*The Umbra had not been idle. The Umbra had just finished extending her shields around the Dominar when the Vaaduar dropped out of warp. Just as the Dragonstar begins her first volley, four Yellowstone class runabouts emerge from the Umbra's main shuttlebay. Seconds later shuttlebay two launches six Aeon Timeships. The Umbra's small craft group together in one large wing and assault one of the assault cruisers.
The Umbra itself rotates to bring her starboard side to the Vaaduar. The Umbra then fires every phaser bank she has at the Vaaduar, hitting each one but only dealing miner damage. At the same time the Umbra launches seven shield generators from her aft torpedo bay. The generators attach themselves to the Dominar and produce a shield.
The Umbra then retracts her own shields and flies at full speed to the dreadnought. The Umbra then focuses her fire on the dreadnought and fires three neutronic torpedoes.
By this time, one of the assault cruisers had been destroyed by the Umbra's small craft. They then proceeded to the next one.*

*Nizure had returned to the bridge and only shook her head at Jack's half smile as she took her place at the science station on the right side of the bridge. As the the battle unfolded, Jack and the rest of the bridge listened to the comms*
Jack: Let's see if we can pull those cruisers off of the Umbra and Dragonstar, that will cut the fire they are taking by about 40%. I want shields and weapon up as soon as we drop back to normal space. Launch all fighters, have Delta help take down that deadnoughts shields and Scorpion focus on torpedoes and constriction anchors.
Helm: We are approaching the coordinates Captain.
Jack: Take us in.
* The Ranger dropped back to normal space in a flash of light. Immediately fighters launched from her forward hangar while a SAR shuttle took off from hanger two.*
Jack: Helm put our bow on that interdiction cruiser, full impulse. Attack pattern beta three. Stand by cannons scatter volley, and beam arrays to fire at will on my mark. Make that cruiser our primary target. Prepare forward torpedoes with a full spread of gravametics.
* As the crew prepared Jack watched the Ranger closed on the Vaadwaur ships battling with the Umbra and Dragonstar. A couple of the cruisers fired at Ranger to little effect.*
Cilly: Forward shields at 97%.
*once the interdiction cruiser, two others and the deadnought was in weapons range.*
Jack: Fire. Helm 1/4 impulse.
* the Ranger's quad and dual heavy cannon fired a shotgun pattern into the Vaadwaur ships as the beam arrays flashed orange lines across space. Jack kept an eye on the data of the cruiser's shields, waiting for them to dropped to 20%.
Jack: Beam overload on that cruiser, fire torpedoes.
*24 torpedoes jumped from Ranger toward two of the cruisers, the deadnought, and one of the battleships. Jack noted the Delta's firing tachyon beams into the deadnought and a couple of Scorpions shooting down a tricobalt torpedoe. The overloaded phaser beam discharged collapsed the cruisers shields closely followed by the torpedoes and the Borg cutting beam.*
Jack: Helm, hard to port, full impulse. Aft torpedoes full spread neutronics on the deadnought. Fire when ready.
* Ranger turned away from the cruiser as it explodes. Six quantum torpedoes from her aft launcher speed into the Vaadwaur ships.*
Cilly: INCOMING CANNON BARRAGE.
Jack: evasive action ALL HANDS BRACE FOR IMPACT.
*Ranger shook under the enemy fire.*
Shelana: aft shields down to 48%, structural integrity down to 87%.
Toechena: Damge control teams responding.
Jack: Balance the shields and devert emergency power to shields. Focus fire on the closest cruiser. Attack pattern alpha.
Foabyngoa: We lost three fighters in that barrage.

Sirius: Great! That is our chance. Execute attack pattern Sirius omega now!
T'Luminareth and Bronar (at the same time): Yes sir!
*At that moment, T'Luminareth opened heavy fire from all foward phaser arrays, torpedo launchers and pulse phaser turrets towards the dreadnought. And in the meantime, Bronar started moving Dragonstar in position beneath her by half of impulse speed.*
Sirius: Alright, overload both spinal lance cannons and fire at my mark.
*He said that as Dragonstar was getting closer to the dreadnought while T'Luminareth has been still firing a heavy barrage of combined beam/turret/torpedo fire at her.*
Sirius: (yells) Now! Fire spinal lances!
*Right before Dragonstar divided beneath the dreadnought from both spinal lance cannons erupted large orange beams with slammed at the dreadnoughts shields and hull so hard, that they left deep scars on her hull.*
T'Luminareth: Target's primary shields have failed and secondary are at 10%. They have also multiple hull breaches.
Sirius: Nicely done! As soon as our aft facing weapons are in arc fire all torpedoes and arrays at that dreadnought again. I want it dead as soon as possible.
*Meanwhile, dreadnought fired its beams all the time at all ships including Dragonstar, but it couldn't turn fast enough to launch torpedoes from foward or aft launchers at her. At the same time Dragonstar's fighters overwhelmed and finnaly destroyed the third cruiser and after that they attacked one of Vaadwaur battleships in cooperation with Umbra and Ranger's small craft. Several of them have been lost in process.*

