After switching my loudout on it changed 2 of my weapon mods on my toon Zamjas
I had 4 CrtDx3 pen MK 14 DBBs
now 2 of them turned to CrtDx3 CrtH
shortly I was confused but I crafted all my front weapons from CrtDx2 Pen mk II very rares i bought from the exchange
you can imagine how expensive it was to get 4 to CrtDx3 Pen MK14 Epic
I think i've just seen a similar issue, although i think the change happened in the upgrade process.
I started with 3 DBBs with crtdx2 crth. Luckily all 3 upgraded in rarity along the way. One of them is now crtdx2/acc/dmg while the other 2 are crtdx2/crth/acc.

So, honestly? I would say that this was a glitch that caused your weapon mods to change. My question is this:
Has this actually effected the ships' damage output or performance or is it a point of pride thing for you?
I get that crafting can be expensive (hell, even upgrading and praying for the mods you want is hoping of the worst sort.) But, if I may?
Starting a thread named fix this or I'm quitting....that's asking to be ignored. Would a Dev respond to a thread like this? Would you if you were a dev/Community manager?
No.
So, here's the thing. Those weapons don't have the mods you want them to have? Well, I know this sounds harsh, but that's not going to get fixed. So either buck up and deal with it, or quit.

so basically its a serious bug that could happen to ANY US at ANY TIME but we should just suck up it up and deal with their failing buggy mess.
I bet in real life you are in IT.

Demanding a fix or you quit is pretty immature, and is NOT going to get anything done.
Just present your bug calmly, maybe notify Bort, and let them work on it. If nothing can be done, then nothing can be done. Roll with the punches and work with what you got. Ranting about it won't fix it faster.
Seeing as nobody acknowledged this bug and also seeing that the upgrade system is a serious investment in dilithium (hence time and/or money) i would appreciate at least an e-mail about my ticket if not a reply to this thread.
And no, a secret PM to a certain "guy" and it'll be fixed wink-wink does not qualify as "support"!

Bort is head of the Bug Department. *shrug* I was just suggesting a way to let the Bug team know without the threat which would automatically get this issue ignored as its an ultimatum.

You might get a reply to this thread if the right Dev sees it and has something to say or to ask.
I might as well repost what I said about support in another thread.
They do not have a hundred operators standing by to take your call. They don't have an SLA for resolution times.
They don't provide hands-on tech support and they don't have personalized responses to every single ticket. You don't get to spend a half-hour talking to a help desk overseas.
By and large, you're going to get a canned response. And yes, you will probably find the most helpful "do-it-yourself" advice right here on the forums. I wouldn't be terribly surprised to learn that they're directing people to come here for help.
It's a Free-to-Play game from a relatively small company. They simply can not respond to everything. What they can do, is figure out when a problem is affecting a lot of people and prioritize it. If someone comes onto the forums and alerts a Dev about a serious bug in a way that allows them to confirm the issue, that gets attention too.
But ranting about it and threatening to quit? That's practically a guarantee that no Dev will personally respond even if they take notice of it. Getting involved in a rant thread is decidedly not in their interest. In fact, it's enough reason for me to close this thread for going against the rules... but let's see if we can salvage this, eh?
To the OP I would say that you should provide as much information about the problem as you can.
For example:
4 CrtDx3 pen MK 14 DBBs
What energy type? What faction? What ship was the loadout on? What were you doing when you switched the loadout? Did you file a ticket? What was the ticket number?
No, they're probably not going to fix your gear, unless it's something that impacts a lot of people and it's something they can touch without breaking something else. Very likely, though, they have no way of changing it back (as they have no way to know what it was before) and you're just stuck. But providing information might prevent you and others from having the same thing happen to them again.

Bort is in the Systems department. He's a Systems dev. QA is coldsnapped, I believe. I think there's another QA dev that comes on here, but can't remember off the top of my head.
But yeah, Bort does get involved in bug squashing. They all do, within their areas of responsibility.

