This is situational, power drain resistance helps but Obelisk is final damage so 10% Obelisk Ap (if your ship is able to maintain 125 w. power) is higher than 12% AMP (and 4x75 power level can be hard to achieve). There is redit article about AMP bonus somewhere and AMP isn't final damage bonus, it's somewhere in between cat 1 and 2 bonuses.

Yep. And again, the ob core with minimal engine power for pedal 2 the metal bonus so you fly slower is much easier to control than going at warp 23 with 90 engine power feeding a fast engine in a fast escort ... Ill argue all day that for many situations the ob core is more dps. Its less effective, sure ... lower shield power, lower aux power, blah blah but actual damage? Keeping those guns on the target at full throttle works. Flying past and turning around is a huge dps loss. Of course beam arrays solve the problem ... but do like 15% less damage. And the borg is its own worst enemy now lol. I WANT YOU TO TRACTOR BEAM ME. PLEASE. Let me sit there going 0 with full throttle bonus at 2 km ... oh yea. DIE! These people that break outta tractor beams ... I don't get it.

One thing that jumps out at me:
    ACTIVE SPACE DUTY OFFICERS
    **ZEMOK JENRO**
    Conn Officer (Tactical DOFF)

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned this guy yet.

Because of that duty officer, I would swap to the following tactical seating:

    TT1, APB1

    FAW1, FAW2, APO3

    TT1

Cycle the APO3 and FAW2 together, and the FAW1 and APB1 together.

    ---

One other thing is to move the KCB to the far right spot in the back. This will make it drain weapons power last, giving your higher-dps weapons more weapon power to fire with.

I would also make some suggestions about your skill tree and reputation traits, if you're interested.

Outside of that, you've clearly gotten some good advice in this thread. That is a solid ship build you currently have linked.
    SCM - Crystal C. (S) - [00:12] DMG(DPS) - @jarvisandalfred: 8.63M(713.16K) - Fed Sci

    SCM - Hive (S) - [02:31] DMG(DPS) - @jarvisandalfred: 30.62M(204.66K) - Fed Sci

    Tacs are overrated.

Thank you for the suggestions Commander Jarvisandalfred and made the changes that you suggested. I see that you suggested FAW1, FAW2, APO3 for the Bridge Officer Stations but I can only train my guy the APO1. I thought you can train the APO3 in the Commander Bridge Officer Station and not the Lt. Commander Bridge Officer Station??? Is there a way to possibly train the BOFF the APO3 in the Lt. Commander Bridge Officer Station??? Love to learn how to do that detail...

One other thing is to move the KCB to the far right spot in the back. This will make it drain weapons power last, giving your higher-dps weapons more weapon power to fire with.

Another question is the positioning of the KCB to the right spot in the Aft weapons. You mentioned on the above quote that it lowers the drain weapons power. How is that possible??? Sorry for the technical question but just curious about the dynamics of this change.

I would also make some suggestions about your skill tree and reputation traits, if you're interested.

Any suggestions on how to improve the Skill Tree and Traits are always welcomed. I am still trying to grasp the dynamics of the Skill Tree and now they throw the Traits and that just make the details of this game become more... detailed... But that is the fun part of STO, it makes the learning process almost never ending and build a ship that would rival a very well and finely tuned DINAN BMW M3 Series...

    Transamerica,

Man you are getting there. A couple of things that I noticed on your build. Some of these are expensive so apologies.

    1. You have no Starship traits listed. Here are my suggestions.

Reciprocity: When an enemy misses you in combat you have all of your Tactical and Intelligence bridge officer ability recharge times reduced slightly. This reduction can happen every few seconds and it cannot reduce an ability's recharge time below it's group cooldown. This is bed rock starship trait that everyone is using. Only way to get it is to buy the Phantom for 3000 zen. However, the Phantom is a completely viable ship for DPS with Surgical Strikes III.

All Hands on Deck: While this trait is slotted, activating a Tactical or Command Bridge Officer ability will reduce the recharge time of Science Bridge Officer and Captain abilities. So what this does is that you now have alpha strike down to 60 seconds or less cool down and 2 TFs per ISA run instead of 1. It also makes particle gen builds a monster but that is another topic. (I am building a freaky TAC/Sci hybrid to get around the friggen Cryptic nerfs.) Again this is a 3000 zen trait.

Supremacy: While this starship trait is slotted, activating Beam: Fire At Will or Cannon: Scatter Volley will provide a small boost to all subsystem power levels per target hit for a short time as long as these attack modes are active. This bonus stacks up to 20 times. This is an extra plasmic Leach. This is a 110 million ec trait because you need to buy the Vadwaur Asrika.

