If that's true why are all the records held by scimitars and not faehts?
There's a lot more behind the scimitar than just the SRO. And as mentioned, the tempest has beaten the t6 ships for damage records. That's a fed ship, not romulan.
Because the Scimitar has 5 forward weapons and the Faeth does not? And the Scimitar is hardly "unique" in having 5 forward weapons, but it is the only such ship that can use SRO boffs.
and it would be a POS if we limit you to only ONE SRO.

Even without SROs the Scimitar would still be OP. No other ship has 5/3 weapons, 5 Tactical Consoles, a Commander Tactical seat, and no wasted 3rd Ensign Tactical seat.
Edit: Oh, and a built in Battle Cloak. As well as Elite Drone hangers, which (prior to DR) parsed at 6k. That's higher than many players.
The only advantage of T6 ships is learning Mastery Captain Skills. That is learning, not using them.
The only difference between Fleet T5U ships and Fleet T6 ships is Specialization seating, which is not the end all and be all of the game.
T6 ships are not inherently better, they just help make any ship you own potentially better with their mastery traits.
The statement that T6 ships "only" advantage is the mastery skills is false.
The statement that the "only" difference between T5U ships and Fleet T6 is specialization seating is also fasle.
The statement that T6 ships are not "inherently better" is again, false, as where applicable they have superior base stats and an extra boff power slot over their T5U counterparts.
T6 ships are more than just a specialization and a starship mastery trait. And even just +1 "clicky" has the potential to radically alter a build.
If I were the devs I'd cook up a T6 vet ship that had hybrid stations of all three specializations, or a new Universal Universal slot that could use any and all boff powers!

I think the other poster is referring to the tier 5 ship traits that only come on tier6 ships not tier 5u.
having said that tier 5 ship traits can be gained in many ways without ever having a tier 6 ship, for example if you rolled a delta in this delta recruit event one of the rewards was a tier 5 ship trait for each of your characters deltas and regulars alike.
the first 4 ship traits can only be used on the ships they are earned on but t5 ship traits can be used on any ship you fly, so any t5 ship traits you gain anywhere in game whether it be on a t6 ship or elsewhere can be used on t5u ships anyway so once you have picked up a few t5 ship traits from wherever they come a t5u is not a lot below a t6 ship anyway.
and if you was wise and got the winter and anniversary ships you should have a couple of t5 ship traits right there that you can use on your t5u`s and with the delta event trait that makes 3 and as you can only slot 4 t5 ship traits anyway you will only need to pick up 1 more and you are pretty covered.
theres a lot of use still in t5u ships.

At least with regards to the original T6s, it's:
T5-U have 11 Consoles, 12 BOff abilities
T6 have 10 Consoles, 13 BOff abilities
T6.5 have 11 consoles, 13 BOff abilities
So the non-Fleet T6s are basically trading off a Console slot for a BOff ability compared to a T5-U, roughly comparable.

"Fleet" T5-U have 11 consoles.
Fleet meaning any of the Fleet ships or C-Store Ships considered Fleet tier. So most of the T5 ships that someone would put money into upgrading.

I keep forgetting there's three different types of T5s.
T5 (40), T5 (50), and T5.5 (Fleet/Lobi/Lockbox).
Mainly because who the hell is dumb enough to spend an upgrade token on a 9-console T5? :P

You can only earn it once anyway. master your precious T-6 ship and then use the trait on your favorite T5-U.
