Now you can change your Captain's traits any time you are not in mission. So I typically switch between Space and ground depending on what I am doing. You can buy captains traits from the exchange. How you get them is from opening various lock boxes. The captains traits are pricy. The starship traits are obtained from ships or from getting to a certain level in the specialization system. Basically, you are backing into the new reciprocity build.

I agree with Edalgo really depends on what you want to do and how you want to build your ship. Here are some of my high level thoughts.
1. Do you want to do DPS?
Nukara 2 piece set gives 2.5% damage increase.
Omega 2 piece gives shield penetration
Jemadar 2 Piece gives give 9.6% damage increase to polaron
KHG/Adapted MACO gives a big bonus to projectiles. (Don't know the numbers off the top of my head)
Breen: Buffs Transphasic.
2. Do you want to Tank?
Assimilated Set 2 piece Bonus: Regenerates 1% of your Hull every 2 seconds
(equivalent to +30% Hull Regeneration Rate whether in or out of combat).
+10 Starship Hull Repair
Also makes my Nicor look really cool.
3. Other things to Look at.
Romulan Engine: Buffs Attack Pattern.
Elite Fleet Shields Resident Res B; Great Shield that everyone uses.
Undine Deflector;
AMP Warp Cores.

I do not know about ya'all but I feel pretty good about these results, but I do need more work to do. I still haven't tweeked my skill tree (as Admiral Ezri Ryan suggested) and still have to work on getting Omni directional sets for my aft weapons and test them as Commander Westmetals suggested and some other tweeks that Lt Cmdr Amaresh1 posted earlier.
I truly believe this ship can give more DPS output, it just needs more work, more grinding, more trials to MAX IT OUT. Then after many trials I can finally hear that immortal phrase from the legendary Montgomery Scott "I'M GIVIN' HER ALL SHE'S GOT CAPTAIN...'

Thanks Admiral Edalgo and Admiral Amaresh1, videos helped immensely... Now do any of you know how to increase the speed in acquiring specialization points??? It is taking me a millennia to get each point at a time...
The big differences are the Aft Weapons, Skill Tree Adjustments, and some equipment upgrades (Rare to Ultra Rare, etc, etc, etc...)
Check the note section for General Stats, DOFF's, BOFF's and details of the Rear Aft Weapons.
This is still and ongoing project Admiral Edalgo. I am currently grinding out the EC's I will need to go to Dual Antiproton Beams. I just want to see how much more damage I can get.

1. Get the Nukara shield for the 2 piece set with the deflector.
2. Get the Romulan Engine that gives a boost to Attack Patterns. It's a huge boost.
3. Get a Fleet Plasma Infused warp core with AMP and W->A. AMP is superior to the Obilesk core just adjust your power settings so shields and engines reach 76. Weapons will be maxed of course and Aux should be second highest. The plasma infused also helps with power drain.
And get the Plasmonic Leech. To me there is something wrong with a game that requires one item to be successful, but makes it difficult for one faction to get that item.
beam arrays? Lose that for DBB up front and the 3 aft 360s (crafted, ancient, and cutting beam). This ship is more than capable of being driven in a "forward weapon arc" style and using harder hitting weapons.
deflector: undine? it adds accuracy and energy weapon skill...
engine: romulan, it adds to attack pattern beta
fit a second copy of power to weapons in there? You may not need it, just if you do (?).
are you at 75 in all 4 power levels? Alternately ... are you using pedal to the metal?
As it stands you can just use the OB warp core, zero out engine power, and use P2M bonus and come out ahead. Yea, amp/fleet cores are nice, but talking pure dps, having 75% power to engines makes you go too fast to keep on target for P2M destruction, youll have to turn around some and lose damage. Broadsiding, it does not matter, fly in circles. If you swap for the amp core, you gotta have the power levels to make up for losing the AP set bonus...
Is it just me or has the parameters of this game changed since last update....
I have the same ships,
I have the same set up of ship weapons and equipment,
I have the same setups with the BOFF's and DOFF's,
I have the same powers levels and skill trays,
I have a 38.1k dps record and and finally made it to the 30k channel,
NOW I cannot pass 20k to 25k in dps,
I get blown up every 5 seconds,
My ships and crew run like the just came out of the starfleet academy,
Can someone explain to me WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON....
I know there have been much talk going on about changes to the game.
I haven't been on much in the past few weeks but last time I ran ISA I pulled 44.8k. Not a great run but close enough to my average not to cause concern.
Maybe this was before these changes took place. I was on last night. Didn't run ISA but didn't see much of a difference on my Avenger in the missions I ran.
Thanks for the heads up but for some odd reason, things are not the same I can barely crack 25k so either there has been changes or I am not a good pilot. Anyways I will keep on making improvements but it feels like it is an up hill battle Admiral Edalgo...

