turn problems nothing but problems. There are so many problems that is tures people off playing STO because it not worth the stress. And here I thought this War was going to be a good Season guess I was wrong.
You dont know anything about a bad season yet. You really dont. You werent here for the Season prior to F2P. So you can pipe down now.
But Delta Rising was such a good launch and look at how many people "loved" that.
Some of the trouble may just be people returning to the game with a piqued interest which is never bad, but Cryptic can only estimate so far out as to how much capacity they need to have.
Their are always bugs with a season launch in STO, that's a more accurate statement.
I see this in zone chat all the time, name me one game that doesn't have this many bugs, "all" mmo's have this many bugs, coding is the hardest job ever in the whole wide world cut them a break.
If you don't sub you cant complain, if you pay them money it's your own fault.
I have been gaming for over 35 years now, and sadly this new status quo for gaming quality has brought players to this destination.
Most players spouting the drivel I typed above have never actually played a well coded relatively bug free MMO, so they are clueless and just spout hot air.
Games have seriously declined in quality as a general result.
This is the "only" beef I have with STO, I have gotten my money back on my LTS, the ship(s) I purchased from the C-store were indeed my own decision.
However when I pay for something, or invest into something I "expect it to work", if it doesn't, someone is dropping the ball on quality.
Supposedly developers, coders, go to school for this stuff, just like I went to school for my trade, people expect me to know how to do my job right, or they call someone else.
Then, now, it's just as unacceptable one way or another.
You're right about the status quo for quality.
If its not instant gratification, its "horrible, the worst ever"
Any "season" is going to have bugs, and expansion will as well. Trust me, after 10 years of WoW, and years of Everquest before that, its unavoidable. What might look good on paper and in code might be a total cluster after its been created. 1 little blurb in one little spot will ripple throughout the whole thing.
Personally I loved all of Star Trek, from the old TV series thru to the new movies. Love the game as well as being part of it. Who cares if its not canon or their are bugs. I play for the enjoyment, watch the movies/shows for the same. letting yourself get so uptight and wound up about it just ruins if for yourself.
Just sit back and enjoy the ride, and have SOME patience for cripes sake people.
I have to say that season 10 launch is considerably smoother than Delta Recruit, the anniversary event, and Delta Rising. So far, there have been no disconnects, horrible lag, or tray issues that plagued those recent events. It's actually been running smoothly, at least for me. I'm pretty surprised.
so.. typical cryptic quality then, another satisfied customer it seems.
for me ive been around since the end of 2010, ive seen a number of seasons, i never liked the crossfire season, i still dont like the crossfire season. that counts up there as a bad apple, but it isnt a rotten apple like season 8, now that was a disaster site as far as i am concerned, i mean, dinosaurs with lasers on their heads? what is this, trek online or jurassic park online?
Iv been Playing STO for aobut little over a year....
...as I wondered - wow - so yeah - hrmm...

...a little over a year - so here for S9 and S10; but S10's the "Worst Season Ever" per the thread title.
And I'm left to wonder how this thread has gone this many pages deep and simply hasn't been closed yet as a lolwut...
From what I see, Season 10 is one of the better ones. Specially with sector space got revamp.
...I'd have to disagree. The Sector Space revamp...imho...should have been a S10.5 thing, like R&D was a S9.5 thing and not the S9 thing. The Sector Space revamp has nothing to do with S10...it's just a thing. Some folks like it some folks don't...but with it being the 'big thing' for S10...makes S10 look kind of crappy.
If its not instant gratification, its "horrible, the worst ever"

I have played two MMO's, admittedly both p2p over the last 13 yrs published by the same company (who shall remain unnamed) that have had "3" bugs worth noticing in them "both combined".
Of those 3 bugs, 3 of them were in the "first" mmo, the second at almost 2 yrs old now has been as far as I know literally bug free.
It can be done, it is not "iiineeevitable", p2p, ftp, when you publish/sell consumers a product it should function.
This mentality that all games are flawed and by nature "must be" has slowly creeped it's way into gamers heads.
And so, here we are.
I do not mind paying for something, I do not mind the occasional lag or non-showstoping bug, I do mind when a ship I bought is utterly broke for months, it's "not" free, I "paid" for it.
Worst season ever? I'd say so far it's pretty forgettable, but I wouldn't call any part of it bad. Also the sector space revamp is definitely a welcome change.
I personally still think DR was the worst season/expansion. It really messed up the game and a lot of the problems it caused have yet to be addressed in any meaningful way.

