SERVER NOT RESPONDING SERVER NOT RESPONDING SERVER NOT RESPONDING
I am so glad I don't pay a monthly sub for this unplayable pos! Been this way for over a week!
But i bet you guys got a new ship pack on the way to sale us right
Looks like they are trying to sort it to limit the amount of players that can log in, where the **** did the 500 login que come from, I dont even remember the last time I had to wait in a que.
WHY ARE WE BEING PUT IN A QUE JUST SWITCHING CHARACTERS.
I've been struggling with this problem since the anniversary event, some days are worse then others.Even tried playing using both Steam and Arc to launch the game.Steam seems to be a little more stable then arc.It is not a problem with my side of the connection,I have no problems with stability with the other games I play.I would hazard a guess is that the proxy they use just isn't that good.I also think this queue that started on Saturday is an attempt to ease the problem without really fixing it.
Of coarse they limited the amount of players that's why we are seeing a queue not because "the game is growing" as the cryptic defense force would have you believe
The want people to come back, yet when they do they are reimpressed with the crappy performance of the technology and go elsewhere again. "Your Program failed" heads roll and they fail to figure out what is wrong with the game. I suspect the corporate environment is right out of Robocop.........
The regulars have learned to take this in stride knowing that the company rents its servers from another company who does not care as long as the checks arrive in time so he doesn't have to call he cousin the general to collect......(China remember?)
What is the valuation of the IP Startrek online anyway?
The Universe is a messy place, You are born a mess. Sustaining life usually involves cleaning up messes. You die and usually are a mess then too. All of these messes usually involve some blood- get over it.
In my pathping there are problems also in some other severs, so maybe somebody can do a pathping from another location (so, pls guys, do a pathping and report it here), but what I noticed is the following:
you idiots want people to spend money on STO but yet we cant get into game when server is full, wher is that even logical and or fair, i just spent 60 bucks on this damn game, if you want any
more money from me, fix this bull****
As Geko said "they cant help it if people love us so much" that is our answer that's all we are going to get besides more ships
Thank you, yes they did say this. However, what is also true. Do any of you like having pressure put on you?
Here's the thing, as a consumer you do have certain rights. I will only give you two examples, there are a few more things you can do. But I will leave up to you to figure out.
First, contact the state agency that issued Cryptic their Business license. THis is all available online, it is public information. Contact them either by phone or online then file a formal compliant. Additionally, you can also file with the Better Business Bureau.
Why? You just put them into a very big spot light. One is nationally recognized, the other has a lot of power to investigate issues/compliants and to do something about them.
So no, never accept a negative response. Educate yourself in knowing what you can do. Then, do something about it if you feel that strongly. And knowing is half the battle, the other half is on you.

Geko is a moron like the rest of the monkeys they have runniing the server, maybe perfect worlrold fired the wrong people from the wrong game.

I have to agree with you, considering they made more than enough money just last year to put every single game on it's own server. Not to mention, there was also more than enough to have
a full staff for each and every game.
Been getting this same error message for the past three days.
It happens as soon as the gameclient launches (not the launcher).
I have been able to sign in only once during that time as a result.
Fatal Error:
Fatal Error: Direct3D driver returned error code (DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED) while Creating vertex buffer.
Technical Details: D3D11 Device removed due to DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG 0x887a0006
I have seen it in other forums and I spent most of the day with Nvidia support establishing that the problem isn't on their end. (I have a GeForce GTX750 Ti)
As far as my system is concerned, I had only recently cleanly re-installed the OS in January and re-installed all the software including the STO and NW gameclients.
I have been having a lot of problems accessing Cryptic games as of late and it's getting really frustrating.
Here are some basic specs for my system:
Intel i7 processor
16GB DDR Ram
Windows 8.1
GeForce GTX750 Ti Graphics Adapter
The issue isn't you, the server is overloaded. It is timing out before most of us can get in and play. You in good company, you aren't alone in this. Hopefully it is remedied very soon.
Thanks for the input but I actually updated and rolled them back a few times with Nvidia support on the line. Did a system restore too and complete re-installation of all the games and clients too.
Done all I could do short of re-installing my system or replacing hardware.
The problems point back to the game.
Cryptic has posted a message about high ticket volume but they don't mention what its about.
I suspect others (not all) people are having the same or similar problems which is why I posted.
With regard to my problem, I'm just going to wait and see what happens with the next patch update for now but I'll keep this file on hand.
It's not like we all have Gigabit Per Second Dedicated Fiber Optic Internet and Gigabit Direct Patched Ethernet and Gigabit Ports and Switches, and when it all comes down to it, Cryptic and PWE could be investing more into way better OSP's for delivering their game content to provide a hell lot better way way, probably ultra low latency, and Gigabit End User Access Bandwidth, through providers such as Equinix and Internap, yet they don't want to because they probably just don't care enough, the fact that they said they can't help it is a lie, a total complete utter fail lie.
For the sake of the game and its player base, its something they're going to have to do.

WHY ARE WE BEING PUT IN A QUE JUST SWITCHING CHARACTERS.
I've updated all drivers, and still nothing. I even tried going in through safe mode, nodda.
Sooo, I am pretty much stumped.