I am sorry bluegeek but that is very irresponsible of you to say and very irrespronsible for them to do. Think for a moment if you go in a shop and ask for a tuna sandwich and you get a chicken sandwich. Would you expect it to be repaced?
Or would you be fine with an answer " Oh we cant change your sandwich because we're a small firm but hey you can buy another one!"
I accept that bugs happen. But for the love of common sense, check your logs (and you should have them!) and reply to the ticket(s) people write and at least refund me the dilithium and tech upgrades if nothing else!

I can't even begin to count how many ways your sandwich analogy breaks down here. What's reasonable for a deli sandwich simply does not apply to something that only exists within the context of the game and has no audit trail.
You're expecting them to log every single expenditure of dilithium and every single step of every upgrade so that they can have a record of what your inventory looked like at any given moment? For every single player?
NO MMO does that. You may think that's a reasonable expectation, but it isn't.
Your sandwich exchange works because you have a receipt, or the shopkeeper has a reasonable belief that the sandwich came from his shop and that the sandwich is indeed not what the customer purchased. MMO's do not have that ability. At best they can tell what you've purchased from their cash store. You are already aware, or should be, that there are no returns and no exchanges on even those purchases.
Personally, I think the real 'fix', aside from preventing any glitches in the first place, is to allow crafters to select item mods. People would still be upset if their items aren't what they're supposed to be, but it would be far less effort and expense to get what they want and it would be less of an issue to simply re-craft it.

It was on my fed Reman (female) AP weapons I was in sector space changing loadouts
I submitted an IG ticked, contacted the support and well created this
@bluegeek: can't you bring this to attention to some1 who can help me out?
supp said they wont revert the change
if there is some1 I can contact directly pls tell me how and I will try
I'm genuinely sorry. If customer support says they can't, or won't, revert the change there's nothing I can do for you. I can't help you get your gear back. I can only speculate as to the reasons for that policy.
The only direct line I have to anybody is to Trendy.
The best we can do for you here is to try to get the Devs to look for a bug, to prevent it from happening again.
If you care, here's the TL;DR speculation part. I probably have some of the details wrong, but I'm reasonably sure I understand the concepts.
All of our stuff in-game exists because the database underlying the game says that character so-and-so's inventory contains a bunch of object IDs. The database is the authoritative source for that information.
Each time you change something in your inventory, the database is updated to add, change, or remove object ID's. It doesn't track what was in your inventory last week, or even a minute ago, because database resources are expensive in terms of storage and processing. It only knows what's supposed to be in your inventory right now.
Loadout data is yet another bucket of data in the database that says what object ID's should be associated with the ship at any given time. This is necessarily tied to the database tables that says what's in your inventory. You can't equip a loadout if the item isn't anywhere in your inventory (bank, ship, etc.)
Now, if something changes one of those object ID's in the database, whatever object ID is there is what you have. There is no other source of information other than the database. The database uses transactional techniques to prevent corruption of data, but if it maintains an audit trail about those transactions they are going to necessarily be limited in scope because of the sheer number of records in the database.
The short of it is, they probably have no way to tell what was in someone's inventory at any given point in time. Even a screenshot is no proof that you are still supposed to have it, because you might have deleted it by accident or traded it away for EC's. Customer support certainly won't have any ability to edit your records in the database because only the devs have that kind of access.
I'm sure there are other reasons why Customer Support does not provide replacement items on request. I'm just speculating about the technical reasons why they can't or won't.

I'm not a database expert, but I'm pretty sure most modern databases have a transaction log or a redo log.
The log may require a database administrator to read, but they should have one. It would largely depend on when the character got the item, when the bug occurred, and how long they keep the logs.
The short of it is, they probably have no way to tell what was in someone's inventory at any given point in time. A large problem I've had with PWE customer support is that there is little to no communication between their customer support representatives and their technical staff. Many problems that customer support cannot solve would be simple for a database administrator to fix. I understand that the database administators are often busy, but the customer support representatives also have no tools to help them resolve issues like this. Why don't they have an inventory editor that allows them to replace lost or broken items?
