So MACOs are US Marines all of a sudden? I really don't dig your propaganda poster line guys.
I'm flattered they couldn't come up with anything better. If they used the EGA we would have had to level their HQ :P Their logo for MACO desperately sucks.
The Universe is a messy place, You are born a mess. Sustaining life usually involves cleaning up messes. You die and usually are a mess then too. All of these messes usually involve some blood- get over it.
I'd expect Wed night/Thr morning... something like that. To know for sure check your in-game calendar via your mission journal (I can't get into the game at the moment or I'd tell ya for sure).
You can find/contact me in game as @PatricianVetinari. Playing STO since Feb 2010.
it's too bad it'll end so soon. if anything, it makes the ground fights actually rewarding. i get double digit xp instead of 0-1 per enemy, so it makes it worth playing the ground maps again.
before, i was lucky if i got close to 100 xp for ground mission, usually about 30 to 40, now it's giving me about as much as what some space ones without boosted xp do.
Now clowns, that's another story. They scare the crap out of me.
We fight them too. Entire armies spilling out of Volkswagens.
We do our best to fight them off, but they keep sending them in.
I, on the other hand, strongly dislike the double XP. My new KDF is 17 and hasn't even had his tier 2 ship yet! I'm too far away from the minimum level of missions and I really dislike that.
I never liked double XP, in any MMO ever. I always not play when they do double XP. City of Heroes has an option to turn off XP and that was my godsend.

You're welcome. Sorry it's not working for you. And to be honest, when it comes to leveling up a character that you want to do along with the story, then I agree, XP bonuses are kind of annoying, as they throw off the story. So I feel your pain.
That being said, I know there have been times in the past where I wanted to make an alt just to try a new build at end game (back when traits were locked-in, and skills were harder to retcon, for instance), and at those times, being able to "speed level" to end game was awesome.
And now, most my characters, check-that, all my characters are level 50+ now. So they're working on getting their Specializations. The grind for each spec point is so annoyingly long, that any help in that is most welcome, in my opinion. Even in this bonus XP time, earnings feel low again (just like in my signature). >shrug<
Edit to add:
You can "simulate" low level, for the most part if you want... I mean your character may get to level 30, but don't spend the XP on skills, don't add new traits, don't upgrade your ship, gear, etc... Basically keep your stats close to the level that matches your story. It won't be perfect, but it'll help.
...Then again, remember that the critters you face are supposed to scale with your level, so even if you're doing a "level 20" story at L30, you'll be facing L30 enemies. ...So really level doesn't necessarily matter too much.

I think the difference is the disparity between XP needed/gained at lower levels and at 50+. The double XP meant I got my Romulan recruit to level 50 before I finished Nimbus, which is very fast. But then since she hit 50 she's only progressed 7 levels and that's with three complete story lines under her belt and several queued missions, plus Red Alert hunting (which provides 4x XP during this event). From 50+, even more so 55+ when the XP required starts hitting 100,000+ per level, the double XP actually feels like normal progression.
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.
True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event rewards!!
yeah, the double (triple?) xp event we're having now allowed me to reach level 60 on my delta recruit doing just story missions and running the entire kobali zone.
i was lucky to hit l60 during takedown, which was the last sub-60 episode. didn't have to grind any patrol missions more than once when the story had them.
too bad we missed first contact day because of the delta recruitment thing.

No Trendy, you are the demons.
And then Trendy was a zombie.