*The Umbra was now within three kilometers of the dreadnought. She fired all of her facing phaser arrays at once, breaking through the last of the dreadnought's shields.
As she passed the dreadnought, she fired a neutronic torpedo at one of the dreadnought's nacelles. The explosion ignited the warp plasma in the dreadnought setting off a chain reaction that destroyed the entire ship.

OOC: I researched your ship a bit. You do realize that lasers can't penetrate a starship's navigational shielding right?
*One of the Vaaduar vessels breaks off from combat and flies to the new ship. It scans the dreadnought and after finding out that it is only armed with lasers, simply returns to the fight.*

Comms officer: Channel open sir.
Kran: Unidentified vessel, this is Fleet Admiral Kran Su of the Federation Starship Umbra. You have enter- *The whole image shakes as the Umbra is hit by a torpedo.* -You have entered an area under the control of the Delta Alliance. You have no authority here. If we were to obey your command we would be destroyed by the Vaaduar. I cannot comply.
*As Kran says this the remaining assault cruisers are destroyed, leaving only the two battleships.*

OOC: Guess I'll take care of the rest of the Vaaduar.
*The Umbra flies along side the Ranger focusing her fire on one of the battleships. As soon as the battleship's shields fail the Umbra and Ranger fire a salvo of torpedoes destroying it. The second battleship is soon destroyed in a similar fashion.
After the battle, the Umbra's small craft return. The Umbra drops her shields and flies to a position 20 kilometers from the alien dreadnought.*
Kran: Hail them.
Comms Officer: Channel open.
Kran: This is the USS Umbra. Please understand, there was nothing we could do. Had we stopped fighting the Vaaduar would have destroyed us. I have a duty to my ship and crew. I cannot allow anyone to destroy us. The fact that the Vaaduar had to be destroyed is regrettable, but there was no alternative. Now, what is it you wanted? Oh, and welcome to this sector!
OOC: The Dragonstar and Ranger are free to choose how they react to the alien dreadnought. Also, after studying this ship a bit more, the plasma weapons it has may be somewhat of a problem.

Jack: Helm position us off to the side of the Umbra facing the alien. Tactical, defensive posture, keep shields up and weapons ready, but do not target them. Lower the aft shields as necessary to recover our fighters and shuttles.
*Ranger takes up a defensive position a couple kilometers to the side of the Umbra and recalls it small craft*

OOC: Sorry for nothing posting anything earlier, I was a little out of inspiration. Spent it on one of my RP's on my fleet's forum
*A combined tactical assault from all 3 Federation ships and their support crafts have destroyed the remaining Vaadwaur ships. Dragonstar dropped her aft shields so she could retrieve her fighters of which 2 were destroyed and 3 of them were damaged. One of the fighters was pulled in with Dragonstar's aft tractor beam emitter, due to a damaged impulse engines.*
Sirius: (turning towards his main engineering officer) Chief, I want full status and damage report?
Daniel: (while checking systems at his console) Our shields are at 40 percent and regenerating and our hull has been barely scratched. There's been only hull breach at deck 12, sections 27 through 30. Both warp and impulse engines are fully operational, as well as our sensors. We have one damaged pulse phaser turret and two phaser arrays. All other weaponry is fully functional and the power levels are returning to normal. My teams are already on their way to repair damaged system.
Sirius: That's very good. (than he calls doctor by his communicator) Mrs. Keller, do we have any casualties?
Ashley: We have six injured and luckily no mortal causalities so far.
Sirius: Excellent! Sirius out. (then he looks at his helm officer) Now let's see what that alien ships needs. Mr. Lukin, please take us in formation with Umbra and Ranger and hail the alien ship.
*As he said that Bronar started guiding Dragonstar closer to the Umbra and Ranger, while at the same time he was trying to open communications channel with unknown alien dreadnought.*
Bronar: (after a few seconds) Hailing frequency is open sir.
Sirius: This is captain Sirius Verax of the Federation starship USS Dragonstar. We were unable to fulfill your request, because otherwise we would have been destroyed by Vaadwaur ships. However, we are not the once that were asking for this conflict, but we have right to defend ourselves when necessary. I hope you will understand that we had no other choice and that we wish you no harm. Right the opposite, on the behalf of United Federation of Planets I wish you welcome to this sector, and I'm offering assistance if needed. *The alien ship sits there, occasionally rippling as it discharged another pulse of dimensional feedback*
Toh: Admiral, if you care to listen to me, you should do what they say. I've encountered them before, and as long as the Sth'Vol don't detect anything made by what you call Iconians on this ship they'll leave you alone. And don't try and attack them either. They won't like that.

