    Jack; Report.

Nizure: This is diffentlly the sourse of the energy signature. What is interesting is there is no power sourse pre say. It seems to absorb ambimt energy from the susurrounding area And store it.

Sllegi: there are some elements in the alloy that I do not recognize.

OOC: hope I got that right. It has been awhile since I saw SG 1.

OOC: Almost. The gates aren't made of an alloy. They are made almost entirely of Naquada, which is a mineral. The energy absorption part is right though. Also a gate without a DHD would need more power than it could gain by just siting there to create an outgoing wormhole.

Ellen: Sir, debris were just transported into orbit around the planet.

    *Kran taps his combadge.*

Kran: Do you know were it came from?

Ellen: No, Sir. We were scanning the planet but our navigational sensors picked up new objects. We scanned them and found residual transporter energy on them.

Kran: Acknowledged. Keep your guard up.

*Kran taps his combadge again and looks back at T'rela.*

Kran: This is looking awfully suspicious.

OOC: I'm sorry but did you really think a starship would not notice new objects just appearing? Also Starfleet ships always scan an area when they drop out of warp.

OOC: Actually, I did anticipate that. And I know Starfleet ships do that. All part of the plan. Roleplaying Tal'Shiar is much more fun than an undercover agent. Hence why I went for protocol Selan: he didn't do a very good job and was discovered, even though he didn't know. It'll all turn out just fine. Or not. We will see xD.

T'rela: Well then, it seems you found out. A lot of what I told you is indeed not true. What you can believe is the following. My name is indeed T'rela. Your suspicions, which you all too obvious discussed staring at the grass, are correct. I am a Tal'Shiar operative.
The question remains if this entire affair has to get an unnerving end. You see, I have a reason for being here, and I hope you did not honestly felt you and your petty ships were of any interest to the Tal'Shiar. No, my interest here goes far beyond a mere Starfleet Task Force. Had my interest lied in destroying you, believe me Admiral, you would not be drawing breath this minute. None of you would. Your ships would be burning hulks. But like I said, this isn't why I am here. Now then, how about we focuss on the task at hand? This object, you are not the only one dying to find out what will happen with it.

OOC: The reason for the failed infiltration btw..... how would your captains have responded to seeing Tal'Shiar people marching around? Talking or phasers blasting? This is simply me staying alive xD

    *Sllegi still talking to Jack*

Sllegi: the energy absorbing nature of the object is making scans of it difficult. We will know more as we study it.

OOC : how is that. Even star fleet engineers can make mistakes. And is there not a DHD? Or have we not found it yet?

Lissan: Admiral, I suggest we throw this woman to brig. She's Tal'Shiar after all, and where is Tal'Shiar there is only trouble.

Scarlett: I agree. However, we should interrogate her first about her true mission here and what she knows about the device we come to investigate.

*Meanwhile Sirius, Daniel, M'Toui and officers from Ranger have been conducting scans and running analysis of unknown object.*

Daniel: Silegi is right. This is made from completely unknown alloy. Only thing I've managed to determine so far is that this material is highly resilient. Maybe even more than ablative armor we use on our ships.

Sirius: Well, that's a start. I wonder what are those markings for. (looks at weird symbols at the surface of ring)

OOC: I'm interested too whether there is, or there is not a DHD.

T'rela: Throw me in the brig? I am curious if there is even a single brig in the entire Federation, including your top-secret Facility 4028, that can hold me. I am not here to be your enemy. The fact you are still breathing should proove that. Now, I am offering my help. I was here before you got here, and am interested in this device. Even somebody with an attitude such as yourself, one that would throw me in the brig immediately, should have the brains to connect the dots that I had time to study this device.

OOC: Will wait with continuing until we know whether or not we have a DHD.

*A rather old and battered cargo ship drops out of warp just before it begins to fall towards the jungle world. On the bridge we have a scarred, old cargo captain with long toned down ginger hair and beard, two cargo ship helm officers and three Starfleet Ensigns in the old Original Series uniform*

The Captain: Give me a report on what has just happened!

The Operations Ensign: Sir we have left that anomaly at warp six, and we are now going to crash into a class M planet!

The Captain: Is that planet inhabited?

    The Sciences Ensign: Yes sir.

The Captain: Make sure we crash in the vicinity of the nearest inhabitants, let's hope they have a doctor there.

One Helm Officer: I can get us about half of a mile in any direction before we crash!

The Sciences Ensign: head North West for half a mile then! It will be a mile journey to the nearest group, they would see us.

The Captain: It is our best shot! Now shoot it!

