I voted for PvP. Sometimes old dogs just don't know when to give up, eh?
Truth be told, I was actually more interested in the fleet option it had...but something told me that would end up being something along the lines of 'we've cut the xp given by all projects, cut back on FC rewards, and also here's a new holding that takes as long as the Starbase!'...or something equally insane.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
Do PvErs with an inferiority complex just come here and look up for ways to make their self-esteem rise of a couple of points? Do you have problems or what?
I don't hate PvP. I just don't see it as a good use of developer time.
you could not be more wrong. think of all the time and effort must go into a featured episode. all the environment work, the cut scenes, the voice acting, the COST of the voice acting, all the time it takes to make it actually fun, and what do you get for all that work? a mission thats great fun once, bearable 3 times, and a total drag you click through and resent for being so long wile you run it 3 times per character after that.
do the tinniest thing for pvp, and every single pvp match after is positively effected, forever. you dont have to MAKE pvp content, the players fighting each other is the content. you just have to set up the infrastructure, once, and it self perpetuates after. best part is, literally fixing pvp once and for all would take a fraction of the time, effort cost and manpower creating any new episode would! part of why them doing nothing for pvp is so maddening.
so, this isn't even a mater of opinion, not thinking its a good use of developer time to do the smallest, slightest things to help pvp, is simply wrong.
Please god don't let new stupid episodes beat PvP... I know it scares most of the pve heroes in this game to do anything truly multiplayer, but it will really be a sad day if single-player episodes gets more votes in an MMO.
I can guarantee that at least 2 of the DPS league wizards are voting for pvp .
I don't hate PvP. I just don't see it as a good use of developer time.
Well you are in the PvP forums. Perhaps you should go find the exploration sub section... oh right. Developers felt the came could go completely without that.

I have said this million times. It would cost next-to-nothing compared to one featured episode to FIX and even expand PvP.
New Ground and Space maps are here, small big, all sizes. mechanics need to be balanced and leaderboards/matchmakking can be made.
People here act like it's some wizardry to make leaderboards or matchmaking that's what bothers me the most. Like it would take 500working days to make such a petty thing which EVERY online MP game has.
And yes @ Arthas, I am also on DPS channels and asked people to vote for pvp. Porch and Ryan used to PvP a lot, I have literally played every pve/pvp mission in game with DPS/kirk's protege folks, and there are many PvPers on DPS channels and vice versa.