Thanks Admiral Edalgo for those suggestions, I have seen a substantial increase in DPS on regular PUG's and in all PVE game types with these changes in equipment. I just have not been able to defeat my DPS record (38107.14 DPS) I noticed that when I was on the earlier slump, I was not having good PUG games and trying to find a team to get high DPS was hard to find. I just need to assemble a good team to get the MAX numbers I can get for this build, but still trying to get the 50k DPS mark...

Lt. Arkatdt, on this build I already have the Plasmonic Leech. If you use this console in conjunction with the Plasma-Generating Weapon Signature Amplifier/Flow, the Plasmonic Leech becomes more effective. Thanks for the input...

Captain Noroblad, I want to thank you for your input. I changed the Beam Banks to the Double Beam Banks as you suggested. A very noticeable difference when using FF3 and FF1. More DPS is definitely possible, just need to make the piloting adjustments to become more efficient in this type of flying... I had a spare Romulan Prototype Engine lying around in the hangar so I put it to use and yes, love the APB increase... I put a link below so you can see the current details on this build and you will see the power settings, BOFF's, DOFF's and General Stats on the notes section... I will try to get the Undine Deflector later, as for now I have made many changes on this build. I want to enjoy them for a while... I do not have Pedal To The Metal yet, I am still working on it. I just need to find a way to earn Specialization Points faster, any suggestions???

This is situational, power drain resistance helps but Obelisk is final damage so 10% Obelisk Ap (if your ship is able to maintain 125 w. power) is higher than 12% AMP (and 4x75 power level can be hard to achieve). There is redit article about AMP bonus somewhere and AMP isn't final damage bonus, it's somewhere in between cat 1 and 2 bonuses.

No, I have no suggestions on spec points. They are about to nerf arugula and about to launch an xp weekend. You should play the heck out of the xp bonus while its there.
Spec points come as you play the game. Play more, get more. Its not something you want to try to farm or grind .... youll end up hating the game.
Only reason I have pedal to the metal already is I only have points in piloting... I wanted rock & roll to avoid nasties, then later found out about P2M... and kept going to get that. Now working on intel tree... sigh...

Thanks Admiral Edalgo for those suggestions, I have seen a substantial increase in DPS on regular PUG's and in all PVE game types with these changes in equipment. I just have not been able to defeat my DPS record (38107.14 DPS) I noticed that when I was on the earlier slump, I was not having good PUG games and trying to find a team to get high DPS was hard to find. I just need to assemble a good team to get the MAX numbers I can get for this build, but still trying to get the 50k DPS mark...
Lt. Arkatdt, on this build I already have the Plasmonic Leech. If you use this console in conjunction with the Plasma-Generating Weapon Signature Amplifier/Flow, the Plasmonic Leech becomes more effective. Thanks for the input...
Captain Noroblad, I want to thank you for your input. I changed the Beam Banks to the Double Beam Banks as you suggested. A very noticeable difference when using FF3 and FF1. More DPS is definitely possible, just need to make the piloting adjustments to become more efficient in this type of flying... I had a spare Romulan Prototype Engine lying around in the hangar so I put it to use and yes, love the APB increase... I put a link below so you can see the current details on this build and you will see the power settings, BOFF's, DOFF's and General Stats on the notes section... I will try to get the Undine Deflector later, as for now I have made many changes on this build. I want to enjoy them for a while... I do not have Pedal To The Metal yet, I am still working on it. I just need to find a way to earn Specialization Points faster, any suggestions???

No, I have no suggestions on spec points. They are about to nerf arugula and about to launch an xp weekend. You should play the heck out of the xp bonus while its there.
Spec points come as you play the game. Play more, get more. Its not something you want to try to farm or grind .... youll end up hating the game.
Only reason I have pedal to the metal already is I only have points in piloting... I wanted rock & roll to avoid nasties, then later found out about P2M... and kept going to get that. Now working on intel tree... sigh...