Jack: they scaned us but want to scan us? all right. Has somebody been messing with the universal traslator? *looks at Shelana*
Nizure: the universal translator is working correctlly. their language may be to new or complex for it yet.

Nizure: scans are inconcluseive. there is some sort of dimensional distorsion.

Sirius: Make a tachyon sweep then. I want to know what we are dealing with in case they become hostile.
Scarlett: Aye sir. (continues typing at her console and trying to collect data about alien ship)
*Meanwhile, Sirius heard the voice of his helmsman.*
Bronar: Captain, the alien ship is responding.
Sirius: (with an expression of relief on his face) Good. Let's hear what they have to say.
*Bronar then opened a channel with alien ship and the voice of alien was heard through the ships intercom.*
Alien ship: This is the Sth'Vol interdimensional frigate [Untranslatable hissing sound]. We have scanned your vessels, as well as those of your enemies. Said enemy vessels posses technology derived from one of our recent adversaries. Said vessels and all others using this technology are to be eliminated. Sirius: (puzzled by alien's message) I didn't realized we were jamming their sensors during our fight with Vaadwaur, or now for that matter.
*Daniel and Bronar bursted to laughter at that, while Scarlett smiled a bit, and T'Luminareth stayed indifferent*
Sirius: (smiling too) Well, apparently it seems we did, since they are requesting permission for another scan of our ships.
Daniel: (while trying to suppress laughter) Either way, they must have known until now that we are not having Vaadwaur technology onboard.
Sirius: (stops smiling) Yes, we don't, but if there is even a slightest chance that some of our technology might be similar or even the same as theirs, and if they fire at us, I'm willing to defend us, as well as the Umbra and Ranger too.
Lissan: There's no doubt about that sir, but I hope it will not come to that.
Sirius: Me too, but we'll see.
*Before Sirius could issue next order, Bronar interrupted him.*
Bronar: Captain, we have a call from Ranger and Umbra.
Sirius: On screen.
*It took only a few seconds before Bronar brought captain Taybourne and admiral Kran on Dragonstar's viewscreen. Taybourne was first to speak and the Kran's answer followed soon after.*
Kran: Scans seem to be impeded but I believe our new friend here may have some answers for us. Isn't that right Toh?
*Sirius addressed captain Taybourne first.*
Sirius: Hello captain Taybourne, it's good to see you! I'm captain Sirius Verax of the USS Dragonstar. Our alien friends seem a bit confused to me. They ask us to submit to their scan after they already scanned us. So I say we let them do that.
*Then he turns his attention towards admiral Kran Su and Dominar's captain Toh.*
Sirius: Hello to you too admiral! Yes, that is a good idea. Mr. Toh, it appears to me you know something about our guests so why don't you tell us little more about them, and why they are so eager in finding and destroying ships with Vaadwaur technology besides having the same as that of their recent enemies?

OOC: Ok, I think I have given him more than enough time. Lets just say that the dreadnought disappeared as quickly as it appeared and that we dropped Toh and his ship off at the nearest starbase. All three ships then return to the delta staging area. A three way hail between them begins.
Kran: As I'm sure you are aware Captains, we have been dispatched to explore the Cha'tok nebula. The nebula's borders are 4.8 by 6.3 by 7.2 light years long. Normally Starfleet would dispatch five or six science vessels on a two year mission to explore an area so large. Why we were the only ones sent is a question I cannot answer. However I can tell you that long range probes detected several spatial and temporal anomalies in the nebula. Are there any questions?
OOC: As a possible idea for one of the things in the nebula, how do you guys feel about crossovers?

OOC: Well I don't plan to use the main characters and since the Ancient tech is centuries old already, we can use all three. I am however working on a gate design specifically for this story. My idea was that the Ancients found this universe and needed to create a totally new gate system for it. Any ideas were I could post the image once it's done?

