Will there be any updates after season 10? It feels like they're wrapping up everything to leave us with what we have! I'd like to see a season 11 12 etc. with more Time Travel or Mirror Universe or both! They way the announcement was written, it sounds like there won't be any featured episodes.

I do hope this is a tongue-in-cheek response to an obviously tongue-in-cheek comment.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

This was covered in recent podcasts and twitter comments. Gecko's comments I take with a grain of salt. SalamiInferno's I trust.
@empireofsteve is either trolling you, or he's just evil. Bagdad Ali evil;)
I bet after the Iconian War is over, either the Dominion or the Borg are gonna make some sort of move against the Alpha Quadrant powers, being depleted from their conflict with the super-advanced Iconians.
This is what Im thinking. The Rapier mission indicates the Dominion are still very much interested in the Federation and are preparing for something. The way it was worded seems like another war.
I see what your trying to do here....:Dhttp://youtu.be/zkbZF3y_-Qg
idk.
I'm of the opinion that this Iconian thing is a little premature.
It should have been THE Endgame...before a server reset :P
I still anticipate at least 2 more Factions becoming playable (Borg and Dominion) before development stops and maintenance becomes primary.
I'd say 2017 is going to be a significant year.

When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
They are still staying behind ...
And, as mentioned in another thread, there might be nice content potential in the Tkon story.
Until the Lag kills us all lol
It is obvious this is "it"....no more has been written post season 10. The wiki is silent and the trailer states the "end of a 5 year journey". Servers will finally go in maintenance mode and this mmo has ran its course. The sooner you accept it the better.
Just IMO but everyone else has one.
I hope to be wrong but WHAT else is there?...cardi faction or borgs. They could have done this before but it looks there was a decision post DR to shut it down after season 10 instead of investing more resources into it.
I had been hoping for at least a year real time of Iconian War. But it looks more likely that it will be over on May 21st with maybe one last episode released then that wraps it up. I hope I'm wrong about this and we'll know next week how far the 2 episodes take us, but there is a certain feeling of finality.
Perhaps they just want everyone to focus on the grand conclusion of 5 years of Iconians, but there is certainly a lot of angst everywhere about whether this is it.
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
Just before the PvE'ers revamp to not whine a 1000 times too much.
This is a good point. Who says there necessarily needs to be an enemy all the time? In Star Trek there were natural disasters too that needed to be dealt with. Problems weren't always made by advanced intelligent species. Perhaps the developers could string together a series of rescue operations that require cooperation among the factions to put a solution in place. It doesn't always have to be an enemy and war that forces the factions to act.
I'm inclined to agree with this to some extent because the Iconians are the big bad guys of Star Trek which take an entire galaxy of people to ban together and beat, not just the Alpha/Beta quadrants. The Dominion and all would have to get in on this game given the billing the Iconians have gotten to help push them back.
Part of me feels that the Iconian stuff coming up is either the end or a fight that won't do em justice very much.
This is one of the rare times I wish I was a forum mod here.. I would have locked the thread after this post just to watch people freak out.
And this is why you are not a forum moderator.
Obviously we have plenty more to go, STO is one of PWE's most popular games. The content after season 10 is obviously Risa, with luck Cryptic are currently focusing on remastering the cardassian missions and the much requested renovating DS9, all of which they said they want to do.
I feel as if that was a poor choice of words. I dont think theyre going to rush through the Iconian plot. It would seem really odd that they took five years building up to this only to finish it off with a single season.
Personally I would love to see in game 2 years of war with the Iconians. But we're only 18 months in after 5 years of development. So Im not really sure how theyre going to handle that. Thats another 5 years of development just to sum this whole arc up. And I dont think theyre up for that.
Unfortunately that single word 'conclusion' has given all the doom sayers more than enough ammo to get them through season 10 at the very least.
In the next addon, Andorian are changed to Turian. Kumari becomes a Turian Cruiser. Shon becomes Garrus.
Klingons are changed to Krogan. Worf becomes Wrex. he kicks Martok and takes his role.
The old Romulan Empire becomes the Batarian. While the Romulan Republic becomes everyone's favorite space vagrant, the Quarian. Tiaru Jarok becomes Tali. Stock photos are used for character customization.
The Alliance becomes the Council, S31 the SPECTRE organization, the Federation the Alliance. Ships are changed accordingly.
Orions becomes Asari, which is not a big change, since most Orions ingame are already females, and RPing lesbians. For some reasons.
Gorn and Saurian are merged into one, and changed to Salarians. Stass becomes everyone's favorite doctor and singer (no, not that hologram), Mordin Solus.
Iconians becomes Reapers, but quite frankly, that's not a huge change, just a name change, few art here and there. Voices and dialogues are already there.
Just like ESD becoming the Citadel. The props are already there, just need to change the map.
Elachi becomes the Collectors. Tal Shiar becomes Cerberus.
Borgs becomes the aggressive part of the Geths, while the Cooperative becomes the friendly Geths. Hugh becomes Legion.
And obviously, the Enterprise becomes the Normandy, commanded by Shepard. But then, that's just 1 more Normandy, we already have hundreds of those ingame.
That's not as big as some people may think. For example, for Boldly they rode, instead of the infamous "Kurland here !" we would have "Hackett here !".
