It took more than a few tries but we finally scraped a win by the skin of our teeth. There where a few more tactics we could have possible tried to make things easier; but we had a big Tribble cheat helping us out:
Intel, Command, and Pilot are all active as Primary specs on TTS.

Porch, SOB, #s, Alphie, Sarc(myself)

What is sad is that this is a pure dps (mega dps) map on Elite--in it's current form. Sci & Eng need not apply. . . . There is really nothing you can do as the timer will not let you lend to the team.

People ask for challenging content all the time.
They shouldn't complain when they get it.
They'll just have to suck it up and play with the hoi polloi down on Normal and not get any meaningful rewards from it.
What is the point of your comment? Who is asking aside from these 20 people?

While not worded quite so succinctly, the usual response to a complaint that Advanced or Elite is too difficult is "l2p noob, I face roll it in 2 nanoseconds, lol". In other words, there are a lot of Icaruses out there that need a sun to melt their wings.
Now that's an elite!
They might do some more adjusting but, it is what I would expect from an elite, to be a challenge to elite player's such as yourselves.

It comes in Normal, Advanced, and Elite difficulties. For the Elite in it's current state... i doubt that there are 20 people who would be able to complete it.
That being said, there are probably some alternative tactics and builds that could be used that might make it easier. For example: it's hard to see in this vid but SOB and myself where dropping GravWells, Porch, #s and Alphie where popping web breakers during phase 3. We where also coordinating on TS for our buffs and targets.
Just like HSE was unbeatable when DR was released; and it took a long while for us to figure it out, we eventually where able to complete it with 3 people. This could very well be the case with GoGE.
So you are advocating that this mission should be for maybe 200 people or less on elite and maybe 1000 on advanced? That's real good for the game.

Content gets provided for a variety of folks...people enjoy the game...revenue flows. Good stuff, yeah?
Let them have their unbeatable elite chew toy, it might distract them long enough for Advanced to remain accessible for everyone else.
To me IMO, elite would be better suited by the name, epic.
But, elite works.
Guess at some point, they could have 4 difficulties, like some games.
Heck, DDO uses 6 total.
Of course, they are a sort of re-hash of each other.

What he said. The last time I saw this much QQ on a forum was probably BF4 release. Elite. What part of elite do you not understand, the part where only an elite few can do it?
The "higher ups" (term used loosely) need to try and show their skills, to try and feel superior in a broken game like STO. It basically comes down to their arrogance. If you've seen the chatter that goes on in the higher up channels, you'd realise they are not the best bunch of people. Most people I know just tend to laugh at them.
It was 5 tacts. And why is everyone getting their panties in a wad? The elite version ON TRIBBLE is way too difficult for 99.99% of player base. It a pure DPS map now. Cryptic is clearly moving in the wrong direction. This map will get as much play as HIVE elite will.
We are not ******** about the map that is on Tribble and still to be tweaked. We are frustrated that every new stf simply moves the hp slider to make it Elite. Which is incredibly boring and becomes yet another FAW fest.
We would love to see content where the "game mechanics" would force a proper team. For example an Engineer would be able to actually TANK while maintaining aggro--this is currently not possible as the high dps ships grab agro from Eng tank. Furthermore, there should be some ability where a sci captain has to use a sci ability to "strip, disable, or something along that line" to ALLOW the tact captains to attack. Meaning, the tact captains would not be able to quickly kill boss or whatever until the sci captain uses abilities to effectively cripple the enemy. All-the-while the tank is healing and taking agro. That would be fun and would require great co-ordination.
But why release content that less the 20 people in the entire game can beat? What is the point of that? Why make an insta-fail random queue map?

Cryptic wants to motivate them to buy things to improve their build so they too can be "elite".
New "elite super challenge" content released.... new "even more powerful" ships soon follow.
Surely there has to be a better way to monetize this game... The DPS race is getting old.

No, we simply laugh at comments like this--so much animosity. You really have a lot of pent up resentment towards people that you should really let go of. It is not healthy. And, the elephant staring you in the face is that ALL of the channels are optional. If it is not your gig, that is ok. You do not have to participate. But to constantly qq in the forums really shows a level of immaturity.
And by higher up channels, which ones are you referring to? I am pretty sure you have never seen any chatter in 50k, 75k, prime, etc. They are actually policed quite well.
So, if the dps league and channels truly mean nothing to you, then move along. If you are indifferent to them then you would not make comments anywhere because why would you feel the need to comment on something you care nothing about? But by making comments, you show that you have some twisted anger towards the league and channels. So much so, that you actually have to make comments about them.

It's to force more rage upgrades in the waning months of the game. From what I understand they will finish up with season 11 to celebrate the 50th anniversary early next year. So at least I will get to enjoy another Risa and Q's.
And for those who keep saying people should play normal... Few will do so. They will simply not play. They may play advanced. There's sort of a decent vibe with advanced - as in you're not completely wasting your time loser. Cryptic needs to focus on making a lively advanced with each mission having around a 60% pug success rate - whatever it takes to make that happen.
The only content that should be made for the top 1% is pvp. That is where the gamers are meant to game and shine. I still say the rage upgrade whale model for this game is not working and will not work. I sure do hope to be wrong.

Up until the point that you have spent 20mins "LF1SCI" or join a PUG of 4 tacs and 1 eng...
Requiring specific team builds isn't the answer...
Now requiring players to perform specific objectives not directly related to their player class wouldn't be a bad idea. It could allow for any mix of players but still provide something new, requiring individual contributions in order to complete the mission. Something more than everyone simply trying to melt targets as fast as possible.
But please for the love of all that is good, something better than the 3 consoles in Infected Ground... "all together now... CLICK!" is not coordinated team effort LOL :P

Here's an opportunity for those DPS folks and the Everyman to come together to tell Cryptic that it needs to be toned down, and the DPS folks are there leading that charge - but the Butthurt Brigade decided to come out in full force instead and just fling poo...
...it's freaking sickening at times.
I'd love a big furball of a mission. I like big, flashy messy fights. But it's bloody frustrating as hell when so much of the game is blocked off because it's all DPS-gates all the time, and the league is seen as a symptom and contributor of that problem. Being able to get 70,000+ DPS when most of us are trudging along at maybe 5,000, and then feeling like everything is being built to accomidate the 70,000+ tactical monsters but leaving the rest of us behind?
Kinda blows.
Agreed, Cryptic would need to have a queue matching system that would match classes for a run, but I also understand that would damn near be impossible to accomplish. It is a weird trap and maybe public queues are what is actually killing this game. To be fair, the channels mostly only form games from within and not too many use the public queues. Thus those in the public queues tend to be newer players or those who are not interested in dps. I, on the other hand, constantly do public queues as they actually present me with a little bit of a challenge by making me play differently. It gets boring sometimes smashing stfs, so public queues offer some relief. But, then again, a crazy high dps run every so often is a sight to behold--everyone on the same page and co-coordinating abilities, etc. They are fun to watch, and even more fun to participate in. But as all things tend to do, get boring if that is all you do. So I mix it up.

Well, they along with sooooooo many other's, have provided tons of information, to easily obtain more than that 5k dps.
It's just people don't bother, to even use it most often.

The problem is when you're flying what should be a solid build because the game tells you how to put it together, and it's considered subpar because it does such silly things as use cannons on a Defiant or put tactical consoles in tactical slots or doesn't plasma dope.