Captain's log, supplemental: The incident with Vaadwaur ended quite well I must admit. My ship received only a minor damage and the most important thing to mention is that there were no fatalities. Umbra and Ranger are also in good shape as I heard, and the Dominar has been successfully repaired, while her captain was dropped of at the nearest starbase.
Unfortunately our contact with an unknown vessel from other dimension ended abruptly. She just disappeared before we got any further response. I assume she returned to her original dimension, but how exactly, that's a mystery which will remain unresolved. At least for now I think. However we must now resume with our given assignment which will be further explained by admiral Kran as soon as we get back to the staging area. I only hope that we will not be harassed again by Vaadwaur or any other hostile race and that this will be from now on a peaceful exploration mission. We are all tired of constant firefights and wars, so we could definitely use some rest for a change.
After that Sirius said: Computer, save the log and end recording.
*Computer just beeped and notified Sirius that his log has been saved. Moment later, his commbadge chirped and a female voice could be heard through it.*
Lissan: Captain, we have arrived at coordinates and are being hailed by admiral Kran.
Sirius: Alright, I'll be on the bridge in a moment. Sirius out.
*As he ended communication, Sirius put back one the pads with various reports he took from the table and left his ready room.*
T'Luminareth: Captain on the bridge!
Sirius: (turning his head towards her while walking to his chair) At ease subcommander.
*When he settled down in his chair, Sirius issued order to Bronar sitting at his helm console.*
Sirius: Mr. Lukin, open the channel.
Bronar: (starts typing commands in console) Aye sir.
*Second later a view of starfield has been replaced with a face of Fleet Admiral Kran Su at Guardian's bridge.*
Kran: As I'm sure you are aware Captains, we have been dispatched to explore the Cha'tok nebula. The nebula's borders are 4.8 by 6.3 by 7.2 light years long. Normally Starfleet would dispatch five or six science vessels on a two year mission to explore an area so large. Why we were the only ones sent is a question I cannot answer. However I can tell you that long range probes detected several spatial and temporal anomalies in the nebula. Are there any questions?

OOC: That was quite the reading up I had to do. Was well written, would love to join in. As for the Stargate crossover, I don't have any issue with that, as long as we keep the level of details either not too difficult (been a while since I saw SG1, and only watched part of Atlantis), or unless you are okay with linking wiki pages to important details you want to use.
Ow, and on a side note, after this post it'll take me about 48 hours to reply again. Afterwards, I'll read up upon this thread at least once every 24h. /OOC
Nine: "Subspace messages have been succesfully intercepted, Commander. We have confirmation that the U.S.S. Umbra and U.S.S. Dragonstar are currently en route to the Cha'tok Nebula. U.S.S. Ranger expected to join this group any minute."
T'rela: "Interesting. I am wondering how these brave Starfleet captains will respond to what awaits them. At least they won't go all Klingon and blow up the structure at once, but what they will do? That is going to be very fascinating. Helm, lay in a course for the Cha'tok Nebula, warp 6. Maintain the cloak. I'll be in my ready room."
*The Mogai changed course and was moving in on the Cha'tok Nebula. Her cloak would proove to be incredible hard to break, and only when any vessel would be actively searching for them.
T'rela walked into her ready room, and began reading the information she had on the Starfleet Task Force. Three vessels, one still undergoing repairs. All equipped with modifications and small combat craft. Experienced commanders.*
T'rela: (thinking) "Another fleet filled with young and brave officers. Lets just hope they will not interfere with the operation currently going on in the Cha'tok Nebula. Ramek would be mad if the Raptor Star could not finish its initial scans. Ah well, nothing to worry about. Even the mightiest armed vessels in the Quadrant could be dealt a serious blow by the I.R.W. R'Kota's opening volley. Especially when they cannot see her coming."

