I am overjoyed that this is going down so soon. This one little tidbit from Salami as had me drooling in anticipation. I'm itching to get in just to see it. It will be an honor and a privilege to test this out. How big is this sucker anyway?

I know this was a question in the other thread, but I think that having the Sol System in both the Alpha and Beta Quadrants would be acceptable. And an exit prompt to either or like in the Battle Group Omega fleet massing would work nicely.

EDIT: Update. Alright full patched. It only took up an additional 300 MBs, so overall an excellent patch.

So far it looks nice, especially the rescaling thing.
I'm wondering what will happen to the Borg sector alerts though? There's a lot of accolades related to those missions and even a title ('This far, no further' if I'm not mistaken?).

I hope these will all still be available.
They will be, DSEs are getting revamped, but will still be there as well.
Okay that FOV shift in sector space is probably going to make people...queasy. Especially when going in and out between sector space and normal space. @_#

Other than that, it's looking pretty good so far.
you can manualy reset it with /gfxsetdefaultfov 55 or 0 (55 is the standard they use)
I got to test on Tribble a bit, and I noticed a few things.
-the travel seems much slower than on holo deck. I'm not sure if travel rates are slower or systems are further apart, but it dragged on to get from place to place.
-it's hard to tell where things are because zooming out does not seem to go far enough
-Sol system only has eight planetary orbits. Pluto is sad.
It seems like the warp streaks aren't actually hooked up in several sectors.
Every time I cross a sector border the sound effects cuts out. Specifically of the Asynchronous Warp Field.
I haven't tried it on other characters yet, but will the restrictions on entering other faction core space still on? There was no notice when my diplomat character entered Klingon space. It's interesting that warping to a system sends you directly to the star instead of the relevant planet, if that can be tweaked it would be great.

That's weird to me it felt faster even without my Transwarp MACO engines. But yes the systems actually are further apart. Closer to their real world distances.
Yeah the max zoom is set closer in. I'm a little sad about that as I want to be able to see more. On the other hand, I like that I can zoom in closer to my beautiful ship.

Please.... PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE.... check this out on the Mac version as well!!!!
THE WALLS have finally come down..
Will be checking this out later tonight!!!!
Kudoz to the dev team!!!
Nearly three gigs with ODP turned on.
I run Win 7 64-bit and loading Tribble crashed my graphics driver. And itself.
I'm cool with that.
Without On Demand, it's 6.622 GB.
But I expect there's a LOT of overwriting.

Yep. Good thing is, it still looks great with the default fov.
However, I noticed this affects doff science and exploration missions. Do we have to manually scan for R&D compnents now?
"You seem to have gotten some of your blood in my raktajino. This is unfortunate."
There are flying comets and derelict spaceships (and many other things)now that hide resources in sectorspace
Lol, 2860 Mb patch
Redshirt is up so give it at least a month.
Ah ok thanks.
Been zipping around from one corner of SecSpace and I hain't seen a thing like that. I is so confussed.

This sounds awesome,

My overall impression though...so beautiful.
They were going off. I didn't enter any of them, but they were there.
