I really hope the T6 version actually has some battle to it, in the stats, a LT tac boff slot isnt going to cut it for me and I desperately want to get this ship, just show me some good stats.:P
However, to me, it's Not quite making sense here...I would figure that Escorts and the like should get that, or when they say "Pilot" they mean "Using outside of parameters"?

For the Feds, they're getting a T6 Galaxy, not Sovereign.
Normally, I would concur that the notion of Pilot Spec suits Escorts more. But a number of the terms from it come directly from Cruisers in canon. The most obvious to me was "Fly Her Apart" which was an order by Captain Sulu to his helmsman while in command of USS Excelsior so he could reach Kirk and the Enterprise in time.

Same as "Back Her Off" from the existing spec choices on Holodeck, which, as we all know, was from Kirk to the Enterprise-A helmsman after Chang's first torpedo strike.
Your father was captain of a starship for twelve minutes. He saved 800 lives, including your mother's, and yours.
What with this and the rumoured Galaxy T6 refit, I'm quietly hoping that these are generalist ships with a Lt command hybrid slot, while the Pilot ships are refits of the B'rel and Defiant (Rotarran and Valiant classes, anyone?).
It would be a wonderful step back in the right direction to have the option of iconic, canon ships at top-tier again.
Eh the new negh'var costume is available on holodeck so I doubt its an actual new model just a working costume for existing negh'var ships. I guess now even though it doesn't have a c-store version or any special item/console or whatever I guess as long as it looks like the futuristic negh'vars from the end of tng and end of voyager episodes then its about as good as we will get to it lol.

Cautiously half closes wallet. I hope this is just the teaser and real t6 one comes soon. Fingers crossed.
of course it will have a new costume too. i've even seen a silhouette of it.
question is, with the galaxy and negvar getting tier 6, were is the tier 6 d'deridex?
May not be a T6 D'deridex...could end up being a T6 Ha'apax/Haakona, the Dual Vector Module console has a Ha'apax Refit listed in addition to Haakona, so they seem to be separate ships.

considering the other 2 are cannon ships id find it odd to stick the rommies with one that doesn't even seem that popular.

That is an excellent question. Even on that "source" which has been pretty reliable, we see the shield icons for the Exploration Cruiser and Negh'var. But zero mention of a Romulan equivalent. Considering the Galaxy-class and Negh'Var were originally from TNG, I'm surprised there is nothing of a D'Deridex. The D'D is the most common symbol of Romulan Warbirds and has been the most frequently shown one.
But again, that's not 100% official. I guess we'd have to keep an eye out on the official announcements.

Correct. I see the D'D all the time in Sector Space and all that. The Fed/KDF ships are canon, and having the Roms go with a non-canon one would stick out like a sore thumb.
I very much like the revamped look, beyond that deflector effects project from the nose antenna on the voDelH which looks a bit derpy. I have been flying around in a Mirror Negh'Var but that is very long in the tooth and a bit under Tac'd. My Mat'Ha actually has more HP at level 60 than this old T5 cruiser, which is very problematic with all the stuff that can rip off your shields in PvE now. I'd love to fly around in a proper T6, preferably with either more Tac abilities (Mirror has only a Lt. and Ens. Tac) and/or access to Lt. Comm or higher Pilot.
Where is the proof that feds are getting a T6 galaxy? In the Pilot spec pics they all have a Soverign, iirc...
They also have a Shesar and a KDF Vet Destroyer in those pics, highly unlikely either of those two are getting access to Pilot. The Command BOff teaser had a Eclipse pictured using a Command power, so just because it's in the pics doesn't mean that it's getting a Pilot revamp necessarily.
As for where we're getting our info, it's a reliable un-official source that goes digging into the game files to find things. We can't link the site here, as that is against Cryptic's policies.
Well damn I never thought I would see my favourite looking KDF ship in game with all the correct bits attached. Cryptic my interest is peaked, now don't eff it up with another bad BOFF layout like the original Negh'var at T5.
I tried out the new skin today on holo deck and I have to say it's quite impressive. The weapon pods underneath the nacelles together with the new deflector make for a very imposing battle cruiser. Please make a T6 version with this new skin Cryptic.
These additions on Holodeck to the Negh'Var skins is an ultra rare action by Cryptic.
Firstly, Cryptic very rarely fixes ship models after release, unless there's some glaringly bad issue that cannot by ignored by anyone.
Secondly, while Cryptic releases new ship skins a lot, they're usually tied to buying a new ship entirely for unlock.
The stuff done with the Negh'Var on Holodeck already is a pretty unique thing in STO. They improved a default, freebie ship model, the Negh'Var and added things to it. They added a new skin based off the Negh'Var, the vODleh skin, and it was something I can immediately use on the T5 Fleet Negh'Var I had. And this was enabled without having to buy a new ship.
Frankly, I can't remember the last year, the last ship that got anywhere this kind of treatment

I think the only other ship that ever got skins for free was the defiant with it's Vigilant & Gallant Refit skins. Those were also snuck in without any announcement.
So, how do you guys like the new NeghTev skin for the T6 Negh'var. I know most od the people would probably prefer the classic one - especially the updated "Regent's Negh'var" model with the big underslug disruptor cannons, but how do you like the new skin for the new T6 ship?

It's alright but they used the black skin on the T6 Negh'Var skin, which I'm not fond of using on my vessels. I'd have to see how it looks with Type 3 (the green and black skin introduced with the Mogh). I'm more partial to the Negh'Var and vODleh skins.

Bluntly: I think the Negh'Tev looks like another cheap plastic toy you'd find in a McDonald's Happy Meal. Klingon ships were never that 'blocky'.

Yeah, I kinda' agree with you about that, but like warmaker001b said - I need to see more of the ship in different hull material combinations to really judge. I don't like too blocky either, although I like having big guns all over the place on a Klingon ship.
On the other hand, the Negh'Tev is the only ship that gained access to additional new ship skin, so the "Regent's Negh'Var" with the big underslug cannons might do the trick.
I really don't. *shrugs*
I like the Andromeda, I think Thomas has done another marvelous job there, I'm on the fence about the Negh'Tev but then again I never really fancied the Negh'var either....however the new D'D....I don't like it. To me, it's missing a bottom neck and it makes it look weird, I really don't like that frontal "visor" thing, whatever it is - looks like a friggin' aeroplane. The whole thing reminds me of an overgrown R'Mor and I find the Baratan for ex. much prettier.
I highly doubt they'll release a T5 Negh'var Refit at this point.
Unfortunately, I really don't see the point of the Negh'tev over the Ty'gokor unless you're willing to gimp yourself for the classic Negh'var look. KDF really got hosed this time around.
Comments
i don't like my pancake intel ship one bit. nor am i fan of the midget bort command ships. but this is pure kdf through and through.
i just hope its not the talked about time travelers ship to be featured in episodes and unplayable by us.
I didn't make shots yet of the regular Negh'var but there is an option to have the Beta underwing pylons also. This is all on Holodeck already.
Maybe I'll put my Delta Recruit into the T6 Negh instead of the Qib if it winds up having decent stats.
However, to me, it's Not quite making sense here...I would figure that Escorts and the like should get that, or when they say "Pilot" they mean "Using outside of parameters"?