The Umbra itself rotates to bring her starboard side to the Vaaduar. The Umbra then fires every phaser bank she has at the Vaaduar, hitting each one but only dealing miner damage. At the same time the Umbra launches seven shield generators from her aft torpedo bay. The generators attach themselves to the Dominar and produce a shield.
The Umbra then retracts her own shields and flies at full speed to the dreadnought. The Umbra then focuses her fire on the dreadnought and fires three neutronic torpedoes.
By this time, one of the assault cruisers had been destroyed by the Umbra's small craft. They then proceeded to the next one.*
Jack: Let's see if we can pull those cruisers off of the Umbra and Dragonstar, that will cut the fire they are taking by about 40%. I want shields and weapon up as soon as we drop back to normal space. Launch all fighters, have Delta help take down that deadnoughts shields and Scorpion focus on torpedoes and constriction anchors.
Helm: We are approaching the coordinates Captain.
Jack: Take us in.
* The Ranger dropped back to normal space in a flash of light. Immediately fighters launched from her forward hangar while a SAR shuttle took off from hanger two.*
Jack: Helm put our bow on that interdiction cruiser, full impulse. Attack pattern beta three. Stand by cannons scatter volley, and beam arrays to fire at will on my mark. Make that cruiser our primary target. Prepare forward torpedoes with a full spread of gravametics.
* As the crew prepared Jack watched the Ranger closed on the Vaadwaur ships battling with the Umbra and Dragonstar. A couple of the cruisers fired at Ranger to little effect.*
Cilly: Forward shields at 97%.
*once the interdiction cruiser, two others and the deadnought was in weapons range.*
Jack: Fire. Helm 1/4 impulse.
* the Ranger's quad and dual heavy cannon fired a shotgun pattern into the Vaadwaur ships as the beam arrays flashed orange lines across space. Jack kept an eye on the data of the cruiser's shields, waiting for them to dropped to 20%.
Jack: Beam overload on that cruiser, fire torpedoes.
*24 torpedoes jumped from Ranger toward two of the cruisers, the deadnought, and one of the battleships. Jack noted the Delta's firing tachyon beams into the deadnought and a couple of Scorpions shooting down a tricobalt torpedoe. The overloaded phaser beam discharged collapsed the cruisers shields closely followed by the torpedoes and the Borg cutting beam.*
Jack: Helm, hard to port, full impulse. Aft torpedoes full spread neutronics on the deadnought. Fire when ready.
* Ranger turned away from the cruiser as it explodes. Six quantum torpedoes from her aft launcher speed into the Vaadwaur ships.*
Cilly: INCOMING CANNON BARRAGE.
Jack: evasive action ALL HANDS BRACE FOR IMPACT.
*Ranger shook under the enemy fire.*
Shelana: aft shields down to 48%, structural integrity down to 87%.
Toechena: Damge control teams responding.
Jack: Balance the shields and devert emergency power to shields. Focus fire on the closest cruiser. Attack pattern alpha.
Foabyngoa: We lost three fighters in that barrage.

*Umbra, Ranger and their small craft done tremendous job destroying two of Vaadwaur cruisers and damaging the other ships including that dreadnought Dragonstar had the trouble with. In the meantime Dragonstar's helm officer managed to pull her so she would face the port side of that dreadnought*
T'Luminareth: Dreadnought's primary shields are at 10% and their secondary are at 40%. (she said that right after another volley of beam/torpedo fire from Umbra stricken dreadnought's shields)
Sirius: Great! That is our chance. Execute attack pattern Sirius omega now!
T'Luminareth and Bronar (at the same time): Yes sir!
*At that moment, T'Luminareth opened heavy fire from all foward phaser arrays, torpedo launchers and pulse phaser turrets towards the dreadnought. And in the meantime, Bronar started moving Dragonstar in position beneath her by half of impulse speed.*
Sirius: Alright, overload both spinal lance cannons and fire at my mark.
*He said that as Dragonstar was getting closer to the dreadnought while T'Luminareth has been still firing a heavy barrage of combined beam/turret/torpedo fire at her.*
Sirius: (yells) Now! Fire spinal lances!
*Right before Dragonstar divided beneath the dreadnought from both spinal lance cannons erupted large orange beams with slammed at the dreadnoughts shields and hull so hard, that they left deep scars on her hull.*
T'Luminareth: Target's primary shields have failed and secondary are at 10%. They have also multiple hull breaches.
Sirius: Nicely done! As soon as our aft facing weapons are in arc fire all torpedoes and arrays at that dreadnought again. I want it dead as soon as possible.
*Meanwhile, dreadnought fired its beams all the time at all ships including Dragonstar, but it couldn't turn fast enough to launch torpedoes from foward or aft launchers at her. At the same time Dragonstar's fighters overwhelmed and finnaly destroyed the third cruiser and after that they attacked one of Vaadwaur battleships in cooperation with Umbra and Ranger's small craft. Several of them have been lost in process.*