*The old cargo frigate emits a small burst from it's failing engines before it explodes causing a vast amount of smoke, burning crates and plasma to flood out*

The Captain: That is my retirement fund gone for good.

OOC: It's perfectly fine if you join! Quick question though: Is your ship crashing neat the tribes or our characters? rahmkota19, I was just trying to explain why my crew did detect the transport. Sorry if it seemed hostile. Finally, yes their is a DHD. I was just trying to remind everyone, myself included, of the power requirements of the gates. I had to look it up to be sure.

Kran: No, as much as I hate to admit it, she is more useful to us if she helps. You will however need to hand over your weapon and any sensor jamming device you have.

*The ship continues it's final landing, it can be seen just exiting a cloud and the captain adjusts his chair*

The Science Ensign: One minute until we crash sir.

The Captain: Full power to the structural integrity, the shields were blown out in the anomaly. And I recommend we head to the back of the ship, we will have a better chance to survive.

*As every deck is evacuated to the back of the ship the Captain then stands on a catwalk above about 300 people in a massive cargo bay*

The Captain: Everyone, not all of us will survive, but let's hope those who do survive tell our tales, show the information we have collected and live out a good life. If I don't survive then please claim the ship as your own. Please do whatever you want, destroy anything you hated aboard this ship, just don't harm anyone, the impact will do that for you.

    *in orbit aboard the Ranger*

Foabyngoa: Where did that ship come from?

Toechena: No idea, it was hitting atmosphere before I had a good reading on it.

Foabyngoa: Can we get a tractor beam on them?

Toechena: negative. It is already suffered to much damage. A tractor beam will cause it to break up.

Foabyngoa: open a hail. This is Lieutenant Foabyngoa, acting Captain of the Federation ship Ranger. We are attempting to beam you and your crew off. Stand by. Transporters, beam the crew off that ship.

OOC: I will leave it up to you if it works or if the ship is creating to much atmospheric ionization for the transporter.

    *Kran taps his combadge.*

    Kran: Umbra, what's your status?

Ellen: A heavily damaged freighter dropped out of warp and began crashing into the planet. The Ranger is attempting to evacuate everyone on board as we speak.

Kran: Understood. Assist in any way you can. Kran out.

*Kran taps his combage and turns back to T'rela.*

Kran: Well, we still have an anomaly to investigate.

*They all head over to the gate and begin assisting with taking readings. After some time Menzukat calls out.*

Menzukat: Capitan! Come look at this!

*Kran and a few others rush over to find Menzukat standing next to a device overgrown with vines. It appeared to be some sort of stone control panel with a large red orb inset into the center.*

Menzukat: Look, the glyphs on this device correspond to the ones on the ring. It almost seems to be some sort of control system. It's also feeding power directly to the ring!

Kran: Do you think you can operate it?

Menzukat: Without knowing it's purpose or what the glyphs mean, I would be shooting blind. I can try though.

Kran: Make it so. Everyone, clear away from the ring! We don't know what will happen when Menz activates that console.

OOC: This gate's physical operation will be a little different from the one's from the series. Mainly that the inner ring will always rotate, regardless of whether you are using a DHD or not. Each of the chevrons move on this gate, much like the move version. Also when I say first chevron I am referring to the first one that locks. The one directly on top will always be referred to as the last or seventh chevron by me.

*Menzukat presses one of the glyphs on the console and the gate suddenly comes to life. The inner ring began rotating slowly in a clockwise direction until the glyph Menzukat indicated lined up with the first chevron. The first chevron then opened and closed again. Half a second later the chevron lit up with a gold/yellow light. The gate was then idle in a way that seemed to indicate it was waiting for further input.*

    Menzukat: Sir, do I continue?

Kran: What do you think Captains? Should we continue with our experiment?

OOC: I will be posting a picture that illustrates the chevron's action better soon.

T'rela: Well, let me show you my value for such an expedition. As you know, I was here before you were, and had plenty of chance to analyze this object. Judging from the symbols that are both on the object and its control panel, I have come to believe we are dealing with some sort of gateway.
These symbols are probably coordinates to access another gate. Judging by the number of chevrons you need 7 symbols to access another gate. The first six will probably be the coordinates of that other gate, 2 for the x axis, 2 for the y and 2 for the z. I haven't been able to figure out what the seventh symbol should be.

OOC: Ofcourse these were the conclusions of what the crew of the Raptor Star figured out, and not T'relas. Do with this as you want.

*While he was supervising investigation of unknown device, suddenly Sirius' commbadge chirped and a female voice was heard over it.*

T'Luminareth: Captain, I apologize for intrusion, but there is a damaged freighter entering on planet's atmosphere. What do you want me to do?

