They'll most likely come over when Season 10 launches.
This is probably the case.
On the ESD side, I added a "UGC Spawn Point" which will hopefully make you spawn on the transporter rather than under the world. Volumizing will still take a while though.

I've been thinking about dipping my toes into Foundry work, and I was wondering: is the system flexible enough that some of these big new ground models for ships could be used to create a "hull spacewalk" sequence similar to the one in First Contact?

Interesting point... I think what we would also need is a "space map" for ground. Do we actually have that already?
There's a couple ships I've seen around on ground missions I'm not seeing in Foundry yet, like the Elachi ships from the Romulan missions, Scorpion fighters, or the Bird of Prey from the Klingon Rua Penthe mission. Could those be added as well?
Not to mention as I'm playing through the Romulan arc for my Delta Recruit, I'm really admiring the maps there like Virinat. Any chance of those showing up in the Foundry? I'd like to have Virinat as a social zone or Foundry map.

I guess we could use an outdoor map with a nighttime backdrop, set the ship really high up in the sky, and place invisible walls around the edges so the player can't look over the side. But a specific space map would definitely be better, especially if we can use the space backdrops.
"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them." -Thomas Marrone

With the new full-sized ground ship models, yes. You can't turn them upside down so it'll need to be a spacewalk on the top of the ship. They also don't look the greatest close up, but there are a few places where I think you could get away with it. Keep in mind though, since the player can potentially have any ship, it would need to be another ship you're walking along.

You can also build in the black space of an interior map. I think Primar was telling me the Starbase 24 map is large enough to accomodate. Just make sure the existing interior is on the far side of the ship.
I know some good shampoos for that if you need a recommendation.

While your at it remember Upotia Planitia as a station for ground maps
It would be great to have as a regualar space map too,
Hi Taco,is there any ship asset you have come across that could be used as a multi person orbital escape pod for scaled for ground maps, the escape pod is from the TOS era but any escape pod would do. That would be great for my latest mission
Also a request for an Orion frigate 1:1 scale if you have it, then I could add a spaceship boarding scene to another story, yee haaaa, now I'm gettin wackey too,,
Taco love the ground scale ships. Been waiting for something like this for ages. Any chance you could toss the Exeter class in there too? I really want that bad. Thanks
I don't think a full size version of the Exeter was ever made.
never seen one, but some other ships which are in sto are maybe possible? for example, the bortas, or the b'rel.
if i think crazy, it would be nice to use the custom ship costumes from the costumes tab in a scaled version for placing on ground maps.
...ok, i guess that's really thought too crazy

There actually is an escape pod object that I found while doing this (triangle type), but it's way too big for some reason, so I didn't include it. I'll do some digging and see if/where it's used and if we can modify it.

Yup, that's crazy. All of the ground scale ships have to be converted from costumes, and scaled up appropriately. There's no way to do that automatically from the costume. It's not a hard process, but it does take a while, so we've only done it for ships we needed it for.
Basically you go and have a big battle and at the end you have to rescue some escape pods. They weren't made to scale. I suspect because if they were they'd be too hard to see.

My best guess is that they were made for The New Link, at the portion where you're running around saving people who've crashed from the Indianapolis/Norgh.

I don't think it's a space asset. If it were, this one escape pod would be larger than a Galaxy Class.
Is the mirror universe Odyssey from Nukara Prime included in this update? I would love to park one of those in ESD for a mirror mission I'm working on.

Took these a few days ago when I was playing around with the new toys. Used the Starbase 24 map. There really is a ridiculous amount of open space there to play with.
I would like to thank Taco for finally getting the diplomacy/conference room as an ground asset. However, I do have one minor issue with it.
At present the view when you look out the window is currently set to a planet with some stars. Would it be possible to get it edited so we can use whatever backdrop currently exists in the foundry?

They are slightly oversized so they are visible

Aren't those Earth-sized?