OOC: I'm surprised no one made a comment about the Umbra having Timeships. Oh well.
*The Umbra was now within three kilometers of the dreadnought. She fired all of her facing phaser arrays at once, breaking through the last of the dreadnought's shields.
As she passed the dreadnought, she fired a neutronic torpedo at one of the dreadnought's nacelles. The explosion ignited the warp plasma in the dreadnought setting off a chain reaction that destroyed the entire ship.
The Umbra then began chasing down one of the battleships.*
Alien ship: All vessels will cease hostilities or be destroyed. Disarm your weapons and lower your shielding immediately.
OOC: I researched your ship a bit. You do realize that lasers can't penetrate a starship's navigational shielding right?
*One of the Vaaduar vessels breaks off from combat and flies to the new ship. It scans the dreadnought and after finding out that it is only armed with lasers, simply returns to the fight.*
Kran: Hail that ship!
Comms officer: Channel open sir.
Kran: Unidentified vessel, this is Fleet Admiral Kran Su of the Federation Starship Umbra. You have enter- *The whole image shakes as the Umbra is hit by a torpedo.* -You have entered an area under the control of the Delta Alliance. You have no authority here. If we were to obey your command we would be destroyed by the Vaaduar. I cannot comply.
*As Kran says this the remaining assault cruisers are destroyed, leaving only the two battleships.*
Jack: Helm, close to point blank range. Prepare a high yield gravametic on the forward tubes. Lets finish this.
Shelana: *evil grin* Yes. If we don't hurry there won't be any battleships left.
*Ranger poured fire from her beams and cannons into the side of the cruiser till they were dangerously close.*
Jack: Fire torpedo. Helm, hard to starboard, bring us around on those battleships. Target both of them. FIRE ALL.
*Ranger turned away from the cruiser as a gravimetric rift engulfed it. The additional hull stress is to much for it and causes a core breach. Jack noted the last cruiser being swarm by the small craft from the three Federation ships.*
Jack: Inform Scorpion that I want high yield torpedoes on all shield collapses.
*the two battleships soon came under fire from Ranger's cannons, beam arrays and spreads of torpedoes.*
Nizure: Captain, a rift is opening, a ship is coming through.
Jack: Nizure scan them get me some info.
OOC: oops. The alien transmission should have been between Nizure and Jack there at the end.

OOC: Guess I'll take care of the rest of the Vaaduar.
*The Umbra flies along side the Ranger focusing her fire on one of the battleships. As soon as the battleship's shields fail the Umbra and Ranger fire a salvo of torpedoes destroying it. The second battleship is soon destroyed in a similar fashion.
After the battle, the Umbra's small craft return. The Umbra drops her shields and flies to a position 20 kilometers from the alien dreadnought.*
Kran: Hail them.
Comms Officer: Channel open.
Kran: This is the USS Umbra. Please understand, there was nothing we could do. Had we stopped fighting the Vaaduar would have destroyed us. I have a duty to my ship and crew. I cannot allow anyone to destroy us. The fact that the Vaaduar had to be destroyed is regrettable, but there was no alternative. Now, what is it you wanted? Oh, and welcome to this sector!
OOC: The Dragonstar and Ranger are free to choose how they react to the alien dreadnought. Also, after studying this ship a bit more, the plasma weapons it has may be somewhat of a problem.
Jack: Helm position us off to the side of the Umbra facing the alien. Tactical, defensive posture, keep shields up and weapons ready, but do not target them. Lower the aft shields as necessary to recover our fighters and shuttles.
*Ranger takes up a defensive position a couple kilometers to the side of the Umbra and recalls it small craft*

*A combined tactical assault from all 3 Federation ships and their support crafts have destroyed the remaining Vaadwaur ships. Dragonstar dropped her aft shields so she could retrieve her fighters of which 2 were destroyed and 3 of them were damaged. One of the fighters was pulled in with Dragonstar's aft tractor beam emitter, due to a damaged impulse engines.*
Sirius: (turning towards his main engineering officer) Chief, I want full status and damage report?
Daniel: (while checking systems at his console) Our shields are at 40 percent and regenerating and our hull has been barely scratched. There's been only hull breach at deck 12, sections 27 through 30. Both warp and impulse engines are fully operational, as well as our sensors. We have one damaged pulse phaser turret and two phaser arrays. All other weaponry is fully functional and the power levels are returning to normal. My teams are already on their way to repair damaged system.
Sirius: That's very good. (than he calls doctor by his communicator) Mrs. Keller, do we have any casualties?
Ashley: We have six injured and luckily no mortal causalities so far.
Sirius: Excellent! Sirius out. (then he looks at his helm officer) Now let's see what that alien ships needs. Mr. Lukin, please take us in formation with Umbra and Ranger and hail the alien ship.
*As he said that Bronar started guiding Dragonstar closer to the Umbra and Ranger, while at the same time he was trying to open communications channel with unknown alien dreadnought.*
Bronar: (after a few seconds) Hailing frequency is open sir.
Sirius: This is captain Sirius Verax of the Federation starship USS Dragonstar. We were unable to fulfill your request, because otherwise we would have been destroyed by Vaadwaur ships. However, we are not the once that were asking for this conflict, but we have right to defend ourselves when necessary. I hope you will understand that we had no other choice and that we wish you no harm. Right the opposite, on the behalf of United Federation of Planets I wish you welcome to this sector, and I'm offering assistance if needed. Thank you for your understanding, we hope to hear from you soon. Sirius out.