*At that moment Sirius managed to overhear Kran's discussion with his ship and after a moment of thinking he replies to his tactical officer.*

Sirius: Well, since they are already entering atmosphere, I guess the tractor beam is out of option. Besides, we don't exactly know is the freighter even in shape to endure stress of being pulled by a tractor beam. Which leaves us no other options, than coordinated mass beam out with other ships. Dragonstar is the largest ship here and we have plenty of empty quarters at the moment so the crew of that freighter will be fine.

    T'Luminareth: Acknowledged sir. T'Luminareth out.

Sirius: (speaks more for himself) Damn it! Like we don't have enough problems already. (then he looks at the sky)

*Sirius and others are looking up at the freighter that is about to have crash landing on planet.*

Daniel: I just hope it won't hit our yacht.

Sirius: Or us for that matter.

M'Toui: I agree, that would be very unfortunate.

*Meanwhile Lissan and Scarlett got back from the vehicle with some more equipment.*

Scarlett: Chances for something like that to happen are extremely low, so we can presume that we and our yacht are safe.

Lissan: True. There are higher chances to be hit by a lightning than for something like that to happen.

Sirius: (sighs) In that case, I must inform you that this chat is over, and we have more work to do with investigation of this strage device. Whatever that is. (looks at the circled object with a puzzled expression of his face)

    Daniel: Yes, I'm on it.

    Scarlett: As am I captain.

Sirius: That's Good to know. M'Toui, Lissan, watch our back and keep a sight at our Tal'Shiar guest at all times.

Lissan and Scarlett: (almost simultaneously) Aye sir.

Lissan: And what will you do, captain?

Sirius: A little of both I guess, and supervise your work of course. (smiles a bit)

*Sirius then leaves them to do their work and walks away to Admiral Kran, Captain Ranger and Tal'Shiar agent. He asks them about the freighter and people onboard. Later he returns back to his officers.*

Sirius: Well I have some good news finally. We have successfully saved entire crew of that freighter.

    Daniel: Indeed, that is great.

Sirius: So, any news of investigation progress?

Daniel: Actually yes, Menzukat found something what appears to be some kind of operating device for the ring. He's going to try to operate it. And I've just set up some security measures so that everything gets offline in case something goes wrong.

    Menzukat: Sir, do I continue?

Kran: What do you think Captains? Should we continue with our experiment?

Sirius: Well, so far nothing bad happened so we might as well proceed. After all, I believe we are all eager to see what is the purpose of that device.

Lissan: I agree. We should go ahead.

Daniel: Yes, and if anything bad happens, I set the countermeasures so I think we are pretty much safe.

However, before they could proceed T'rela wanted to speak to them so they listened to her first.
    rahmkota19 wrote: »
*T'rela was still in cover. Uniform even more dirty as before. From her lower position, she began to talk.*

Daniel was first to speak: Yes, that actually does makes perfect sense. And if my presumption is correct, that last symbol could be the point of origin or the planet we are currently on in this case. Only thing we don't know is which one of the symbols represent this planet. (then he turns towards Menzukat) Go ahead Mr. Menzukat and start pressing other symbols. We will come up with the last one eventually.

Before Menzukat could do anything all of a sudden an injured man with burnt clothes appeared from the bushes near by and asked them for a phaser. He was also talking something about the doom coming to them. It didn't made much sense to any of them, but Sirius got ahead with the question anyways.

Sirius: I'm sorry. But you will have to give us more information and explain why do you need a phaser?

OOC: Ok, the story got twisted pretty much and I did the best I could of my follow up. So I hope that everything fits fine. If I should correct something feel free to advise me.
@coblivionic: I would like that Menzukat fails to dial the gate and that instead something or someone from the other side suddenly dials in and that we have a little more trouble :D What do you think about that?

OOC: @ Sovereign. You have referred to my Captain as Captain Ranger. Do you mean Captain of the Ranger? Or is it a quirk of your Captain? His name is Jack D. Taybourne, in case you missed it.

    No big deal. Just curious.

The Captain: When did ships become so big? The largest one I have seen was that constitution the recently graduated ensigns were aboard saving my ship from Klingons, those D7s were utter marvels! Then again that constitution, the Lightning I think she was called put up a brilliant show. Utterly brilliant to see from the bridge. Shame I couldn't have been on one. But that constitution was so cramped! How many dampening fields do you have on this behemoth...

*The captain wiles away his story of how he ended up being rescued to one of the Dragonstar's crew members while leaning on a wall.*

The Operations Ensign: I think it's best to tell the captains of the other vessels that story sir. Not the rescue teams.

