They added a free T5 to T5U upgrade to the veterancy rewards.

I expect they'll add more to the veterancy rewards.

    And T5U is worthless...

T6 ship will always be better due to the ship trait and specialize bridge slots.

    My Scimitar disagrees?

The better T5 ships are still excellent at T5-U, compared to some of the T6s.

    T6 is not always better.

    It's a new 800 day veterancy reward.

It's free, and it turns a tier-5 ship into a far superior t-5 ship for anyone not ready to buy a tier-6 ship yet.

Where did this duality come from where, unless something is the absolute best, it's completely worthless? There is a middle ground where something is a useful stepping stone to better things.

Welcome to MMOs. Even if it's only 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000001% worse than the best, it's trash.

T5u ships get 4 ship traits.

My t5u ship will beat your t6 ship for sure.

you can have 4 traits active sure, but you cannot EARN a ship trait via piloting a T5-U (or a T6-Fleet for that matter)

No but many T 6 ship traits are rubbish and you waste getting a ship based just on the trait.

You can fly a T5u with its mastery then pick and choose the ship traits you want. . .

Yes they are and most likely always standard boff layout but I don't and many I'm sure go for Intel powers etc on skills.

So T5u is still end game ships .

But your right vet rewards for the most part aren't worth the money.

That said some! Are so swings and round about

My Fleet Tempest begs to differ... you know what, no it doesn't really, it's too busy killing EVERYTHING which wanders into weapons range.

I find this hilarious. You imply that the devs have just now stopped giving out rewards. The rewards have been 'stopped' at 1000 days for a long time now.

Yeah. 1,000 days is about 33.3 months. We are now in month 62. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Plus they have added several things to the rewards since they stopped at 1000. New uniforms, factional env suits, upgrade tokens, I think there was one other as well. They stopped at 1000 days, but they didn't stop adding things to the program.

Compared to other vet programs in other games, it's really not bad. EQ1/2 have a lot more, but to be honest most of the stuff they gave was TRIBBLE until the last couple of 1-year ones.

Chances are that the OP just reached 1000 days.

The devs have given a few veteran rewards after the 1000 day veteran reward like the Combat EV suits. Any veteran reward past 1000 days is just another lifer perk that every lifer will get automatically. There are very few non-lifers that would qualify veteran rewards past 1000 days so Cryptic can only add future veteran rewards to the current veteran rewards or completely change how veteran rewards are done like a Veteran or Loyalty Store.

A loyalty store would be cool. Some exclusive stuff only available to buy if you have vet status would be a nice perk. That said, devoting expensive art time to something that is purposely limited in possible sales is probably not a smart business model.

The only advantage of T6 ships is learning Mastery Captain Skills. That is learning, not using them.

The only difference between Fleet T5U ships and Fleet T6 ships is Specialization seating, which is not the end all and be all of the game.

T6 ships are not inherently better, they just help make any ship you own potentially better with their mastery traits.

So stopping at 1000 makes it all worthless now? Interesting viewpoint

Honestly I am a vet and got what what was advertised.
Cryptic should have mad a new pack every expansion and stopped selling the new one.
Should I start posting again after all this time?

As both an LTS and a literal (more-than-)1000-day vet, I am very happy with the rewards I get. More than enough, IMO.

Mind you, I'd still very much like to see T6 versions of the vet destroyers, as well as more costumes...

The Loyalty Store would require Loyalty Tokens. Loyalty Tokens would be available by 3 tokens for every month subscribed and 1 token for every 500 Zen transferred to STO.

    Completely untrue.

T6 ships tend to have have higher base stats and all have +1 boff power slots over T5U ships.

No. It is a matter of perspective.
There has only been a few good fleet t6 ships. The rest are overtaken by many t5u ships and the t6 traits.
And extra clicky doesn't make a ship

But really, it's not worth their time to update those so I have zero expectations on that score.

and it would be a POS if we limit you to only ONE SRO.

it's OP due to the space traits only.

I always get a kick out of people, who act like they get so little for subscribing, when they knew right off the bat what they would get, than start demanding more and/or acting way to over privileged.

Should more goodies be provided to subs? Sure but, only when they decide to do it, not when we decide it should be done.

If that's true why are all the records held by scimitars and not faehts?

There's a lot more behind the scimitar than just the SRO. And as mentioned, the tempest has beaten the t6 ships for damage records. That's a fed ship, not romulan.