Heh... heheh.... hahaha....
....
Wait, you're serious?
FAR from the worst... although I do have to amdit, I'd like to autonav to a destinaiton and actually REACH it, rather than have my engine scut out just so I have to nudget .05 ly just to trigger the popup... other than that I have had no 'real' issues....
The reason both of those MMO's are unnamed is because there isn't a real MMO out there that has only had 3 bugs or is bug free. :P Nice try.
While it's true that all games have bugs I can honestly say I've never played any other mmo, in my life, with as many bugs as this game has. There are just so many and they linger on forever.

I have. I loved Star Wars Galaxies when I was on it from 2003 until some controversial changes in 2005. I loved that game to death but it was notoriously buggy with far too many Launch Era bugs even when I left in '05. No amount of nostalgia, fondness of my most favorite MMORPG to this day could hide the fact how buggy it was.

Have you played any MMO as intensely and long as you have played Star Trek Online?
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
Game has become unplayable. Everything lags and I can hardly move around with an fps of 10. Everything worked fine before s10. What did you do cryptic????
I cant say its the worst season ever, but what I can say is how can you release a season with so many bugs, "Some" that were reported on tribble server before launch. That is dumb at its best
I agree with worst season ever as bugs have permeated every section of the game. The bank/exchange bug being one of the biggest. Its an annoying bug also one of the worst that affects a large majority of the player base. Nothing they have ever released has screwed with personal assets that much, things not working maybe but killing general storage slots that's a big mess up. I would guess someone missed a parent class on the objects and forgot to import it.
I will give the kudos on finally making it possible for casual players to get the rep gear and other improvements that are great to have without the hell of wasting hours for success in STFs with PUGs. It just turned into a lesser grind with a comparable reward at the end. It shows that Cryptic is listening to our concerns in some areas.
This season is a disappointment, there's no doubt about that. Two of the queues on advanced are bugged and randomly fail 3/4 of the way through. The best way to gain Iconian rep marks is through Delta Rising queues. Meanwhile the queues themselves are still nearly empty. Sector space is empty due to instancing. I thought the point was to get everyone into one big shared map, but obviously not. Two featured episodes that don't offer much to satisfy in terms of storyline or rewards, and yet another trek actor (probably literally) phoning in his performance. To cap it off, we have a new enemy that's not even a challenge to shoot down compared to the Vaadwaur, the Undine, the Voth or the Borg.
This season is okay. I didn't quite like season five because I wasn't then and am not now happy that the game went free to play. But meh, I mean, there wasn't too much content back in those days so now with every season I think yeah there are bugs, but, the game is growing. I think that's the most important thing. If they didn't release anything new that would be a bigger disappointment.
Take it as it comes, bird by bird.

Not like the release of Delta Rising....
Or, playing Devil's Advocate, they have a proper Beta Testing team constantly on bug hunts...
But I think you're right.

Season 10 is floating Wizards with magical wands and assorted Dungeon-Dweller minions
Yes I've played quite a few. Diablo, guild wars 1 and 2, star wars, rift, eso ...etc.
Max
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Yea and you know what, I like it!
Looking for a fun PvE fleet? Join us at Omega Combat Division today.
You know well why I didn't name them, and your wrong, and this is the mentality I was talking about.
I have been around this game as long or longer than you have, cant help they changed the sigs, posting #s etc.
We both know or at least I do that PWE/Cryptic isn't fond of named comparisons, nothing new to see here.
This is what people have come to expect as a quality basis in MMO's today, yourself included I guess.
I stand by the statement, have fun figuring out the game(s), and the publisher, I wont take the bait, they remain unnamed.
The second game is in "fact" at this moment "free" of any bug stature whatsoever that effects gameplay that anyone new gamer or veteran would notice.
It is an MMO.
Thanks for the nice try accolade, it isn't necessary, my statement is fact.
Believe me or don't, I couldn't care less.