Said enemy vessels posses technology derived from one of our recent adversaries. Said vessels and all others using this technology are to be eliminated. You will submit to a scan to determine if you have been contaminated.
*The alien ship sits there, occasionally rippling as it discharged another pulse of dimensional feedback*
Toh: Admiral, if you care to listen to me, you should do what they say. I've encountered them before, and as long as the Sth'Vol don't detect anything made by what you call Iconians on this ship they'll leave you alone. And don't try and attack them either. They won't like that.
Jack: they scaned us but want to scan us? all right. Has somebody been messing with the universal traslator? *looks at Shelana*
Nizure: the universal translator is working correctlly. their language may be to new or complex for it yet.
*Jack and Shelana look at her, realizing she missed the joke Niure goes back to her console.*
Nizure: scans are inconcluseive. there is some sort of dimensional distorsion.
Jack: ok. Toechena, hail Umbar and Dragonstar. get both on screen so we all can talk.

*Meanwhile, Sirius heard the voice of his helmsman.*
Bronar: Captain, the alien ship is responding.
Sirius: (with an expression of relief on his face) Good. Let's hear what they have to say.
*Bronar then opened a channel with alien ship and the voice of alien was heard through the ships intercom.*
Sirius: (puzzled by alien's message) I didn't realized we were jamming their sensors during our fight with Vaadwaur, or now for that matter.
*Daniel and Bronar bursted to laughter at that, while Scarlett smiled a bit, and T'Luminareth stayed indifferent*
Sirius: (smiling too) Well, apparently it seems we did, since they are requesting permission for another scan of our ships.
Daniel: (while trying to suppress laughter) Either way, they must have known until now that we are not having Vaadwaur technology onboard.
Sirius: (stops smiling) Yes, we don't, but if there is even a slightest chance that some of our technology might be similar or even the same as theirs, and if they fire at us, I'm willing to defend us, as well as the Umbra and Ranger too.
Lissan: There's no doubt about that sir, but I hope it will not come to that.
Sirius: Me too, but we'll see.
*Before Sirius could issue next order, Bronar interrupted him.*
Bronar: Captain, we have a call from Ranger and Umbra.
Sirius: On screen.
*It took only a few seconds before Bronar brought captain Taybourne and admiral Kran on Dragonstar's viewscreen. Taybourne was first to speak and the Kran's answer followed soon after.*
*Sirius addressed captain Taybourne first.*
Sirius: Hello captain Taybourne, it's good to see you! I'm captain Sirius Verax of the USS Dragonstar. Our alien friends seem a bit confused to me. They ask us to submit to their scan after they already scanned us. So I say we let them do that.
*Then he turns his attention towards admiral Kran Su and Dominar's captain Toh.*
Sirius: Hello to you too admiral! Yes, that is a good idea. Mr. Toh, it appears to me you know something about our guests so why don't you tell us little more about them, and why they are so eager in finding and destroying ships with Vaadwaur technology besides having the same as that of their recent enemies?

Kran: As I'm sure you are aware Captains, we have been dispatched to explore the Cha'tok nebula. The nebula's borders are 4.8 by 6.3 by 7.2 light years long. Normally Starfleet would dispatch five or six science vessels on a two year mission to explore an area so large. Why we were the only ones sent is a question I cannot answer. However I can tell you that long range probes detected several spatial and temporal anomalies in the nebula. Are there any questions?
OOC: As a possible idea for one of the things in the nebula, how do you guys feel about crossovers?