Pedal to the Medal or Predictive Algorithms: Increases damage when throttle is a full speed. Grind to 15 in Pilot or Intelligence trees.

    2. Captain's Traits

Inspirational Leader: 10% chance: Activating any Bridge Officer Ability grants +10 to all Starship Skills for 15 seconds (may stack up to 3 times).

Anchored: While Stationary, gain 1 stack of “Anchored” every 5 sec (4 stacks max)
Per Stack of Anchored, +5% All Damage Bonus and -5 All Damage Resistance Rating. You see how it works with Pedal to Metal. You are always getting a Damage Bonus whether you are moving or not :)

Positive Feedback Loop: Activating any Exotic Damage ability grants you a 10% increase to Hull and Shield Healing effectiveness. Activating any Hull or Shield Heal grants you a 10% Bonus to Exotic Damage. Each effect is mutually exclusive. This is for my freaky sci/tac hybrid.

Helsman: This is merely used by the high end players to get to the spots faster in ISA. In high dps groups, there is more dps than targets in some STFs.

    3. Intelligence Tree.

Space Flanking: This is where positioning comes to play. You hit the front of the transformers in ISA. Front of the gate in ISA. Back of the TAC cube. Watch RyanSTO's youtube videos for the locations. You know that you are getting flanking damage because you will see flank above the damage counter.

Thank you very much for the warm complement Lt. Commander Amaresh1 This is what I like to do in my spare time (if any) and I like this game. It is a great hobby to have... Sometimes hobbies cost money so I do not mind that, it is the enjoyment I get when I get to build and experiment... I think that is the greatest asset this game brings to bring thousands of hours of fun, comradery and learning...

I have not being involved too much in the Starship Traits. As I mentioned before, I am still grasping the dynamics and the know how of the Skill Tree and Traits. I know that this is an important Section to learn and apply to build a better ship. I tried it for a minute but could not understand it well. It is expensive but I do not mind paying the price to obtaining these items, either through ZEN, EC's, or grinding it out to acquire these items... Heck I do not even know how to install them or make them available, but I know I will get it soon...

I am currently grinding it out to get the necessary EC's to buy these Captain Traits. Some of the one you mentioned go as high as 70, 80 or 100 million EC's so it will take some time in acquiring these traits... I have the Helmsman Trait just working on the rest for now...

Admiral Ezri Ryan's You Tube channel has help hundreds of people... I tell you, I do not how he does the things that he does but it is nothing short of amazing. Such a technical guy...

Once again , thank you for your input Lt. Commander Amaresh1 i will keep on working on this build and on Admiral Edalgo's challenge to reach the 50K DPS mark.

I'll tell you that lately I haven't been able to break 22k DPS due to all the lag...my ship keeps doing the Moonwalk every 5-10 seconds and I can't keep the weapons constantly firing as well.

    In a good group yesterday, voice comms with 2 30kers, 1 75ker, Me <--50ker and a 10ker I couldn't break 16k and the 75ker didn't break 22k in ISA.

They all said I looked pretty ridiculous jumping all over the place, abilities not activating until I clicked for the 5th time.

The game is such a mess right now.

Didn't I tell you so Admiral Edalgo... This has been happening for more than a week... Ever since last weeks update, things have gone awry on the entirety of the game...

The nerfed the pen trait after this last patch and plasma doping. I suspect that they did a general nerf because I am struggling to get my numbers evens without dopping and the pen. So everyones numbers are are down and the lag is nasty. So I can't even get good measurements. To be honest, the best thing to do at this point is spend no EC, money, zen, or upgrades at this point. The smart thing is to put you STO playing on hold for 1 month. Enjoy your life off the server. Whatever you buy would be not rational at this point. Let the player base sort out what works and what does not work any more and then spend the resources. To be honest, I am thinking about taking a 1 or 2 month break because my DPS has gone down by quite a bit and I have little appetite to spend the time to get back up to where I was.

    Yes you did.

I logged in to take advantage of XP weekend and after that ISA I logged out and got going on Fractured Space, 5v5 Space MOBA game still in Beta but fun. That ran smoothly.

Until these bugs are fixed I won't be trying to be competitive in STO.

I think I will be doing the same for a minute or two and too bad because I just acquired Reciprocity Trait...

I bought that wanna be modern Defiant Class to get that trait, that ship can do some serious damage but it blows up like 7 to 8 times per game... Not worth to have on my Starship Dock...