The Captain: Very well, I wonder when I get to have a nice conversation with them. Let's hope they are as kind as Captain Roberts... Nevermind.

Daniel: I'm not quite sure yet, but if this is some kind of portal than the connection must be established on both sides. And it maybe some sort of security measure, in case if the wormhole fails so you could be returned back instead of being stuck somewhere in universe or whatever else the portal takes you through.

Scarlett: Mr. Sheppard may be correct about that. However, we won't know it if we don't try so I suggest we go ahead with it.

OOC: sovereign47, that was my intention.

*Menzukat continues pressing buttons and the gate continues locking chevrons until it reaches the seventh. When Menzukat presses the seventh glyph, the last chevron opens but does not close. Menzukat looks confused and rests his hand on the red orb. The orb glows and the gate produces a sound like it is powering down after which, the first six chevrons lights go out and the seventh one closes.*

Menzukat: It would appear that I entered an invalid address. If I could read these glyphs then I may be able to input a valid one but as of right now it would just be trial and error.

Kran: Well, does anyone have any ideas?

T'rela: There are 37 symbols on that gate. That gives us about 1673844480 different gates we can access with the first six symbols. This is a little less painful: if we assume that we need one specific symbol at the end, we only have *T'rela types in a few numbers on her own tricorder* 1402410240 possible combinations. We need something a lot faster than tricorders or our brains if we are to figure out which symbol we need to use. Maybe you can use your ships computers to process the data?

*Her intercom had still been open. Subcommander Nine had already given the order to start cracking symbols, using the R'Kota's onboard computers.*

    The Captain: The year's 2267 isn't it?

The Operations Ensign: Well sir if this was 2267 then everyone rescuing us would be wearing reasonable clothes! And not this weird shiny stuff.

The Captain: You have a point Ensign. But what year is it? And has war with the Klingons broken out?

The Operations Ensign: I hope not, I only signed up so I could explore space! Not fight warlike animals.

The Captain: They are not just warmongers ensign, trading with them for ten years shows their full culture, I won't bother you with that. Anyway good doctor how is captain Frank?

    A Doctor: He can walk!

    The Captain: Good.

*The doctor walks out of the crowd along with a rather heavily scarred but young Starfleet Captain using a walking stick to hobble along*

The Captain: Ah Frank, how are you?

Captain Frank: I'm not bad, the leg's painful but the stick is helping

*Meanwhile at the gate the figure returns with a damaged phaser*

The Figure: It seems wrecks of old show more kindness then the cowards of war, I only wish to see the activation of many new ages.

OOC: Nice! Great minds think alike it seems  So, my idea would be that a MALP, or Kino comes thorugh the Gate, or a squad of Jaffa, or maybe even a Darth, or Puddle Jumper. What do you think? :D

Scarlett was the first to speak: It would appear so. We should focus on finding the symbol of this particular planet like Mr. Sheppard suggested.

*Then the Romulan started speaking and everyone turned towards her listening what she have to say.*

Sirius answered almost instantly: That's not a bad idea at all. (then he taps his commbadge) Sirius to Dragonstar!

T'Luminareth responded to him: Dragonstar here. What do you want us to do, sir.

*Sirius first explains to her all they have discovered so far about the device before saying T'Rela's suggestion.*

Sirius: Can you prepare the computer for processing the data about those symbols?

    T'Luminareth: Yes I can.

Sirius. Alright, we'll send you the data then. Sirius out! (turns towards Scarlett after ending communication) Mrs. Miyazaki, would you be so kind to transfer the data to our ships?

    Scarlett: Of course.

*She takes the tricoder with data and goes to the APC so she can send it to the Dragonstar. Meanwhile, Captain of the Ranger also stated his idea.*

    Daniel: I'm on it captain.

The Captain: Ah never mind. I wonder what is down there, even a salvage operation would be more interesting. Mind operating that console Ensign?

The Operations Ensign: As long as I can come along.

Captain Frank: I am coming along too, might as well see something more interesting then a ship.

*The Captains walk onto a transporter while the Operations Ensign manages to find a small booklet before walking to the panel and activating a delayed transport, to which the Ensign hurries to the transporter alcove, leaving the instructions. Then the trio are beamed down to a position near to the crowd and the gate, to which the figure immediately jumps into a bush*

The Captain: This'll be interesting. I think I have my mobile chair

*The Captain takes out a small stool from his coat, he immediately pulls a small pin out that causes the thing to become an outdoor chair. The Captain then sits on it.*

Captain Frank: You have an outdoor chair in your coat? You are a bit eccentric.

The Captain: Not really, just oddly prepared, I have quite a few tricks up my sleeve.
