Do you have a hoarding problem?

lingeringsoul888lingeringsoul888 Member Posts: 509 Arc User
I have a hoarding problem. I love purple items. I can't bring myself to sell or discard them. A lot of my items have absolutely no use to me, but I hoard them all the same. Every time I throw some purple things out, a part of me dies.

Is there a purple gear anonymous I can attend?

Only with liqueur, sweats, some food (Targ, feline supp, etc), pets, and anything 1 of a kindish. Some of my alts have to store liqueur and food (and buy extra inv slots), even though I have a rule I can't buy what I collect.

Sigh.....Then again I did this in both GW games as well as all the games I play.

I have the same problem. My mains inventory is packed with rep armor sets ,and ship weapons and consoles. I keep telling myself I will use them someday on a new boff, or ship. But that day never comes.(sobbing)

you can't transfer rep items to other characters......and I keep living my delusoional dream that one day, these items can be put to use.

But lets be honest here, who in their right mind would ever put a purple Biofunction monitor to use.

Oh yeah, I have a big hoarding problem. Not just purple.. not just inventory. If it's a drop or a reward, I hoard it. I've got stacks of every food item. Shoot I still have like 400 Ferengi lock boxes from launch. I have maxed out my inventory on several characters. I filled all eight pages of my fleet's inventory full cause I'm the only one playing these days. I have thousands of every kind of mark, I just can't bring myself to turn n for dilithium that I'll just spend anyway. Hundreds of neural processors and all those other rep specific goodies. Lots of winter event trinkets. I'm the one that still has 'Mysterious Boxes of Cookies and Treats' on the exchange and I'm only selling half of them, even though I got all the gingerbread pets. At one point I had like 80 winter jackets, I finally sold most, hated doing that, wish they stacked. There's even a new-in-box bug ship stuffed away somewhere.

    Yep I'm a STO hoarder

I save all the nifty episode gear..
    Just in case.
Like the type3, and Disruptor hand cannon from Night of the Comet.
Ill sell most purples (unless an alt needs it), and even blues.
The rest gets sold at esd for ec. Or recycled depending on value.
    I hoard the following;
    Unopened Event ships
    Large Batteries (from STFs)
Various consumables: DosiRotgut, Neelix Recipes and consumables,
    Dual Batteries (from Q events)
    Contraband
    R&D Mats
    Qmendations
    Autographed Pics
    Crystalline Shards
    Ornaments
    Favors
    Pearls
    Winter Weapons
Risian Birds (1 purple of each variety)
    4 cats
    Lockboxes (older ones)
    Pets and hanger pets
    Tribbles
    APCs, BNPs etc..
Gimmick consoles from various ships I own.
Weapon packs, sheild packs, gimmicky console packs from lock boxes.

    And a kitchen sink.

Edit I did recently sell a bunch of purple weapons and fleet weapons.
Probably 15 - 20 fleet weapons, and 15 -20 weapons like phased polarons or polarized disruptors.
I was never going to use certain items for my build (didn't have the mods I wanted). So I got rid of them.
I have the weapons I need already, and upgraded (crtDx3 CrtH)
I made pretty good ec on the stuff I could sell.
Vendoring fleet weapons hurt, knowing how much they cost. But the extra inventory space is a big relief.

Reputation items, ship weapons, and consoles can be equipped on your bridge officers and ships. You can even throw tribbles, consumables, and devices there as well.

Some lockbox ground weapons, rep sets, and non combat pets.

I am not a hoarder. I am... *Dramatic hand gesture* a Collector. :D

I am aware of that. all my ships, and boffs already have that stuff. For some reason I hang onto it, even though I don't need it.Its mostly BTC, not BTA. It just seems a waste to vendor trash gear with awesome stats because I cant give it to an alt, or already have it on another ship I built.

I have dual phaser pistols in my inventory with the (Borg) proc,,,just because it was my first gear drop in a Ground STF I still have all kinds of space weapons with (Borg) proc as well.

Yeah, I have a habit of hoarding things as well whether they are random drops or things on the Exchange that I perceive to be inexpensive. But every now and then I force myself to sell some of them as well. I have cleared up a lot of inventory space, but eventually it starts to fills backup so I need to continually manage my inventory.

Fortunately, most of the things I have in my inventory have been sold for a profit, or at the very worst they have sold for about the same price I purchased them for on the Exchange.

I collect high end food items and drinks. Because back in the dawn of time they were drop only. And tribble breeding used to be a good money maker. So was tribble bombing fleet banks.

I used to... Then I realized that it's all just in my head, started deleting things and I havn't looked back since.

I DO have all the reputation sets, but I also mounted them all on BO's, but thats not from a sense of "must have", but more a "nice to have".
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

I think sometimes I do with materials. I hardly even craft so it's really bad plus I haven't spent the time selling stuff on the exchange so they just keep building up.

Unless stuff is critdx3 and it's purple, I would sell that stuff.

Once all the gear slots on my ships are full, I then have to decide which rep gear to discard.

It's hard, but I tell myself: my Klingon uses Disruptors, so it's OK to vendor the Nukara tetryon gear. Same for my Fed engineer who's settled on Polaron weapons. But every alt saves his Rom Plasma weapons for a rainy day. You never know when you'll need an extra plasma turret, right?

I'm the mirror opposite. I've never had to upgrade my rosters, ship or bank space because I am allergic to clutter. If I don't use it I sell it. If I can't sell it I delete it.

Rep gear != purple drop stuffz. The former I keep (even though I will likely never upgrade the set), the latter I usually just discard. There used to be a time when a purple Mk XII Phaser Induction Coil was worth like 40mil: nowadays it's hardly worth the trip to the Exchange any more.

I do occasionally hoard things, if I think they'll be useful to either my main character or one of my alts (if they item isn't character bound).

Otherwise I sell anything I find on the exchange to save up for upgrade tokens.

    I don't have a problem. I can quit anytime I want.