We must stick to the basics in my opinion...

    Transamerica,

Ok so I feel better, I got my first 50k dps+ parse ISA last night and I even had a nasty death so I feel a bit better. The lag is messing with everyone's numbers. Here are some other things.

Dual Beam Banks: I am seeing a ton of known top guys using Antiproton dual beam banks and Scimitars. If you are doing PVE, you need epic CrTdx4 or the Crtdx3 Pens. The problem is that the Crtdx4 will run you about 150 million per beam and the Crtdx3 Pens will run you around 99 million EC. (Drop me an email in game and I will tell you how to build your own for much less cost.) Don't waste resources on anything else. Store the DMG.x3 because I hear a buff might be coming soon to that. Store the crtd x2 [Over]'s as well.

I am messing around with the Presidio, Asrika, and the Manasa ships. I will let you know what I find.

Also, you have to get onto the 30k dps channel, 50k dps channel, and if you get a good parse the 75k dps channel. You will learn a ton talking to the players on those channels.

The next build that I think everyone is going to be ******** about is the particle gen build. Some details on forums, but I have not figured it out yet. I have most of the pieces, the problem is that I am not getting the numbers with it yet.

Great news to hear that you passed the 50k DPS Mark Lt. Commander Amaresh1!!! Even with the nerfing and other changes that this game has gone through, you still accomplished and very high mark and goal so a congratulatory and commendation letter is in order (and maybe a promotion to Commander...) Admiral Edalgo has been helping me and challenging me to strive for that 50k DPS Mark so I will keep on striving... Just to let you know Lt. Commander Amaresh1, I am a member of the 30k DPS channel, I can definetly find good groups to help me out in this matter...

Now about the recommendations you suggested from the post above, so far I have acquired the Phantom (took advantage of the discount since it was on sale last week) and acquired the Reciprocity Trait. While flying the Phantom to gain the trait, I notice that this little ship has some incredible power and damage capabilities but it blows up on me every five minutes and it just became annoying so I dropped the thing like a bad habit and went back to my cruiser.

I also have acquired Anchored, Positive Feedback Loop, Helmsman (had it already) and Inspirational Leader Traits (found it for 80M EC's) so far I have not taken advantage of their functionality because I am working on acquiring other items. Will keep you posted on the results.

I am currently working of getting the Pedal to the Metal and Predictive Algorithms Traits. The only way I am going to gain those traits is by doing some good old grinding and as you know, that takes A LOT of time...

I am also working on raising the EC's necessary to gain the Vaadwaur Astika Heavy Battlecruiser (lowest I have found this ship is for 108M EC's) so far I have raised 152M EC's these past three days but my goal is to have 250M EC's before buying more stuff. You also mentioned to get the All Hands on Deck Trait but I cannot see on your previous comments where I can Acquire this trait, can you please clarify...

Now about acquiring [Crtd]x4 for my fleet cruiser is something that I would probably do but at a later date... It is a huge project to undertake and I estimate the cost including upgrades to be around 850M to 950M to maybe 1B in EC's depending how much it takes to upgrade those weapons to Ultra Rare or Epic grade.

I am curious about your new build, but I know that is classified information so I look foward to the report on your findings.

For those blowing up in the phantom you don't know how to take advantage of that ship at all. You need to build around reprocity which means having incredibly high defense. With my ship at full throttle and no buffs I'm at 110% defense, as i fight i can average 150% defense and 180+ if i use evasive maneuvers. Not only will reprocity continually proc i hardly ever get hit and if i do its only because i got tractored down and my escape mechanics were on CD which is hardly ever. Even then i found the ship to be very resilient and i really enjoy flying it.

tactical ships work great with torps. I would think fighters that have good torps would be the way to go. I suggest one that has torp spread?

All in all, any non frigates are very weak and die so often as to be more trouble than useful in groups. Solo, the elites are marginally useful. To be fair, I am spoiled with good frigate pets which make the weak ones seem to be pointless, but also to be fair, the non frigates are just not that good (largely due to sitting on top of breached cores and getting killed over and over... frigates don't do this, only fighters).

I am using elite peregrines. They are not great. Some of the big dps people are using elite swarmers for some reason. Also, I swapped to Epic Dual Antiproton Beam Arrays [Crd]x3 [Pen] and [Crtd]x4. on my Scimitar. Omni directional, Ancient, and cutting beams on the back. Massive improvement on dps. I have done a 71k dps ISA last night post nerf bat patch. These weapons are worth going after. I am ditching my [Crtd]x3 [Crth]s.