OOC: Well I don't plan to use the main characters and since the Ancient tech is centuries old already, we can use all three. I am however working on a gate design specifically for this story. My idea was that the Ancients found this universe and needed to create a totally new gate system for it. Any ideas were I could post the image once it's done?
OOC: That's ok, however I hope will be able to use at least some of the main characters if not all. I'm sure my captain would like very much to meet with Jennifer Keller
Captain's log, supplemental: The incident with Vaadwaur ended quite well I must admit. My ship received only a minor damage and the most important thing to mention is that there were no fatalities. Umbra and Ranger are also in good shape as I heard, and the Dominar has been successfully repaired, while her captain was dropped of at the nearest starbase.
Unfortunately our contact with an unknown vessel from other dimension ended abruptly. She just disappeared before we got any further response. I assume she returned to her original dimension, but how exactly, that's a mystery which will remain unresolved. At least for now I think. However we must now resume with our given assignment which will be further explained by admiral Kran as soon as we get back to the staging area. I only hope that we will not be harassed again by Vaadwaur or any other hostile race and that this will be from now on a peaceful exploration mission. We are all tired of constant firefights and wars, so we could definitely use some rest for a change.
After that Sirius said: Computer, save the log and end recording.
*Computer just beeped and notified Sirius that his log has been saved. Moment later, his commbadge chirped and a female voice could be heard through it.*
Lissan: Captain, we have arrived at coordinates and are being hailed by admiral Kran.
Sirius: Alright, I'll be on the bridge in a moment. Sirius out.
*As he ended communication, Sirius put back one the pads with various reports he took from the table and left his ready room.*
T'Luminareth: Captain on the bridge!
Sirius: (turning his head towards her while walking to his chair) At ease subcommander.
*When he settled down in his chair, Sirius issued order to Bronar sitting at his helm console.*
Sirius: Mr. Lukin, open the channel.

*Second later a view of starfield has been replaced with a face of Fleet Admiral Kran Su at Guardian's bridge.*

Sirius was the first to reply: Well, we could always ask for reinforcements, but I'm pretty sure we will be able to handle it on our own. We have some of the finest ships and crews here, and I'm confident that we will accomplish this mission successfully no matter how long it takes. Besides, me and my crew are looking forward to some exploration after all those battles we were involved with for the past two years or so.
M'Toui: (suddenly interrupts him with his sharp Klingon voice) Speak for yourself captain.
Sirius: (turns towards him and gives him an angry sarcastic look) Very funny lieutenant. (then he resumes talking to admiral Kran) Anyway, you have my crew and my ship at disposal and whatever those anomalies are, I'm sure we will find out.
*Sirius and his bridge officers are awaiting for response.*

Kran: I am sure that we can handle the mission. It's just strange that Starfleet is not following standard protocol. I-
Ellen: I'm sorry to interrupt sir but you should see this.
*Ellen hands Kran a PADD which he looks over. With an obvious look of concern on his face he looks back at the viewscreen.*
Kran: Captains, please join me in the conference room of the Umbra.
*The channel closes and Kran gets up and heads to the conference room.*
Kran: Ellie, please meet the Captains in the transporter room.
Ellen: Yes, sir. Does that PADD mean what I think it means?
Kran: I'm afraid so.
*With that Kran left the bridge.*

Nine: "Subspace messages have been succesfully intercepted, Commander. We have confirmation that the U.S.S. Umbra and U.S.S. Dragonstar are currently en route to the Cha'tok Nebula. U.S.S. Ranger expected to join this group any minute."
T'rela: "Interesting. I am wondering how these brave Starfleet captains will respond to what awaits them. At least they won't go all Klingon and blow up the structure at once, but what they will do? That is going to be very fascinating. Helm, lay in a course for the Cha'tok Nebula, warp 6. Maintain the cloak. I'll be in my ready room."
*The Mogai changed course and was moving in on the Cha'tok Nebula. Her cloak would proove to be incredible hard to break, and only when any vessel would be actively searching for them.
T'rela walked into her ready room, and began reading the information she had on the Starfleet Task Force. Three vessels, one still undergoing repairs. All equipped with modifications and small combat craft. Experienced commanders.*
T'rela: (thinking) "Another fleet filled with young and brave officers. Lets just hope they will not interfere with the operation currently going on in the Cha'tok Nebula. Ramek would be mad if the Raptor Star could not finish its initial scans. Ah well, nothing to worry about. Even the mightiest armed vessels in the Quadrant could be dealt a serious blow by the I.R.W. R'Kota's opening volley. Especially when they cannot see her coming."
OOC: Considering I'll be away from forums for about 48 hours, just keep my ship cloaked and uncontacted. I am here and am going to participate, but right now, I'm not a known element for any of your characters.