For how things are going we lost it.
As I said already to some friends in game, I'll hop on ESD and challenge random people at PvP for 5v1.
..this time I'll make sure to bring a vape Faeht loaded with Surgical and every other Intel gimmick. You know, just to make them feel bad for their PvE ships. What I noticed is that majority thinks their ships are awesome because they kill NPCs fast. All I want to do is hurting their ego.
Last time two Defiants had beaten a team of 5 random endgame players. Just imagine what a single Faeht will do.
Chaika chaika choo choo the intel pvper has no brakes
How many of them won't? I don't hate PvP. I just don't see it as something this game will ever do well.
But it did. This is the point; most who say "more PVP" are not asking for unicorns and rainbows, we're asking for something that was in the game in the past and is not any more; a reasonably balanced and accessible PVP experience.
Heck, back in the "good ole days" (pre-F2P) there was an entire equipment store that could only be bought using PVP-obtained marks.
I'm no ninja and I do not have the reflexes of a hyperactive teenager. But I used to enjoy PVP, especially when it was recognisable Fed and Klingon ships duelling.
PVP needs lots of help but "More PVP queues" is a terrible answer for it.
I agree, i think ''PvP Revamp'' would've been better vote to get...
PvP do need more Maps, it also needs to give more tempting rewards, and better PvP gameplay modes as well and i would still like to see PvP Systems Maps similar to Ker'rat but with better objectives than killing a third party PvE Enemy like the Borg.
these is a few of the ideas i have
- Ground Arena maps needs to be replaced with new ones with a force field or better defense turrets to prevent spawn camping
- Ground Assault maps should be removed and replaced with Ground Capture and Hold maps with lager maps converted from PvE Maps such as the Fed Prison Map that the Founder was in, to open area maps like that one Jungle Map with the Gorn enemies are in from the Fed Klingon War story arc.
- Space Arena maps, some of the details should be spread out more around the entire map.
- Space Capture and Hold, needs to be redesign and enlarge... with all the Speed Creep that been going up for awhile, the Capture Points should have more distances between them, taking a Capture Point should not be based on the Ships Crew instead based on how many players are on the Capture Point that determines how fast it can be taken over, the old Starbases and Satellites should be replaced with Fleet Starbases like the ones from the PvE Fleet Action... 1 KDF Fleet Starbase and 1 Fed Fleet Starbase.... which have their own weapons and HP unlike the current CnH Starbases, i suggest giving these Fleet Starbases with massive amounts of HPs and Shields to make em harder to knock out and deter Spawn Camping, If these CnH Fleet Starbases manage to get disabled it should have a 1-2 min repair cycle before returning to full HP and Shield and firing again.
- A visual Map Grid is need to all PvP maps which can be seen around 15-10 km when approching the Edge of a map to allow ppl to know how close they are at the end of the map.
- Better PvP Rewards, i would suggest adding ''Choice of Marks''around 20-30 Marks, with small amount of Dilithium around 280-480 and along with certain amount of XP and EC per match which will make PvP queues more tempting.
Just looked at the poll. And I'm not surprised that PVP is only at 17%. Besides, its not like they said "more PVP maps" or "PVP Balance Pass" or anything like that.
Besides, with how heavily monetized STO is, PVP Just feels out of reach for me now a days. Its the reason why there is dust forming on my STO Desktop icon. Life time sub = LOL it feels like.
You think that your beta test was bad?

Tell me something i don't know already on the poll...
Cryptic used a vague term ''More PvP Queues'' which if you read the forums, alot of poeple assumes that its new PvP Maps... then some say PvP needs balancing first, then they decide to jump into the PvE Episodes or Exploration bandwagen.
If Cryptic used the term ''Improved PvP Gameplay'' or ''PvP Revamp'' then it would have a better chance, of course it will not beat Exploration... but it will give it a chance of competing against PvE Episodes or even beating it slightly for 2nd place.
that troll.... really.... kinda never comments on posts that dig the base of his pointless arguments, but keeps on trollin' on and on.
and even if he does comment, he does with what? baseless and pointless arguments from the 1950's of this game lulz...
while encouraging a picture like only a cryptic fanboy could ...

He is in every thread on forum related to pvp attacking anyone that is for PvP.
It's a troll bait, he has a grudge against PvP and several more things and acts like he speaks for entire community, he even answers questions directed at Cryptic. Hilarious.
I totally understand where you're coming from. A balance pass is something that I personally don't believe Cryptic is interested in investing resources in. Power creep is selling those ships and lockboxes.
either he works for Cryptic or he is their Fanboy Prime. He knows what Cryptic will do, what they are interested in, what players want(exceptwhen players want something he doesn't)

aye, must be him ! no self reflection at all. but why should he, he's a pro!... oh wait: he was, "back in the day" (1950's?! lmao) ...
i really like to get enlightened by him. always worth a bitter rofllol...
lol, i even could drop valid points against that claim of him. but why bother? in germany we got a saying (/quote): "perlen vor die s
My posts are nowhere near as hilarious as yours, trust me. Especially since it seems to be acceptable for you to attack me all you like while pretending to be a victim by claiming I'm attacking you. It's kind of funny really.
I'm not trolling anyone. If you all want to vote for PvP, go for it. More power to you and I wish you good luck and hope you get what you want from it.
and there we got: another rofllol ....
xcept for the last lines, now that's really something new in that regard lol (even behind the sarcasm). so i'll leave the sarcasm and say: thx sir!

pvpers have to grind too. its not really pvp'er vs pve'er, its pvper vs stupid/hater/troll
